Intimidate

Rules Questions

1. "If successful, the target gives you the information you desire, takes actions that do not endanger it, or otherwise offers limited assistance.". No Diplomacy check?

2. "You can use this skill to cause your opponents to become shaken for a number of rounds." How many opponents?

1. It might be dependant on the situation, but generally no, a diplomacy check is not required. Think of a school bully. After he intimidates the runt of the class into giving over his lunch money, there's no friendly negotiation over how much he'll be taking.

2. Parsing the wording, most of the terms used refer to a single opponent. Also, Dazzling Display affects ALL opponents within 30'. Since there's no wording at all to suggest a specific number in the Intimidate skill, I'd say a single opponent is the intent.

1. In our game, we play like this: Intimidate only changes Attitude to Friendly, so can You easliy make Diplomacy Check. Some sort of social combat;)

2. That's clear.

Exactly. I think it was worded so that you can Intimidate several opponents, but one at a time (to make things clearer, maybe they should have added this part). Since you have to use a standard action for each, it severely limits your actions in combat - although it could be interesting tactically if you already have several fighters around you (think BBEG, or just some arrogant noble, intimidating people behind his bodyguards).
