Nope. I am just using WotC d20 modern/future and adding my own twist...

Ugggh! Tedious. Back to the game! You're unfamiliar with the d20 Modern equipment lists? (You can also find the d20 Future equipment lists over here, if that's you're problem. Of course, if the problem is that you can't just copy/paste the lists for some reason, I've been no help at all.)
By unfamiliar, I mean that I actually have to look things up to determine what I want to use. I can put togethr a D&D or PFRPG set of equipment without looking at the list. I have the books and access to the SRDs cso I have the material to work with.
Basically, the "civilized" human worlds are progress level 7 with interstellar technolgy. But, I am not a real big fan of the gravity guns and I am changing them to plasma and laser guns which I prefer the flavor of. Plus, although I have looked at the mecha rules, I haven't put together anything and given it the feel I want by specifically choosing the variations, etc.
Psionics and mutants are common.
But, there are also a lot of "backwater" worlds that are progress levels 5 and 6 and thus I need to create my weapons list for them and make it NOT sound like it is earth origins: no 20 caliber or 30-06, etc. Also, in these backwater locales can be found the evidence of the degrading arcane arts as per the d20 modern level of arcane power.
Further, there have been three prior "Empires of Humanity" who advanced to progress levels seven and eight. There are relics of their technological superiority scattered throughout the backwater planets as well as on deserted locales. This will include superior weeaponry and superior mecha as well as transport.
But, most don't realize that the history of interstellar civilization even goes back thousands of years farther to when great alien powers (equivalent to tentacled old gods and such...) vied for control of the universe. They possessed superior weaponry, bionics/cybernetics, and bioware/genetics. These powers also had mastery of magic at its greatest level of power: equivalent to PFRPG, 3.5 D&D and Epic D&D. Relics of this age are scattered throughout the universe and beginning to stir back to "life". It should go without saying that their psionics was unmatched also...
So, I have a lot of work to do. Supplying the equipment that can be found by the PCs as they start marooned and with no equipment: design a rogue robot, environmental work suits, create a workhorse mecha not designed for combat but still viable, scatter various forms of small arms and power packs including modifying the usage of power packs (keeping the 50 shots but changing it to each die of damage counts as one shot) to give the feel I am looking for: universal power packs. Plus, I have to determine what I believe will be appropriate purchase DCs for these items if people want to pick them up later. Make "alien" technology which will not interface with the universal power packs and other equipment. I am making it difficult on myself in hopes of creating the right feel.
Does any of that make sense?

** spoiler omitted **...
Cool. It's making me nostalgic for the Star*Drive setting.

Something like above?

Yeah, that makes sense. For the lower-PL worlds, you probably could just use the same basic stats/prices as existing weapons. After all, in D&D a dirk is a cinquedea is a main-gauche is a dagger. No matter what they call them, they're probably going to have something knife-like, something spear-like, something axe-like, etc.
As for the universal power packs, how universal are we talking? Are we talking about taking the battery out of your pistol for a few more shots with your rifle, or could you just grab one out of your toaster? Still, the price probably wouldn't be that different from the regular game in any case.
As for the last bit, that's really just proper adventure design, and I can't really help you with that bit.
