So...when someone posts something general like, "People should have to get a nonjerk license before they can post on the internet," it makes one think that there is a specific story behind such a broad proclamation.

Unaware that he had typed the wrong word, a great FLASH of LIGHTNING punished Mairkurion for his carelessness in spelling. (Funny thing: when I first made the character M, Lightning Bolt was one of his signature spells.)

meh... I'll just build another one when the time comes. This one's only a year and a half old, so once I get Win7 into it it's gonna have a few more years left in it.

You can see that as the night wore on my Posts on the Monster Synopsis Threads for SuperStar Round 2 got worse and worse.

I'm not having problems with Windows 7. It's MUCH better than Vista and you don't want to be stuck with that abomination.

Oh no!

Nowadays, I try to only post in friendly threads when it gets late, but sometimes I fail. I remember when I was in the Gygaxian naturalism argument thread, man, I posted some dissertations late at night.

That's what I thought.

It might be a "new" program, but the version you have may have been made before Win7 came out and might not be compatible with it yet. I would contact the manufacturer of the Software and see what they say about it as they may have an update or another newer version. Depending on you version of Win7, you might be able to run the Program in Win7's Virtual XP setting.

I am off as well. I have a lil shopping to do.

ok SO Windows 7 works fine. They just adjusted some basic things they should have done with vista and made it look nicer. I have heard rumors that the internal name was windows 6.2.

That being said you can generally and sometimes easier get it fixed, then say with vista, which I must admit can be stubborn but nothing like their old programs.

Alienware is a great and powerful gaming system BUT you are also paying for the name. You can get just as powerful of a machine for almost 1000 less just by shopping around.

Yeah I don't mind Dell. I have 2 (my Laptop and my wife's Desktop) and I haven't had any issues with them (OK so the power cord for my laptop died, but I got it replaced under Warranty and haven't had a problem since.

They're not top of the pile, but they are consistent and relatively cheap. Plus, you can custom build a machine to your budget instead of taking what the store has to offer and not needing half of what is in there...

I am not a fan of HP after repairing too many over the past 3 years and having issues with said repairs on a number of occasions. :/

Dell consistently has a problem with their power cords.

I have had to replace every cord I have ever gotten.

You gotta remember though that the software you have at the Store is probably older proprietary software or if it's not then it will be updated, but it's possible the owner won't shell out for the newer version. I have seen this many times before, people have an old version and don't pay for the upgrades, then something goes wrong and all of a sudden they can't do anything with it.

I have heard nothing but good things about Win7 (OK I have heard some gripes, but not many).

as many as vista?

Thanks. I wasn't sure. I felt like I wasn't being helpful, especially with my "default damage by size" comment. I hoped someone else would weigh in after me.

You should definitely enter next year.

Dude, you were totally helpful! I'll keep that kind of stuff in mind for next year- do you think mentioning where certain rules could be found would invalidate my entry?

Not at all. It's a nice shorthand for answering any questions that might come up, and, since the rules *are* available, you don't have to repeat them.

Yes, please elaborate. I'm considering switching away from Vista to 7 and would like to know if it's worth the trouble.
