I want to bring the Phaethon into Golarion. In the 3.5 book, they get a bonus to wisdom and a penalty to strength. I noticed in Pathfinder, the races either get a bonus to one ability score or a bonus to two abilities with a penalty to another. In 3.5, their favored class is monk. This makes me think that I should give them a bonus to dexterity. If it makes any difference they also get low-light vision and the ability to (as a free action) to grow wings of fire to either fly or deal extra fire damage with unarmed attacks in a round. Does this make since? In 3.5, they have a LA of +2. Any ideas or suggestions?
Id like to help but in what book are Phaethon listed as a playble race i only know the Gargantuan Epic outsider version.
Ok well i dont know if your familiar with the pathfinder bestiary but they adjusted the rules for lever adjustment. And the system is pretty good. I would recomend toning the Phaethon down to one level adustment and the new scheme. How about this:
Phaethon Racial Traits:
Lv Adjustment +1
Dex: +2 Str: -2 Wis: +2
Lowlight Vision
Flaming Wings:(SU) 3x/day As a move equivalant Action a Phaethon may gain a fly speed of 20ft for i 1min/character level
Flaming Fists:(SU) 5x/day A Phaethon may add 1d6 fire damage to his unarmed strike for i rnd and counts as though he had the imp unarmed feat.

Ok this sounds pretty good. I did forget that in the 3.5 book they fly with the wings at a speed of 60 feet (avg maneuverablity).
If anyone has any other ideas, I'd like to hear them.
Well this isnt over powered either: maybe even 40 feet but if you want them to be lv adustment +2 the 60 ft and give em improved unarmed as a bonus feet and a nac: +2 and there balanced as well an make good monks.
