Head over to the gamer connection and ask if any are accepting. PBP is a unique format of gaming, and I'd be happy to answer specific mechanical questions as I've run a couple. (My last one kinda fell apart before really getting going)
Were you looking to play anything specific?
Thx Mikhailia, I'll head over there now to ask who's accepting.
First, how often do do ppl play/ keep track of turns?
As for "specific", I only have access to PF core rules, would that be an issue?

Keep in mind, there are alot more kinds of play by post than just the kind you see on this forum. I personally manage and play in PbP's that are diceless, focused on the roleplay but with solid mechanics (that don't depend on dice) to keep things fair and immersive.
I actually would enjoy rolling dice. However, in my home games, we focus on role playing.
Do you know how get in to one?

You won't get any argument from me lol, rolling dice is fun. I guess I'm just too used to the other style of PbP to consider posting with dice as an ideal method.
Right now a partner and I are working on...
A dragonball Z site
A Starwars site
And a pseudo-historical medieval site with various fantasy races (elves, dwarves, hobbits and the like, in addition to multiple regional human groups)
Also, we have one site that's temporarily closed at the moment, but is one of the best games I've ever played in, it's been running for 3 years now, off and on. It's an anime inspired school for 'gifted' students, those with access to magic, martial arts powers, mutations etc etc, the setting is kind of a loose hybrid of the Negima! manga, X men, Harry Potter, and the Tengu Tenge manga/anime
If any of those interest you, let me know.

Well, not to over state myself but...
I ABSOLUTELY LOVE MANGA AND ANIME! >.<
SO I'm interested.

Heh, then you would probably love Masaru Accademy (and might enjoy our DBZ game we're putting together, it's toned back to the point the combat is more like Dragonball, but with spaceships and transformations and such)
My email is in the spoiler below, by all means feel free to send me an email or (preferably) add me to your msn/Yahoo messenger.

Just keep in mind the dissappointment is pretty high in pbp games; as you can see from the posts; there are a whole lot more pbp failures than there are successfull games.
My two games are successful; on is like #4 or so in number of posts if that is a measure; but I have tried like seven or so different games a a player and they all fall apart as presumably real world intrudes; gm looses interest; players drop out; having read these forums for a couple years; I just wanted to say; best way to have a game is to run one.
I would sure like to play in a game; I keep hoping our superhero or warhammer fantasy or the like will start back up. I really loved my gnome spellthief for a game; that one was really cool; but it stopped; just trying to say; I make more players for games starting up than I ever thought and games dont seem to last. Sure; lot of gm's talk a lot but my advice is to find a game run by a guy who has been running games or posting for a while; someone who will take all your great enthusiasm and player ideas and run with them.
Maybe we should start a thread about gm track records so players know what to expect; my buddy Balfic is much better at that stuff than I am; he is always telling me; "oh; that is the guy who dropped out of; or the guy who was running X and dropped or" and like that; that is probably good to know.
I am thinking of running a new game maybe next year; something other than a fantasy genre as I am already running two of those, but I would really rather find a good gm myself and a great bunch of players and join in a game.
as for rolls and game turns; each gm handles it differently; some like to use the roller on this site; some like you to use a dice roller of their preference and give you a link to it; personally; I roll dice right here at my computer and I dont care if someone uses a roller or dice but if I run a statistical analysis on someones numbers and it is way way off; well, then I might need to adjust some things; but really my players roll worse than average most times.
game turns are mostly story based; you can post as much as you want player to player; the gm keeps the story moving; in combat or situations where countdown sequence like initiative matters; people just post their actions either by initiative order; or more commonly; people just post their actions (and back ups if things change before their turn) and the gm sorts it into a end or round synopsis which is sometimes very artful and fun to read.
All games seem to have a pace; some playes and gm's want a lot of posting or posting on a certain day; some are more casual; make sure you find the type of game you want and can do.
Also, keep in mind you get all kinds of people from all kinds of background who may or may not be very good writers and have no idea what kind of tone is in their writing; so just follow the same old idea of "dont feed the trolls" as most peeps <like me> tend to not understand the impact of some of their words.
Anyway; have a great time; hope you find a great game; if you find one with a couple spots open and want a slightly burned efreeti companion; hehe; let me know.

If You like we can start a thread about that. It would give ppl an idea of what to expect. I think this maybe important. ^^
Also, I'll keep this all in mind and vice-versa, let me know if you find a game with some open spots.
I am maybe looking for a light-hearted game, either traditional (PF), sci-fi or anime. I am an artist and am very creative. I can appreciate anything unique.
However, it does look like Pbp may not be a legitimate idea for my need to play... that is, unless I start getting some more positive responses.
