Louis Porter Jr. Design, has released its first preview for the upcoming post apocalyptic survival horror fantasy setting, Obsidian Twilight for the Pathfinder Roleplaying Game. Here is information on the Races of Obsidian Twilight: Exalted (PRPG) Preview:
The Exalted are the direct offspring of angelic outsiders, mated with humans on Abaddon. The unique circumstances of Abaddon make this a more common event than it might otherwise be in other parts of the multiverse. The angels here are thrust into closer contact with mortals than they are used to, cut off from the gods and entities that they serve and forced to make a new life for themselves. Exalted are fair-skinned humanoids with a heavenly aura and glow of peace and natural grace, something that exists in direct opposition to the nature of the changed world that surrounds them. In a world such as Abaddon – even more so than in other violent and sinful worlds – the Exalted understand that they are fighting for a lost cause and all they can do is to delay the inevitable and provide some last shreds of hope.

Have you seen our 4 out of 5-star review on RPGNow on Races of Obsidian Twilight: Exalted? Read about it here!!!

When I first think of the Exalted, I think of .... "oh no, I don't have 40 d10's to play this game1!111!...."
The way I understand the preview fluff, it's a new spin on aasimars. Or more specifically, children of the Nephilim (Genesis 6:1-4). I hope to read more about the history because I want to know about Zebadiah (who is he modeled after, anyway? I thought Lucifer, but...) and Calix Sabinus (...he may be the Luciferian archetype). And I get the family name from its Middle Eastern origins.
Can't really comment more until the crunch and the campaign surfaces for overall impressions, but I'm still curious.
What's next?

Good bible-fu!

Actually Archangel Michael
and Calix Sabinus (...he may be the Luciferian archetype).
Actually Calix is just an old fashioned Vampiric Lich.
And I get the family name from its Middle Eastern origins.
Yes.

Well I will give you a choice, would you rather seen another race OR the "fluff" history of the setting?

I have a lot more philosophy / theology / comparative religion / occult / etc. books on my shelves than I do gaming material ... and I have a lot of gaming material!

Really? Hmmm.... I don't see it. I may have to phone a friend for a clue on this one.

Actually, I want to see your four armed scottish rhino! LOL. Hey, whatever you got coming up is fine with me. But to be truthful, it's really going to be the campaign fluff that will need to sell to me before investing in the rest of the kit and kaboodle.

So if Obsidian Twilight is a "Dark Sun/Ravenloft mashup", and Pirates of the Bronze Sky is a "Spelljammer/Eberron mashup", I look forward to your next logical project: Tales of 1001 Worlds, a "Planescape/Al'Qadim mashup". :-)
Not a big fan of Planescape, so Iguess I will farm Tales of 1001 Worlds to freelancers. LOL!!!

Hence, "indoctrinate" and "mysterion".

Understandable. Some people may not like the Victorian imagery or the endless usage of the word 'berk' in the same sense that 'frak' seemed to be overused during BSG's run. :D

You are correct, sir! I will also have you know that I raided three more HPBs down here during my visit to Cincy while the woman and other femmes in the family were off at their Xmas ornament swap -- more readings were added to the never ending archives.
P.S. HPB is going to be running a 20% after holiday sale from Dec 26th to the 30th. I apologize in advance for enabling a fellow addict. ;)

The dates some times vary a little, but it's basically the same time every year, written on my heart after my wife's birthday, anniversary, and other life-saving information.
BTW, wife has approved tomorrow's HPB trip to "earn" my calendar. Hopefully, I can still find that Rokugan setting book...
Huzzah!
I wish that the stores catalogued their books and linked up to each other like libraries do so if another store had it, you could purchase it and have it transferred to that store.
But then again, half the lure about HPB is the unplanned treasures you stumble upon. Never seem to happen to me at B&N or Borders. I rue the day that all books become digital.

The Rokugan CS book was still there, and I got to replace one of the 1AD&D Modules that I used to own: Queen of the Demonweb Pits. Those and a bag got me a Calendar. Go HPB!
Yeah, I love digital, but only as a supplement, not a replacement for all books.

Most excellent news! You should take the mizzuz out to eat as she was kind enough to allow you to pander to this incurable addiction.
I agree: supplement, not a replacement.

To get somewhat back on topic, LPJ, I'm reading the Harrowed, so I'll say something about that soon too. :P

Mairkurion {tm} wrote:Good point! I'm off to download and make amends, LPJ.Make sure you put up a review of the product!!!! It is THAT important!!!!
Reviews are hard to come by. A few hundred downloads of my Reborn Soul sorceror bloodline, and no reviews... but one excellent story of how it was used in a campaign, which was pretty frikkin' sweet.
