Which link is that?
(The answer is probably "wait a few minutes as the servers get in sync," but there's a chance there really is a busted link somewhere....)

I'm not sure if anyone's noticed yet, but this year contestants get 300 words to define their wondrous item. It was only 200 words the previous two years. So, there should be lots more room to get creative.
Thanks for pointing that out! I thought it was 250 words previously, but my brain is turning to mush.

Good luck everyone :)
And now I need to convince at least one of my friends to give it a shot this year. Namely the person who introduced me to D&D in the first place.
I'm pushing my college DM, with whom I've played more hours than any other single human alive, to join in this year.

Work it, entrants, work it! I expect such items of sufficient wonderment and dazzling writing that it will make me say "Use me in your campaign NOW!" Now get to it...or no cookies!
~laughter~ You said it, Lilith!!!
BTW, are you doing anyting for this, Lilith? If so, then I know that whatever you submit will be amazing!

I think I might work with 200, and just not worry too much if it goes a bit over. With this, as with most kinds of writing, economy is a virtue, and the successful streamlined items of the last 2 years prove that you don't need more than 200 words to produce a wondrous item of professional quality.

FYI, we changed the word limit to 300 for a reason, but you won't see why until a later round.
And to prevent the list of R1 judges from growing longer and longer each year, we've only called back the previous year's Top 4 to comment on this year's R1 entries.
Boomer and the others are, of course, free to comment as part of the open debate. :)
