Yeah, I guess I'm just curious. I just realized, AFTER posting my last little ring in thread, that I was also curious about something else in the gamer life category.
That said, what do you wonderful people consider to be your most epic, most iconic and shining moment in gaming?
As an example, mine is the first time that a character I played took down a dragon. It was (in old school terms) an Age Category 12 Blue Dragon. Nasty bugger too, nailed us with a sneak attack using ventriloquism to get us to look the other way before coming out of the sand behind us and nearly one-shotting our Rogue/Ranger.
After nearly wasting the entire party (the aforementioned Rogue/Ranger, my Paladin/Divine Crusader, and our resident Sorcerer/Dragon Disciple), I burned my last two action points to activate my Smite Evil one final time. After tallying damage, the thrown Dwarven Thrower hammer punched through its jaw and dropped it to -1. Several CDG's later, one very dead dragon and one VERY glowingly happy player. I never in my life felt like I earned something more.
So we hacked off its head and had the Sorcerer teleport back to the capital city on the other side of the world that my Paladin had started a temple to Moradin in. With the declaration "Please mount this somewhere in the temple, and know that I do these great things because they need doing" or something Paladiny and uber.
So, story time is on and I'm all ears!

In a DragonLance campaign, our group was captured by the Wizards of High Sorcery to be interrogated regarding our strange abilities - we had accidentally portaled in from another Prime at the beginning of the campaign, making an Killoren Archivist and an Illumian Swordsage/Shadowcaster extremely out of place. (The other party members were a Human Swashbuckler and a Human Soulknife.) Part of the interrogation involved being tortured by Raistlin Majere. I was the Archivist; normally being a caster and party Knowledge bank she tended to use Aspect of the Ancient, but in the middle of the interrogation switched to Aspect of the Destroyer - changing her white hair to black, her gold eyes to red, and giving her a Smite attack... which she proceeded to use with the only part of her body that was not tied down during the interrogation. And hit.
My Squishy Priest headbutted Raistlin Majere in the face and lived to tell the tale. :D I think it actually ended up being an "echo" of Raistlin, rather than the actual person, but he had demonstrated earlier that he had "Phenominal Cosmic Power" before he started "working" so I think it still counts.
In the end the WoHS let us go as they determined our abilities didn't fall under their dominion, though they did give the Shadowcaster a robe of red trimmed with white.
I don't think I've done anything since that quite measures up to that.
This quote, however, sums up one such moment for another player in my group, who is unfortunately no longer with us. He's Malak the assassin, I'm Isaac the sorcerer, and Raina the barbarian is another player. And yes, it was an Evil campaign.
MALAK: I have plan for when we reach village. What we need to do is combine our skills. I am good at killing people. You are good at making jerky.
RAINA: Bring me the meat, I don't care where it comes from.
MALAK: We'll make a killing! We'll sell the villagers back to the villagers!
ISAAC: I hate to say it but I like this plan.
DM: I'm going to enjoy your deaths.

Once I played a wizard and our group was attacked by demons. The demons managed to take out all the fighters and other characters, and my wizard had used up all his spells. At the end there was one demon left (I think it was a babau, but I do not remember exactly). My choice was to fight or to run, and I expected a TPK, so I thought, well, let's just see how far I get. My wizard attacks the demon with his magic dagger, and surprise, surprise, defeats him. I will never forget that fight.
