The Vancaskerkin family connection is the inspiration for my current three campaigns: it inspired me to run the 1st three APs simultaneously (different groups, but with periodic character cross-over). I started with Second Darkness and had a few of the characters working for Saul be sent off by Feldin to find his sons and try to reconcile them with their dad (this all happening of course before that first adventure gets too far along).

I don't think that there'll be any more Vancaskerkins around, though.
It's not the only case of connections between adventure paths:
A certain elven ranger/cutie from Rise of the Runelords has another appearance in Second Darkness, there is a secret connection between some of the villains in Rise of the Runelords and Curse of the Crimson Throne, and someone from Rise of the Runelords is due to have another gig in Jade Regent if memory serves me.
I've caught the RotRL+SD connection, but I'm not familiar with the others. Could you post (perhaps behind a "Spoiler" mark if needed) so I know what to keep an eye out for? And are their any other interesting connections between the first three APs?

Here's a few...
In the first adventure of Curse of the Crimson Throne, one of the initial bad guys the PCs go up against is one of the Vancaskerkin brothers, a man who isn't quite gone so far as to be irredeemable.
There are elements of Runelord activity in all three of the first adventure paths. Rise of the Runelords is obvious, but in Curse of the Crimson Throne, the city of Korvosa is built on the site that once held the capital of Xin-Eurythnia and the main villain of that AP (Queen Illeosa) is using magic perfected long ago by Runelord Sorshen to gain immortality and eternal youth. And in Second Darkness, much of the drow plans revolve around investigating and mastering ancient Thassilonian magic left behind by Runelord Karzoug.
The magical disease that strikes Korvosa in the second adventure of Curse of the Crimson Throne was created from the hideous contagion that came to be in the depths of Foxglove Manor, explored by the PCs in "Skinsaw Murders."
Ameiko Kaijitsu's cousin Amaya has a cameo role in "Bastards of Erebus" (not one of the first three adventures, of course, but still a connection).
The mayor of Westcrown (again, from Council of Thieves) is the uncle of Queen Illeosa, the main villainess of Curse of the Crimson Throne.
Foxglove has a sister living in Korvosa, although she doesn't play a role really in Curse of the Crimson Throne.
Shalelu the elven ranger has an important role in both Rise of the Runelords and in Second Darkness.
The Thassilonian technique of imprisoning evil outsiders in a structure to provide long-lasting power for the structure, as revealed in "Hook Mountain Massacre," plays an important role in Council of Thieves.
There's more, but those are the big ones that come to mind for me.

Oh wow! I didn't even spot that one. I was trying to figure out how to incorporate The Sixfold Trial into my Curse of the Crimson Throne Game. This is perfect, Illeosa invites her uncle over from Westcrown to help govern Korvosa during this time of crisis. (Illeosa being the brat she is doesn't want to deal with the dreary day-to-day governance, her uncle isn't much better, but will make a great new "Seneschal" while the old Seneschal is in hiding.
Thanks!

I understand the uses in the language such symbols originate from, but in our stuff it largely just gums up the works without a significant gain or feels like a ham handed attempt to be more "FaaaaNtAsY!".
Actually I was just mocking the English-speakers for having a paltry alphabet ;) - that said. Sorry for going off topic again - just had to clarify that (and is it just me, or is the way brits/americans tend to keep confusing ü and ö not an endless source for hilarity?)

It was a low-budget show for sets and effects, but great at reflecting a typical Traveller campaign. Blake as the DMPC, trying to keep the party on track, while the players (especially the owners of Avon and Villa) try to amass as much loot, for as little effort as possible.
DMPC: Blah, blah, exposition, rebels gave their lives for this, blah, blah, supercomputer allows us to incept Federation signals, blah, take the fight to them....
PCs: We steal the McGuffin, and go break the casino.
DM holds his head in his hands.
Audience: Yeah, that is actually totally what we would do, too.
