We've all seen the game where Dante's the half breed of an all powerful monster from Hell, and after dying always comes back more powerful than ever. To the point that he could transform into a large winged man-bat. And I'm sure a lot of people have seen the movies where the "human" just transforms into a beast-like creature (try to forget MK2 the movie if you can), and turns out he was the devil in disguise. Thought I'd make a template class that represented that.
I couldn't keep it from being a +4 LA. If anyone can come up with a way to still make this half breed powerful, but also at a lower (balanced) LA, I'd really appreciate it because it just keeps growing. Considering a vampire's got eight levels, I'd like to think that four isn't all that bad. Let me know what you think.
Note that these are separated levels as per the template classes that I'd like to think a few people have seen over the years. It's the style my DM goes by.
Lvl 1 - CR +1 - STR +2, DEX +2, natural armor +2, low-light vision, darkvision 60 ft, outsider type (native), feat (Power Attack)
Lvl 2 - CR +1 - CON +2, CHA +2, natural armor +1, resistances 5 (cold, fire, electricity, acid), smite, feat (Cleave)
Lvl 3 - CR +2 - STR +2, INT +2, alternate form (demon), shapechanger subtype, damage reduction 5, regeneration 1
Lvl 4 - CR +3 - DEX +2, natural armour +1, alternate form (flying demon), resistances 10, poison immunity, spell resistance (lesser), regeneration 3
Smite: Gain smite 1/day good or evil, depending on alignment.
Damage Reduction: Gain Damage Reduction 5 good or evil depending on alignment.
Demon Form (Devil Trigger): Cosmetic physical changes; +2 STR, gain +2 on Move Silently, Hide, Intimidate, and Spot checks; two 1d4 claws, and 1d6 bite; darkness (lesser; 5-ft) spell-like ability 1/day, and regeneration 2. Gain +2 bonus versus being shaken or frightened. Lasts for 4 + CON mod rounds.
Demon Form (Flying Devil Trigger): In addition to the previous form, gain fly speed equal to land speed, +2 STR and DEX, and regeneration 5. Immune to shaken and frightened conditions. Gain 3 additional rounds.
Feats: If character already has Power Attack or Cleave, gain instead another feat from the Power Attack tree.
If anyone's wondering why I'm trying to make this, I'm designing a ranger/fighter Dante character with greatsword, and revolvers (as from the PF Campaign Setting and Tome of Secrets). It's too bad Monkey Grip, or a feat like it, doesn't exist in PF so I could give him a large greatsword.

Monkey grip has been built into PF rules.
Under the Weapon Size section of Equipment: Inappropriately Sized Weapons: A creature can't make optimum use of a weapon that isn't properly sized for it. A cumulative –2 penalty applies on attack rolls for each size category of difference between the size of its intended wielder and the size of its actual wielder. If the creature isn't proficient with the weapon, a –4 nonproficiency penalty also applies.

Surprisingly enough I read that and it didn't even dawn on me that that'd be Monkey Grip. One thing I don't like though is that large weapons and higher are now x2 everything. I much prefer the +50% cost to everything. It should not cost you 100 gold for a large greatsword, nor should it weigh 16 lbs. The quarterstaff I have to laugh at. A large one would be 8 lbs. They don't weigh that much. I carry beams that long at work all the time. They're barely 6.
But what'd you think of the template?

In tyrant of the Nine Hells there is a race called the Hellbred. I think a look at those mechanics could help in figuring out how to model Dante appropriately. I think it could give you alot of information and also reading up on the hells might give you perspective.
Half Fiend is another one to check out, perhaps tiefling as well.
Use that as the basis and perhaps you could pull together something...

The Fiendish Codex II? I've got that so I'll definitely have to look.
The problem with half fiend and tiefling is the fact that they have bite and claws. Dante only gets that when he transforms. As well, tieflings are a base race, where as Dante's human until he's killed and his demon blood resurrects him into a true half breed. Although admittedly our succubus and imp characters have an altering ability where they normally don't look like what they are, but instead they look humanoid (human girl for the succubs, elf girl for the imp). maybe I could use that somehow.
