the RPG Legalities board usually had some pretty harsh responses to Rouse having to post delays or perceived failure to respond fast enough. Of course ENWorld isn't as bad as some other RPG boards. :)
Moderation at EnWorld can be like a Swat Team however, which plays a role in that. People make jokes about Josh Frost, but he's got nothing on those guys. They'll issue a warning fast just over sarcasm, and they don't care if you don't like it. And the Management/Moderators had a good relationship with Rouse personally.
Don't forget that some of the top-ranking EnWorld folks were invited and flown in to the DnD Experience where 4E was unvieled, as WOTC's guests.
Now don't call me a tin-hat.. because I'm not allegeding *any* conspiracy. I think Scott Rouse is a fine fellow, and I wish him well. And, I've never seen EnWorld moderators be particuarly unfair or censor *any* opinion so long as it was civil to all parties.
But there are reasons why EnWorld is the way it is.

BioWare is based in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada.
Alberta and Texas are pretty much the same place, but one hot, one cold, and one with funny accents.
