Sorry for the delay as I was in a car accident with a deer. I'm okay, car and deer are not. :-(
Anyway, thanks for your assistance Josh. The important event is 847. It shows completely reported but still shows as an event I'm organizing. Also events 478 and 477 are still showing, but aren't as important as they were both canceled. Thanks.

I've run 4 games so far, but I can't seem to figure out this reporting stuff. Is there anyone that I can call who will walk me through the process. I've tried several times and seem to get nothing but errors. I just don't get it. My own name doesn't even come up as judging, some come up some don't, but nothing gets saved and I have to start over every time. I'm at a loss and not getting anything reported. :(

I don't want to call anyone out here, but I have noticed there have been a few posters on these forums who say they are running Pathfinder Society (and taking GM credit) or playing, yet when I look at their profile they have no membership in the Society--they haven't registered a character. I am not the PFS police and it's not my place to call people on it. However, it does make me wonder how they are reporting their sessions, which leads me to suspect they aren't doing it. Now I'm being a bit hypocritical here because I haven't always kept on top of my reporting. Believe me it can get away from you if you let it, especially the conventions. But I'm feeling self-righteous since I'm all caught up, so I repeat a question Josh has raised before:
Why aren't you reporting your sessions? What's holding you back if you aren't? Come on, confession is good for the soul...we can't help you if you don't show yourself...

I know I've run 3 sessions of home games. I've run into a few problems with trying to report.
1) For the first session I didn't figure out about reporting it until after I ran it and didn't get all of the required information from one of the players. He had an injury and hasn't shown up since and is terrible about answering/returning phone calls. I don't have his PFS # and when I tried to put in the Character name I needed his faction which I can't remember.
2) When I try to put in my pathfinder number as the GM for the other sessions I get an error to the effect of can't find the object (I think this is what it said).
3) Related to #2 for putting in my PFS# do I use the -x for my character or just the straight number without indicating a character. If I use the -x number does my character get the reward for it automatically or do I need to add her as having played the scenario.

I know that hindsight is 20/20 so please don't take this as criticism. Completing a tracking sheet at each session you run is very important. I myself skipped this a few times and really regretted it because memory doesn't always serve. You didn't know about reporting at the time, but hopefully you agree with me now.
You can report a session without 'completely reporting' it. If you lack player information you can still report what you have and get the session on record. Until you click 'Mark as Completely Reported' you can still go into the session and edit it. Remember, if you go back into a session to edit it, you need to put the session number in and click 'Find' in order to recover the original info. Overwriting it probably causes a lot of errors.
It is OK when you get the error after entering your PFS membership number in the GM field. All you need to enter is your four or five digit PFS number without any 'tail' (-1, -2, -3). I use the tab key to move from field to field. When that error pops up I hit OK and keep on going. It's just a harmless glitch. Your straight number goes in the GM field. Your character number goes in with the other PC information.

I'll jump in and say that the session sheets are very important. It took me quite a few times to realize that creating a recurring event was a good idea in the My Pathfinder Society area instead of one-time events. One-time events don't give you the option to "Download Session Sheets." However once I found this it made reporting much much easier.
Also repeating Doug, you can partially report a session and leave it at that. If the guy never responds, I'd give him ample time, and if a few months pass, you probably could just complete the reporting as he probably won't be playing PFS again... Of course he has his Chronicle sheet if he really needs it, and I bet Josh or Ross could easily fix a reporting session and reopen it for you. Hope this helps!
Edit: Also just remembered, that if this is his first PFS game you can always just click the button to reserve 10 PFS numbers. Use one of the numbers and just email/text/phone him the information about his PFS number and confirmation code. Even if he hasn't entered in his character you should be able to at least put his PFS number.

Only download the numbers if you intend to hand them out. :-)
Ross is in the process of implementing many changes to the reporting system based on user feedback and my own experiences. It's going to be a long process so I won't be able to give an ETA until the project is done, but it's coming.
Is it bad that I "preemptively" reserved them for home games? In other words I knew that I'd be bringing new players in, but it was only going to be 3-4 at a time. I originally did this about 2 months ago and have used all but one so far... should I just be asking people to create the account on the spot?

Thanks for all the info Doug Doug. I didn't say what I needed to very well. I did know I had to report from reading the PFS Guide, but I didn't know what information I needed to report before hand. I found the tracking sheets after the session when I tried to go report. LOL Live and Learn Right :-) I will go ahead with what you said about reproting my sessions then editing them later. I am finding these boards to be a huge help for GM'ing and in general to be honest. The community is GREAT!!!!

I did download some numbers and handed one out to a player. The person in question will be coming back after the recovery of their injury, I'm just not sure when. I do know he has a paizo account and registered for a PFS #.
Regarding the Recurring Event. I think I have one set up, but I'm not sure. I have run 3 games with three different event numbers. I just keep "cloning" the event and end up with a new Event #. Am I doing this right or do I need to change anything. I am getting the option to "Download Session Sheets" and have been using it now I know I need to. :-) Again thanks for all the help.

That's OK, I started running games before the reporting system was operational for GMs. I had to go back and remember who played at which table because I'm not sure if there were even session tracking sheets available then. Fortunately I knew everyone already and there were no players from out-of-town.
I am different from Alizor in that I avoid using the Ongoing Event report. I started using it before I understood the reporting system and I made a horrible mess of things. Fool me once, as the saying goes. Now I just create a New Event and I title it [Location][Scenario #]. It does create a rather long series of events but I can find a session a lot easier than digging into a recurring event. I'm up to 135 games run, but I report for other groups also. I'm pretty confident that I'm reporting my sessions correctly but there was a LOT of trial and error along the way. I think some GMs are in the same boat, where they tried to report, everything got discombobulated and they walked away afraid of making it worse. That's no slam on Paizo, I have never tried to create an application and I don't want to. But I do worry that sessions aren't getting reported because the Use Arcane Interface DC is too high.

Well I guess since what I'm doing is working for me I'll stick to it.

I'm with ya on creatiing an application. For me I don't think it was the application as much as not being very clear on what reporting entalied. For me the most helpful thing would have been either a write-up in the PFS Guide on the steps for creating/reporting an event (i.e. make an event, download the session tracking sheet, fill it out when you play, then report event afterward) or something about the session download sheets on the create event screen.
The reference you made about the Use Arcane Interface DC is too high made me crack up...very funny.
By chance are you going to make it to Paizocon?

Yes, after the reports I heard about last year's PaizoCon I will not miss it again.
