"Ask him in for a chat? I can spell him if needed." Knotty looks ready for a spot of action.
"I'm not sure inviting him up here would be a good way to avoid suspicion. Maybe if we could get him alone between some of the buildings."
"I wonder if he is following us. Might be nothing more to it than simple minded curiousity, but its easy to play the fool too. If he's related to the Baron, that makes it a little more suspicious."
Speaking to Knotty, "I could go for a walk. If he follows me, then perhaps you could follow him and do whatever it is you have in mind."

Anyone else invited?
Stealth checks for those trying not to be seen. Bluff checks for those wanting to play "innocently out for a stroll".
"Anyone else wants to join the party, feel free. I leave, then Knotty leaves and then the rest of you can follow him, backing him up without crowding him. If anyone asks, tell them you're going to try out the other tavern."
I was going to go for semi furtive once on the street, almost like I'm trying not to be noticed.
Bluff: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 1 = 9
And once I can turn the corner into a dark alley... assuming I am followed by someone.
Hiding/stealth: 1d20 + 17 ⇒ (8) + 17 = 25

Hru will also stay behind, watching the street out the window, and listening for signs of conflict.
"Don't stray too far"
His parting words, then adds "if there's trouble make a ruckus or send up a sign."
*watching w/darkvision
Hru dims the room's light source so he can aprise the street below.

Bumbo follows Knotty somewhat cautiously. When Knotty turns into an alley, Bumbo balks. He stares down into the gloom trying to see where Knotty went but doesn't enter. Hearing Liandra, he glances in her direction.
Anyone there who made a stealth check above 26 can act in the surprise round. ... I guess that's Galadar and Knotty. Roll for initiative also to determine actions in round 1.

Are you sure he isn't following Galadar? Knotty was meaning to be following him.
Initiative: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (12) + 4 = 16
I'll pull out a tanglefoot bag and ready an action to throw it if trouble starts.

When Bumbo hesitates, Knotty takes advantage of the shadows and moves quietly into position before casting a charm on the man.
Yeah, I think TD just meant it the other way around. Bumbo needs to make a Will Save DC14 or become a fisherman's friend. Knotty's Initiative 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 4 = 10
Knotty Ashe
Knotty strolls over and taps Bumbo lightly. "Here, could we have a word with you? If you ain't too busy. Maybe over a drink in our room at the inn?"
The halfling tries to see if the man is charmed or not from his responses.
Nice to see that Fisherman's Friends travel, never sure whether that was a UK "sweet" only. Knotty has no weapons visible.

"I'm sorry for the rudeness my good smith...I'm from the uncultured lands of Northern Varisia, and sometimes I forget my manners in the moment." says Hru
"One more thing, if it pleases you? You mentioned Shenk as the owner of that rather grande house and that he was taking care of the daft lad for the Baron. What is Shenk's relation to the Baron? And how did he come by his rather obvious wealth?" Might he be an ally to the cause or someone to avoid?"
After awaiting Smaar's response Hru bids him a good night and asks for the Iron Lord to bless him.

"Shenk? Tweiford Shenk?" Smaar laughs. "No, he takes care of the kennels. That house is the Almir Estate and there's no love lost between the baron and Dreyxor Almir."
Smaar leaves without saying anything more.

Knotty turns to Bumbo and points out the others, " this is Manfred, this is Hru, Eria's there, and here comes my friend Galadar. you will like him. Bumbo was telling me that he has a good friend called Tweiford. Someone he respects alot. I'll just go and get some food and drinks, thirst work. Water okay for you, Bumbo?"
Knotty Ashe
"Here we go, water for you and wine for me. Bumbo, tell me what's it like in town, I'm new here."
Cups and glasses, and a couple of jugs arrive on the table along with some bread and cheese, if the innkeeper has any.
"And tha-- -riend of yours Tweiford ---hats he like?" mumbles the halfling around a hunk of black veined cheese.
Sir Manfred VonFalkenburg
Tries to look dull and thuggish.
"Nothin'"
Bluff: (1d20+2=18)
Hru Gorumgrag
Hru turns to Galadar "Yes Boss...er about that, I have a question. I don't want to disturb goodman Knotty and his new friend with horsie talk, they're obviously dog people, would you step outside?" Hru then looks at Manfred and gestures for him to follow by cocking his head toward the door. "The horseshoe..."

"I was thinking of sending a message out of town. But if you don't know anyone I guess I'll have to wait. I doubt you would be able to find someone to deliver it for me."

"I can. I can. Let me do it," says Bumbo enthusiastically.
