Trapfinding

Trapsense +1

Finesse Rogue: A rogue that selects this talent gains
Weapon Finesse as a bonus feat (Rogue Talent)

Evasion (Ex): At 2nd level and higher, a rogue can avoid
even magical and unusual attacks with great agility. If she
makes a successful Reflex saving throw against an attack
that normally deals half damage on a successful save, she
instead takes no damage. Evasion can be used only if the
rogue is wearing light armor or no armor. A helpless rogue
does not gain the benefit of evasion.

Track (Ex): A ranger adds half his level to Survival skill
checks made to follow or identify tracks.

Wild Empathy (Ex): A ranger can improve the attitude
of an animal. This ability functions just like a Diplomacy
check to improve the attitude of a person. The ranger rolls
1d20 and adds his ranger level and his Charisma bonus
to determine the wild empathy check result. The typical
domestic animal has a starting attitude of indifferent,
while wild animals are usually unfriendly.
To use wild empathy, the ranger and the animal must
be able to study each other, which means that they must
be within 30 feet of one another under normal visibility
conditions. Generally, influencing an animal in this way
takes 1 minute, but, as with influencing people, it might
take more or less time.
The ranger can also use this ability to inf luence a
magical beast with an Intelligence score of 1 or 2, but he
takes a –4 penalty on the check.

Traits:

Spoiler:

Dirty Fighter: You wouldn’t have lived to make it
out of childhood without the aid of a sibling, friend, or
companion on whom you could always count to distract
your enemies long enough to do a little bit more damage
than normal. That companion may be another PC or an
NPC (who may even be recently departed from your side).
When you hit a foe you are f lanking, you deal an additional
1 point of damage (this damage is added to your
base damage, and is multiplied on a critical hit). This additional
damage is a trait bonus.

Charming: Blessed with good looks, you’ve come to
depend on the fact that others find you attractive. You
gain a +1 trait bonus when you use Bluff or Diplomacy on
a character that is (or could be) sexually attracted to you,
and a +1 trait bonus to the save DC of any language-dependent
spell you cast on such characters or creatures.

Background

Spoiler:

The daughter of a prostitute , Liandra's life was not overly unpleasant until age 12. Apparently, her mother's handler had ideas about putting the child to work early, something her mother vehemently opposed.

Perhaps too vehemently given his temper. Young Liandra walked in on the last vestiges of life being squeezed from her mother's neck. Still in a rage the pimp turned on her beating her savagely and leaving her for dead on a garbage heap.

She didn't die. She learned to survive the hard way. Be faster, better and smarter than anyone else. Trust no one, never turn your back. Soon she began to thrive in the darkened world of violence that lay beneath the surface of the city.

Her skill brought her to the attention of numerous criminal figures, and her speed and stealth made her a perfect courier for illicit goods. In fact her record has only one failure...a trip through the most crime infested region of the city that left her with several new scars, and happy to escape with her life. It was during that attack that she met Hagen, a grizzled former Andoran Knight who chose not to turn a blind eye to the girl bleeding in an alley. He took her home and helped her to recover, asking nothing in return.

Hagen had, upon his retirement been secretly assigned to assemble a network of skilled individuals that functioned as the city’s ears and eyes, and Liandra fit right in.

Her change of side has earned her enemies in the crime world. Perhaps understandably, she has a soft spot for the women who work the night, and an intense dislike for those who would mistreat or abuse them. More unusual, though fitting is her philosophy that anyone can have a chance to be worthwhile, from the lowest beggar, to the arrogant spoiled noble, all most people need is for someone to open their eyes. After that, a person's choices determine their worth, not birth, not their past, simply what they do.

As her record as both an investigator and an agent continued to build, Hagen recommended her to the military, knowing that there was a substantial need for skills such as hers, especially when dealing with outlying areas or the lawless sectors of the cities.

One key event that set her on the path to not only eliminate the worst of society, but to save those who were worth saving was a moment in her early military career when a fire in the barracks almost claimed the life of a noble who had proven to be rather arrogant, looking down on those with different religious views or background. It wasn't that he was not a good man, just full of himself, and something inside Liandra saw the potential for somebody who could make an impact in the world if he had the opportunity to wake up.

With no thought for her own safety, she charged back into the burning building, risking life and limb to drag the massive man free of the burning beam that had trapped his foot, and when they emerged, side by side, she could see in his eyes that something had changed, there was more than gratitude, more than shame even, what she saw were the eyes of a man whose view of the world was turned on its head.

Sam'hain, a good man, who developed into a staunch friend. They'd worked together a few times over the years, and Liandra considered him as dependable as he was predictable. She could always count on him to do the right and noble thing, an interesting contrast to her philosophy of putting her moral compass ahead of rules, regulations, religion and law. While he was definitely a holy warrior and would on occasion imply that she was in fact doing the will of some god or another, their conversations were always interesting to say the least.

Her focus and hard work has caused her superiors to take notice, an interesting shift in the career path of a young woman who could have easily been another corpse in a back alley. Liandra's travels across the realm, would introduce her to the person who would have perhaps the biggest impact on her life.

With her background, Liandra had many friends in the world of prostitution, both on a social level and as excellent contacts and sources of information. After completing a solo mission and meeting up with a few of her friends, she came across rumor of a girl who was gradually putting everyone else in her section of town out of business, her demand rising continuously as client after client told their friends.

While some voiced resentment and half meant comments that someone should scar her to reduce the competition, others expressed a genuine concern that based on the stories of the girl's age she had to be somewhere around 12 or 13 when she started, and there was talk of mean spirited parents as well. The irony of the possibility of someone being forced into the life at the same age where preventing her daughter from being introduced too early cost her mother her life, struck deep within Liandra, and she knew then that she had to see for herself, and if things were as the rumors said, she would do something about it.

Making her way to what had become the most profitable brothel in the city, Liandra planned her course of action, determined to see if any of the other bizarre stories about this girl were true, she cut her forearm, a well placed wound that while painful and wicked looking did no major damage and wouldn't impact her much before it healed.

Upon entering she saw what must have been the girl's father, a cruel looking man with a twisted sneer, a man who had an inflated idea of how tough or dangerous he was because those he abused were weaker than he was. Liandra had made many a man like him beg her to make the pain stop, when they got too caught up in their own delusions. She paid the man the exhorbitant fee and entered the room, intent on meeting this girl for herself and talking to her.

The rumors and stories had left her completely unprepared for the person that stood before her. At about sixteen, the young woman before her was beyond a shadow of a doubt the most beautiful human being Liandra had ever seen. Skin that seemed to have never been touched by the sun, yet with an opalescent shimmer, hair of a deep irridescent purple that seemed natural, and large innocent eyes of almost infinite depth, violet with gold radiating from the center. As prepared as she was for the meeting she was speechless in those first few moments.

The girl began to disrobe, a movement that broke Liandra out of her daze, the movements meant to be seductive, yet made by one without the guile for seduction, a submissive movement that carried a deep resignation and incredible sadness. To Liandra, skilled at reading people's actions and motivations those first few moments confirmed everything she had feared was true.

"There's no need for that, girl. Tell me your name." she said, the building anger in her making the words come out sterner than she intended.

Ste stammered her name out in reply, unconsciously flinching slightly. Iridae.

Liandra took a deep breath, steadying her emotions as she rapidly planned her next action. She spoke to Iridae, calmly, comfortingly asking her if this was a life she wanted or enjoyed or if she was being forced to do it, knowing the answer before it came.

Perhaps completely at a loss to having her needs even considered, Iridae simply shrugged, until she noticed the cut on Liandra's arm, gently reaching and brushing her fingertips along it, healing the wound with a warm almost indescribably pleasant sensation. The final confirmation of how special the woman before her was solidified her resolve, and she instructed Iridae to gather whatever she wanted to take with her, as her days as a prostitute were over.

Perhaps it was the impending violence in Liandra's eyes, or the deadly grace with which she moved, but when she told the girl's father that she was leaving with her, his resistance was nominal. A pity since a part of her wanted nothing more than to drive a blade into the bastard's throat.

That day changed both their lives drastically, Iridae choosing to remain at Lilandra's side ever since. Over the past three years their travels have taken them all over the realm, working with others on missions for the good of the kingdom, all the while Liandra has tried to help draw Iridae out of the fortress she created for herself, walled by fear, shyness and misplaced shame. Learning Celestial was something she never even considered, much less the likelihood of finding someone who spoke the language who would teach it to someone like her, yet she learned to speak it fluently as a way of communicating with her companion when nervousness scrambled her tongue.

If nothing else, Liandra's life to date has proven to her that all of life is simply a matter of choice.

Description

Spoiler:

Liandra

Tall, athletic, darkly beautiful and just a little bit scary. This is how people describe Liandra....as long as she's out of earshot. Her dark hair usually covers her face obscuring eerily stange eyes combining the elven alienness with almost crystalline grey human eyes.

Usually dressed in form fitting black leather armor that leaves her shoulders and arms bare, a black bladed short sword on her hip, kukhri in the small of her back, and knives both visible and hidden on her person, her almost unnatural prediliction for blades is disturbingly evident.

When this girl enters a room it feels as if the night itself has answered a summons, that is, unless she chooses not to be noticed.
