Hru Gorumgrag |

Sir Manfred asks; "How are we dividing up the area to be scouted? It's good to have a plan before we split up."
Hru hisses a low reply, "We should just get a table in back, act thugly and keep our ears and eyes open for the Baron's men. They may be dressed as civilians, but your experience will be helpful weeding out a military man."
He then puts on his dullest stare and stumps after Liandra.
"Yarp, room Ostler?" he calls after Galadar's query

At The Dead Well:

"Well best be polite" Eria mentions to Knotty before proceeding to knock on the door.
At The Lodge:
An elven man hovering over a table of hunters waves a hand to gesture you to come in. Talk is low and quiet in the large log room. The room could easily sit twenty people. Only five are there including Tandifor and the woman.

"Sound's good. I'll take a room for myself and two more for my men. Also the wagon can be parked in the yard but if you can have someone take the gear in it to our rooms, I would be obliged. We will likely be in town for a few days, resting from our recent journey."
I hand over a platinum coin.

Benn Willhuff seems surprisingly unimpressed by Galadar's more than required payment of a platinum coin. He looks at the coin, then looks at Galadar and says quietly, "No grifting either. Not without giving me a cut."
"Grifting? As in a scheme? My good man, I think one of us misunderstands the other. I am giving you this coin with the understanding that it should cover our expenses while we are here and at the end of our stay, if I am satisfied, you can keep whatever is left and if I am not, I shall expect to recieve my change. The only profit I expect to make this trip is already in the hands of my business partner Gaskar who I expect might be along shortly to seek a room for himself. In short, my business is already done and I anticipate spending the next few days taking in the sights of this charming community."
I give him my most winningest merchant smile and then proceed to make sure the room I am given is suitable.

Benn gazes at you steadily, attempting to assess you but, in the end, decides he doesn't really care and growls for a boy to take you to your rooms. The rooms are clean and well-kept but not fancy.

After seeing to my room, I leave Mannfred and Hru to spy things out in the common room and head out into the village to get a lay of the land and look for possible informants.
I'll be getting a map up tonight. As for your trip around the village, we'll take it one street at a time. It isn't a very big village. I'll assume, at first, that you go back down the street towards the center of town where you unloaded goods at the Tucket's shop, Forest Bounty and describe shops between here and there once I get the map up.

Tarren the Dungeon Master |

Eria Bows a little before Introducing herself.
"Oh hello I'm Eria Brisbane. The man in charge of the caravan I was helping to guide a Mr Gaskar said this was the local hunting lodge?"
"It was," says the elf called Tandifor. "It was the local hunting lodge and still is for those who hunt those with four-legs but not those with two."

Tarren the Dungeon Master |

As I'm too lazy to try shading in areas as yet unexplored, we'll assume that your intelligence gathering earned you this lovely overview of the town and the Keep. As of yet, you have only travelled down 'Keep Road' to the center of town. Erie and Knotty have also went down Mine Cart Road to the Lodge.
Any questions about the map?

Galadar:

Hru Gorumgrag |

"Ale! Yarp!" Hru tries his best to seem dull as he queries the barkeep
Sense motive to discern the wolves from the sheep, as they are no doubt trying on us
Hru sits and listens never drinking a drop of his ale (he has learned that he could get sentimental if he drinks) but sloppily spilling it down his front to give the impression of quaffing.

Tarren the Dungeon Master |

Hru, warned that the tavern was being watched, is able to pick two men out of the crowd that he suspects are guards. Each sits alone at a table, back to the wall, from where they can see the door and most of the room. Their tables are positioned so that they can see each other the opposite sides of the room without turning their heads. As they are the only two men in the place not talking with friends, gambling, or eyeing the barmaid, they stand out.

Sir Manfred VonFalkenburg |

"Ale, yeah." Sir Manfred looks around.
Sense Motive: (1d20-1=1)
Everything appears to be in order.

Knotty Ashe |

"Hi I'm Ashe, pleased to meet you. So was this lodge for bounty hunters too? I heard your Baron is a piece of work, he have something to do with the way you folks hunt now?" Knotty smiles politely.

Tarren the Dungeon Master |

"Ale, yeah." Sir Manfred looks around.

Everything appears to be in order.
Manfred notices two men sitting at tables alone and thinks they'd make excellent recruits--hearty, strong fighting types, obviously disaffected. Surely he should approach them about overthrowing the Baron.

I approach the halfling in front of the store with a hearty wave and a smile.
"Thank you for the recomendation concerning the tavern. It looks like it will be just perfect for the few days I will be staying in yout fair town. Any suggestions for sights to see while I take my semi-daily constitutional?"
My plan, following a brief chat with Tucket, will be to walk the length of this street, turn to the right and then circle back down dawn lane.

Tarren the Dungeon Master |

Diplomacy check 14+2=16.
Knotty shrugs under the gaze, and prepares for problems with this hunter. "I apologise if my comments offend, I'm not from Piren's Bluff."
"No apology needed. It is unusual to hear anyone speak so of the Baron within the walls of Piren's Bluff. You should be more circumspect. ... Enter. Many of our friends have been recruited into the Baron's forces and we have more food than we can eat," Tandifor looks over your shoulder at the still open door before adding. "Do sit down."
Perception check, Knotty.

Tarren the Dungeon Master |

Sir Manfred nudges Hru. "Those two men there, they seem like perfect candidates for rebellion." He points them out quietly, over his ale. He starts to get up to go over there and talk to them.
If Hru posts stopping you within the next 24 hours, I'll let him. Otherwise ...

Galadar continues down the street. On his right is a large rowdy pub. Two empty suits of armor stand guard by the door. An old greatsword is chained from the roof, under which hangs a placard proclaiming this place to the 'The Conqueror's Blade'.
On the his left, is a quiet building. On either side of the door stand two brass statues of a handsome man with horns on his head. Each of the iron doors is embossed with glowing pentagrams.
You haven't quite made it to the corner yet, but we'll take this walk slowly. There's a lot to see.

Tarren the Dungeon Master |

As Galadar reaches the front gates of the Keep -- the point at which Piren's Bluff gives way to the Vendikon's Keep -- he notices an unusual combination of buildings: a kennel and a fenced in yard holds several noisy dogs; just behind it, is a large estate that obviously belongs to someone who could have chosen less noisy neighbours. These are on Galadar's left on the road known as dusk lane.
Galadar circles to the right, up dawn lane. Houses of various sizes can be found on either side of the street. A long stable and a fenced-off yard full of horses and ponies is off the road in the butting up against the wall of the Keep in the southwest corner of the town. The sign over the gate reads "Terron's Yard".
Assuming you continue up the lane...
Galadar reaches the corner of Dawn Lane and Mine Cart Road. On his left is a building without a sign but obviously not a private home. Iv covers most of the walls and the stained glass windows display different kinds of plants. A large black candle burns in a candleholder over the door.

Liandra Nightwind |

Hru Gorumgrag |

"Wait, Sir Manfr....err" He cuts off Manny's name remembering they're incognito.
"We're not here to recruit....and those fellows look to be what we want to avoid-excess attention." says Hru in hushed tones.
"We should just keep our eyes and ears open...I think someone is supposed to contact us. WE'RE supposed to be the sellswords." he continues trying to keep his voice below the general bar din.
He shrugs his shoulders and takes a small sip of ale preparing mentally for the worst. Scanning the room for other possible exits and foes.

Tarren the Dungeon Master |

Liandra quietly takes in the room, eyes and ears taking in all that she can. She also attempts to guage the tone of the room and their reactions to the newcomers.
Liandra notices two men, wearing identical boots, sitting alone on opposite sides of the room watching her out of the corner of their eyes. She has no ideas why they are doing that.
She notices Manfred getting up and start to walk towards one of them before Hru pulls him back. She has no idea why Hru wants to stop Manfred from making friends.

Knotty Ashe |

"Hmmm, those birds smell good. I missed second breakfast getting here so they look even better to my tummy. Better eat before anyone presses me into the militia, sounds like your mates didn't want to join up. Must be good hunting round here, I guess?"
Knotty licks his lips at the greasy birds popping and spluttering away on the spits.

Tandifor begins to answer but then glances at the open door again. He gets up, walks over, and closes the door. By the surprised reaction of the hunters and the wolf, you get the impression this is a very unusual event. The wolf sulks away its tail hanging low as if he had been personally reprimanded.
"Some did. I did not." is all Tandifor says before returning to the stove and continue to roast the birds.
