Optional Mints?

Rise of the Runelords

I was just flipping through my order history (I don't know why, I need to get out more) when I spotted the following:

Pathfinder #1—Rise of the Runelords Chapter 1: "Burnt Offerings" (OGL) Print Edition NON-MINT

This has left me somewhat baffled - I haven't received mints with any of the other issues, and yet they don't specify non-mint; in fact I don't recall being given mints as an option at all.

I am now confused - have I missed out on a special Paizo Mint(TM) that only goes to the chosen few, or is this some darker secret that only stays within the confines of Paizo HQ? Have I in fact been misled altogether, and there are no Paizo Mints (TM), merely a deception designed to cause paranoia on my part?

In the words of a famous Australian Elder Stateswoman:

The mints were included with the first run of Burnt Offerings just in case the GM was moved to sing the goblin song, so that any offensive breath wouldn't drive off new players to Pathfinder.

Later installments in the adventure paths were less likely to cause the GM to break into song, and thus, the mints were discontinued.

So, if you have the "Non-Mint" copy, just remember to be careful if you do decide to break into song, for the sake of your players.

Yeah, I remember running that one. I left my mint at home and you should have seen the outcome. Needless to say earliest TPK I ever had.

Well that makes much more sense.

I'll have to trawl through the Paizo Store to see if it's possible to order individual Paizo Mints (TM) in time to run the Rise of the Runelords.

Otherwise I'll have to skip it and go with 'Dungeonland' again.
