I am going to be running a Zombie apocalypse one shot game for Halloween this year and was wondering if anyone has any ideas for RPG sources that have it. Don’t want any magic or arcane like flavor to it. Thinking of just good old fashioned disease causing the dead to rise up and devour the living.

Palladium just released a zombie game called Dead Reign. I haven't had a chance to look into it much but I know if begins with a disease and then your typical outbreak followed by the collapse of civilization. I believe there may be some sort of cult magic built into the system but I may be wrong. I seem to remember reading something about evil cultists trying to control the zombies.... There are only two books out for it now so at least your investment would be limited.

I saw this one but was wondering if I had to get Deadlands to go with it.

May I recommend this little gem

You do not. I bought the core book for All Flesh a few years ago and my group and I break it out every now and then for a night of pure zombie apocalypse bliss. Everything you need is in that one book.

The rules are flexible, character creation is skill based so you can be whatever you want to be and it's just a whole lot of fun.

All Flesh Must Be Eaten is a very fun game, I would recommend that one as well.

I'll make sure to pick it up then. If nothing else I'm sure I can take some information from it. Thanks to everyone for the help. I'll look into all products.

Yep,very cool game and the core book id fine all by its self, however they have expansion books to flavor things with pretty much whatever setting spice you like.
