Lurean blow nearly brings the troll to its knees and for the first time it allows a wail of pain to emerge from chilled lips.

The noise is dwarfed by the crashing of huge wings and above the ice shelf, Colzath's call is answered. Kurikveareri rises. This can only be the dragon Morthalat warned you about.

Calmly arrogant, the huge white beast surveys the battlefield and looks at you all with inhuman disdain. Finally he utters one word only.

"Die."

Elf Avenger/Zealous Assassin/Harbringer of Doom 23

"No matter how many allies you call to your aid, you shall not escape your punishment." Theren steps forward and, in one quick motion, slices into her and sends her into his previous space.

Move to O12 and attacking with Overwhelming Strike(shift to N12, C into O12) Censure of Pursuit should apply. 1d20 + 28 ⇒ (11) + 28 = 391d20 + 28 ⇒ (8) + 28 = 362d12 + 24 ⇒ (6, 12) + 24 = 42

Yup. Oath of Emnity applies.

Colzath snarls as Theren's blade rips through her.

The befuddled trolls whack about wildly with their ice mauls, not entirely clear what has happened to them due to Lavender's shadowy attack.

Less flustered than the others, T1 at least has the sense to take advantage of the flanking iceling and unleashes its most devastating attack on Theren.
T1 v Tavar (AC). On hit target takes ongoing 10 cold damage and is immobilised (se both) (1d20+34=54, 4d8+10=30). Crit. 27hp damage to Tavar. 5 ongoing cold damage and immobilised (resist factored in)

T2 looks gormlessly around at where he thinks an enemy might be, but can see nothing to attack.

T3 spots Lurean at its feet and tries to clout him with the maul.
Troll 3 v Lurean (AC) (1d20+32=40, 2d8+10-5=14)
Lurean's armour allows him to completely ignore the attack.

Neither troll can extinguish the flames surrounding them and T3 is now looking very vulnerable indeed.
Saves v ongoing fire (1d20=9, 1d20=9)

Colzath shifts away from Theren and fires a freezing ray of cold at him from her twisted black staff. To her discomfiture, it hits only the ground.
Freezing Bolt (Ref) - on hit target is slowed to end of its next turn Colzath v Theren (1d20+29=30, 3d8+9=26). Epic fail ...

male Human Warlock (fey/star)/Hexer/Magister level 23

Smiling benignly at the icy fey in front of him, Alasandro moves away, deftly avoiding the clawing attack.
OA v Alasandro (AC) (1d20+26=27, 2d10+8 =19). More epic fail. Quite glad of that in this case as good old Alasandro has celebrated his return to active service by taking lots of damage.

He drops curses on I1 and Colzath before taking a long look at the battlefield. Finally, he comes to a decision and with the air of one clearing the ground for convenience, sends an eldritch blast into the stricken T3.

Eldritch Blast v Troll 3 (Ref) (1d20+23=40, 2d10+10=22, 3d8=11)

There is a solid thud as the creature hits the ground and Alasandro disappears from view, reappearing again close to Lavender.

"Invigorating."

Tavar is immobilised at the start of his turn. Do you still want to use the attack without shifting? You'd hit everyone except I4.

Male Deva Cleric 22

Yes and I know I'll take OAs.

Apologies both for the delay and the rather flavour-free update. Home rolling, guys. Copying for safety changes the numbers on the in-house roller and IC is down.

Tavar - still need a save v ongoing 5 cold from you.

As Tavar launches his assault, I4 takes the opportunity to drag icy claws down the cleric's back.
1d20+28=46 - hits. Does [/b]2d10+8=14 cold damage (after resist 5)[/b]

For the icelings and the trolls within range, Tavar's attack wrecks havoc, hitting all the frostbound creatures and bloodying one of the icelings (I2). The icelings counter-attack.

I1 tries to claw at both Alasandro and Lavender. It hits both the feeble pair fair and square, doling out substantial damage before skittering giggling away over the ice.
1d20+26=34 v Alasandro; 1d20+28=35 v Lavender
2d10+8=19hp damage to Alasandro; 23hp damage to Lav.
Power allows it to shift 5 as a free action if it hits both targets.

I2 can only see either Tavar or the troll and takes the clerical option.
1d20+28=42; 2d10+8=18hp damage to Tavar (after resist)

I3 moves to flank Tavar and despite having every advantage, misses completely.
Yes, he rolled a 1.

I4 tries to make up lost ground and does not better.
2. Good grief. How footling can you get?

Despite their general failure, the icelings look satisfied to have surrounded the pesky cleric and exchange happy glances with each other.

I3's attack misses trigering my Counterstrike Guards, if an melee attack misses I can make an melee basic attack against it.

Attack vs. AC 1d20 + 19 ⇒ (20) + 19 = 39 critical hit Damage = 23

Save vs, cold = 1d20 ⇒ 9

The pristine landscape starts to take on an almost carnival aspect as blood flows freely from friend and foe alike. Genryu's mighty blow bloodies I3 and does severe damage to I4.

Colzath stares in mingled horror and outrage as the consequences of her failed attack on Theren come home to roost.

Attempting a rather tricky evocation, Lavender works to clear the battlefield and at the same time to slow down the threat of the great dragon, but the results are decidedly unimpressive.

Lurean moves back and brings his frigid blade to bare on on of the creatures. "Tavar, pick up the pace."
Move: shift to P4
Minor: Inspiring word on Tavar - target can spend a healing surge and (1) regain additional 5d6 hp or (2) make a save.
Stand: Frigid Blade vs. I3's AC cold damage - If the target starts its next turn adjacent to you, it takes a -1 penalty to speed until the end of its next turn.
1d20 + 28 ⇒ (7) + 28 = 352d6 + 2d8 + 14 ⇒ (2, 5) + (8, 1) + 14 = 30 assuming they are huminoids otherwise disregard the 2d6dam

Spoiler:
Note lurean's epic destiny feature: Lingering Cold: When you hit a target w/ a cold attack, it loses its resistance to cold (if any) until the end of your next turn. In addition, enemies you hit with attack powers that have the cold keyword take a -5 penalty to saving throws made to end any ongoing effects these powers create. Each time an enemy fails a saving throw to end one of these effects, that enemy gains vulnerable cold 15 until the end of your next turn.

Male Deva Cleric 22

Using HS = 5d6 ⇒ (6, 5, 4, 1, 5) = 21
regains 55HP no longer bloodied.

Thank you for the extra vim, I shall endevor to regroup ASAP.

Advance apologies for the wall of text. Kurikveareri has a lot of powers going for him and a nasty aura.

Lurean's destiny stands him in good stead as he sends healing power pouring into Tavar and finishes off an iceling.

Alasandro smiles slightly. "I was going to curse it. Too late now." he says happily as the dragon alters it's wingspeed and begins an approach flight.

As the gigantic creature lands, it sends a blast of cold into the battlefield, which as it turns out is more of a gesture than an attack. Of the targeted group, only Lurean is hit at all, and his own resistances save him from some of the effects.

Kurikveareri stares down the eladrin.

"What can you know of the power of winter, fool?"

Breath weapon (ref) v T2, Tavar, Lurean, Genryu (1d20+27=33, 1d20+27=32, 1d20+27=42, 1d20+27=28). Hah. Even missed the troll, the rolls were that bad. Hits Lurean.

Damage. Target is slowed and weakened (se) both. Gets to make secondary attack v Fort. (8d6+9=36). 21hp damage to Lurean.

Secondary attack v Fort. On hit target's cold resistance is negated to the end of the encounter. Kurikveareri v Lurean (1d20+27=32). Miss ...

Snarling the dragon turns on the whole party.
"You will fear me before you die."

So great is the dragon's impact that even the trolls seem affected by the bitter cold emanating from it.

AP. Frightful Presence. Close burst 10, enemies only. On hit target is stunned to the end of Kurikveareri's next turn and takes a -2 penalty to attack rolls (se).

Frightful Presence (Will): Tavar, Lurean, Genryu, Alasandro, Lavender, Theren (1d20+27=29, 1d20+27=44, 1d20+27=41, 1d20+27=28, 1d20+27=33, 1d20+27=34)

Hits Lurean, Genryu, Lavender and Theren. All four are stunned to end Kurikveareri's next turn and are then at -2 to attacks (se)

Aura effect: T1, T2, Genryu and Theren take 30 cold damage; Tavar takes 25 cold damage; Lurean takes 15 cold damage.

Standing firm, Alasandro looks the dragon in the eye. "Curse you," he says simply.

Immediate reaction then an enemy targets you with a ranged or area attack.

Please post in init order even if you're stunned, as I'm not sure what fancy stuff we've all got to counter-act that.

Shifting in front of Lavender and cursing I4 and T2, Alasandro ignores his wounds and calls on the powers of his far realm masters to let him swap places with Colzath.

His masters answer in superb style and the icemage falls dead to the ground even as the warlock himself disappears to the far end of the battlefield. Colzath's abrupt demise allows him to get fully clear of the devastating aura and he shakes off the poison damage and waves cheerfully to Lav.

"Wonderful view from here dear chap. You should try it."

To their clear discomfiture, the dragon, troll and icelings feel their ability to harm drain away as Tavar's stern figure reproaches them with a glowing glyph of peace. Save = 1d20 ⇒ 11 saves.

Noted. I'll update when once Lurean or Genryu go.

Male Eladrin Warlord 22/Paragon Swordmage/Ruler of Winter Epic Destiny

I'm stunned. Can I make a OA? Here's my saves in order cold, fear, poison: 1d20 ⇒ 81d20 + 2 ⇒ (17) + 2 = 191d20 ⇒ 14

Male Eladrin Warlord 22/Paragon Swordmage/Ruler of Winter Epic Destiny

forgot to add save vs slow & stunned: 1d20 ⇒ 9
OA just in case: 1d20 + 28 ⇒ (7) + 28 = 352d8 + 14 ⇒ (8, 7) + 14 = 29

edit: i'm bloodied

Sorry. My fault. No OA. The conditions list is so long at the moment I'm having trouble keeping track.

Anyway, for clarity's sake, Lurean has saved v fear and poison, but not cold or slow. No need to save v stun. That wears off at the end of Kurikeaveri's next turn. He's bloodied.

I'll take all that into account when it gets to your turn and I'll update the map with your bloodied status when I get back from watching a couple of my students in the local talent show.

Genryu is up but is stunned and can't do anything unless he has something up his sleeve I don't know about.

Currently at 131 hp.

Cleansing Earth (immediate reaction) vs Poison 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (6) + 8 = 14

Font of Life vs Cold 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (18) + 1 = 19

Well atleast I don't have to worry about the ongoing, but not getting to act sucks

Male Deva Wiz 23 / Cleric / Divine Oracle / Sage of Ages

No action. Save vs attack penalty 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (7) + 2 = 9. Sigh.

Tavar's symbol still glowing above his head, Kurikeaveri can do no direct harm, but moves menacingly forward to catch Lavender in his aura along with the rest of the party.

"Freeze tiny insects. Freeze and die." The voice grows more triumphant as the dragon feels his powers return to him.

save v no damage (1d20=12)

Kurikveareri - cursed by Alasandro

Elf Avenger/Zealous Assassin/Harbringer of Doom 23

Since I forgot the +2 bonus to the attack penalty before, I no longer have an attack penalty. Also, I'm bloodied.

Theren takes a moment to catch his breath and shake the frost off his limbs before stepping away from the troll and to the dragon. "You, dragon. You aid our enemies and block us from our holy mission. You shall be punished." Then, as he slashes into the dragon's flank, he appears in front of it, shrouded in divine force.

Using my Second Wind to spend a healing surge, using Refocus Enmity on the dragon, moving to O8, then spending an AP to use Vengeful Recovery (target dazed(save ends) and I heal as if I spent a HS, Miss: Half, dazed until next turn and I can spend a HS), using Divine Shroud Action to teleport to M5 and be concealed until end of my next turn. 1d20 + 28 ⇒ (15) + 28 = 431d20 + 28 ⇒ (6) + 28 = 343d12 + 12 ⇒ (10, 2, 1) + 12 = 25 Saving Throw: 1d20 ⇒ 18

Theren gathers himself and ensures that Kurikeaveri's attention is where it belongs. On him.

Theren - are you still bloodied?
Lurean - does Theren get any benefits from using an AP?

For one troll, the continued cold is too much even for their renowned regenerative abilities and the great creature falls frozen to the ground.

As T2 falls, Alasandro risks teleporting closer, the better to add to the mayhem.

For the remaining troll, the wounds opened by the cold are greater than his regeneration can help and it watches, astonished, as newly closed wounds open up again, worse than before, bloodying it.

Seeing Genryu in front of it, it matches maul for maul.
T1 v Genryu (AC) (1d20+32=45, 2d8+10=17). 17hp damage to Genryu.

Forgot to mention it, I'm not bloodied now, just between the beginning of the turn and I believe after I used Vengeful Recovery. Also, I saved against the -2 to attack on the round I was stunned once I add in the +2 to the save I forgot.

male Human Warlock (fey/star)/Hexer/Magister level 23

Feeling attuned to his powers for once, Alasandro lets fly with a series of mercifully unintelligble words which wrack the bodies of his cursed foes.

The dragon and one of the icelings howl as the brutal effects hit.

Cursegrind. Close burst 20 affecting all cursed creatures. Which would be Kurikeaveri (rolled separately due to CA from dazing), T1, I1 and I4.

Cursegrind v T1, I4, I1 (fort) (1d20+23=25, 1d20+23=30, 1d20+23=37). Hits I1.

damage to I1 (2d10+11=28)

Separate roll for the same attack on Kurikaeveri...
Cursegrind with CA (Fort) v Kurikeaveri (1d20+25=45, 2d10+11=18, 3d8=16)
Blimey. Um. OK. So, that's 31 necrotic from the attack itself, 24 from the curse and a further 5d10 from the vicious rod which is proving worth its weight in hp.
Crit damage with vicious rod (5d10=24)
Total damage 79.

Clearly he's on a roll. Also, got to take advantage of the daze as there's no way he can hit him without that CA.

Plague of Frogs (Fort) v Kurikveareri an I4 (1d20+24=37, 1d20+24=33)
Hits neither of them...

With another small gesture, and a quirk of his eyebrows, Alasandro conjures a zone of carnivorous frogs to harry the party's foes.

Zone remains and can be moved 1 as a minor action or 3 as a move action. Zone counts as difficult terrain. Any creature entering the zone or starting its turn there takes 2d8+11 poison damage.

Apologies, Theren. Map and list amended.

Tavar Chants a prayer for more protection from the Dragon casting Wall of Blades.

A wall of blades 2 squares high running through squares N7 down to Q7 and curving to an end in R8 appears. Any creature starting their turn or enters takes 3d6+8 damage plus 5 ongoing damage.
The wall is also difficult terrain.

Minor action; cast Healing Word on Theran, spend a healing surge and gain 6d6 + 8 ⇒ (5, 1, 3, 5, 3, 3) + 8 = 28 extra HP.

Spend an action point and move to G1 and use second wind (+2 to Defenses until the start of my next turn), extra healing from magic item 1d6 + 8 ⇒ (5) + 8 = 13

No longer bloodied.

Rev:
here is a list of my effects on others:
(1) Allies w/in 10 get +2 item bonus to saves vs. fear [item];
(2) when anyone spends an action point and makes an attack, that attack gains +19 to damage or, if the attack misses, then you gain 16 temporary hp;
(3) if an ally is bloodied and I am conscious, then the ally gains +1 to all defenses;
(4) all allies within 10 squares gain a +6 to initiative.
(5) each ally w/in 5 of you gains +2 item bonus to his/her healing surge value.

Currently at 84 hp. Bloodied to all hell

Genryu swings his maul as a counter to the trolls

Curtain of Steel (immediate reaction) 1d20 + 26 ⇒ (17) + 26 = 43; Damage 6d6 + 26 ⇒ (1, 4, 1, 2, 3, 6) + 26 = 43; Miss: 8 damage

With a word, Tavar creates a knive wall between his companions and the oncoming foes.

Almost on instinct, Genryu smashes the last troll into obvlivion, watching as it shatters into a thousand small pieces in the bitter cold.

Bloodied by the fire, I1 flies clumsily around the blade wall and claws at Lavender. The creature continues to burn.
Claw (AC) v Lav (1d20+28=47, 2d10+8=24) 24hp damage to Lav
Home rolling: IC tectonically slow:
1d20=8 - failed save v ongoing fire damage.

I2 screams aloud as the blades bite deep into it. Already dazed the fey creature can do little other than advance on Lurean with hatred in its eyes.
3d6+5=12 damage and 5 ongoing (se)

Surrounded by feverishly biting frogs, I4 is in little better condition. Unable to harm and suffering itself, it struggles free of the zone of amphibians and advances on Alasandro.
2d8+11=21 poison damage.
1d20+12 - saves v attacks do no damage

Lavender casts a swift spell, inuring his nearby allies against the worst of the cold. He then vanishes from next to the iceling and reappears on the far side of the dragon, casting yet another little-used spell, this one intended to take control of the dragon's flight, and catch one of the icelings as well.

Only took 20; Sliver gives me resist 10. Bloodied anyway. Minor: Cast Mass Resist, giving self and everyone but Alasandro (sorry) Resist Cold 18 through encounter (of course does not stack). Move: Cast Dimension Door to I16. Standard: Soul Puppets vs K and I4. Vs K: Will (roll twice): 1d20 + 26 - 2 ⇒ (12) + 26 - 2 = 36 1d20 + 26 - 2 ⇒ (13) + 26 - 2 = 37 Memory 1d6 ⇒ 6. 43 vs K Will. Vs. Male Eladrin Warlord 22/Paragon Swordmage/Ruler of Winter Epic Destiny

Muttering under his breath, "Time to screw your courage to the whipping post," Lurean steps up to the dragon.
Move: shift to O5
Minor: Inspiring word on self
5d6 + 33 ⇒ (4, 5, 3, 6, 5) + 33 = 56
Stand: Renew the troops vs. dragon's AC 1d20 + 28 ⇒ (17) + 28 = 453d8 + 14 ⇒ (7, 7, 3) + 14 = 31 Each ally who has line of sight to you regains hp as if s/he had spent a healing surge plus 3hp.
Miss: Each ally who has line of sight to you regains 13 hp.
Saves: ongoing cold & slowed/weaken
1d20 ⇒ 101d20 ⇒ 4

Could you all confirm your bloodied/unbloodied status in your next posts please - taking note of Lurean's healing which was a hit, so everyone gets a surge+3 of hp back.

Lurean restores heart to his companions and Lav somehow manages to bypass the dragon's mental defenses to immobilise the great beast.
Lav - please note that you had to use Memories to hit K.

Immobilised, surrounded by hopping frogs and with spirit blades digging deep, Kurikeaveri suffers before he can act.

2d8+11 frog damage = 20
3d6+5 blade damage = 16

Wily as it is the beast claws twice at Theren.
"Die, little elf. Die now."

Dragon's fury. Two claw attacks. If both hit, K makes a bite attack as well.
1d20+29 (AC) = 31 - boo
1d20+29 (AC) = 42; 2d12+7 = 19hp damage to Theren. (untyped, not cold

Frustrated, it risks attacks from Theren, Lurean and Genryu and attempts to turn the warden into an icy statue. Cold wraps itself around the ancient goliath and he finds to his horror that he cannot move his limbs at all.
Used second AP. Icy Tomb. On hit target is restrained and stunned (se both). Rechargeable.
1d20+27 (Fort) = 40. 4d12+9 cold damage = 39-18 = 21 cold damage to Genryu, who is also restrained and stunned.
