I'm pairing it with Poutine a la Mairkurion! (Poutine with broken pieces of bacon.) I'm pretty meh on pilsners. (I agree on your pairing with BBQ sauce, however -- in that case, I'd go with Shiner bock.)

I'm pairing the beer with Poutine a la Mairkurion (Poutine with liberal amounts of broken pieces of bacon). I'd agree with your pairing notes if I was going with BBQ (although, I don't care for pilsner. For BBQ, I'd recommend Shiner bock.)

still 5. something... light tremor... (something that doesn't bring buildings down is light, and since there is opanic from the sickness people really didn't took a lot of attention on the tremor)

here in the North there are rummors of infections... still little confirmation, and paranoia is running all its lenght

for those interested to see the problem in the world, check google: swine flu map

since i am half a country away from the highest concentration of the infection i will nto say if its hard or not... my sister is in there and she is taking it lightly (which get my parents on their nerves), a friend has a friend there, his father is a doctor and is quite worried since she is sick...

so... really no much idea in how things really are

Where I live, we've had no cases so far, but I'm getting my stuff ready just in case our dead come back from the grave and this turns into a zombie movie, 'cause it feels like it. There are almost no flu medicines left, nor facemasks left in town.

But I wouldn't know. I have family in Mexico City and they tell me people are going ballistic. I live far away from DF (Mexico City), since I swore I'd never be back to that part of my country unless my life depended on it.

Sydney, Australia. While we do have Chips-&-Gravy and Cheezy Fries here, I don't think I've ever found all three in the same dish at once.

And Poutine looks infinitely more appetising than our own Pie Floater.

I used to get a frozen meat pie cut the top off add mashed potato cheese and bacon then put the lid back put it in the oven (cooking hint: if you are cooking a pastry brush it with milk before you put it in the oven it makes the pastry lighter and crunchier) on and then wander down to the fish and chip shop buy some chips and gravy when I got back the pie was ready for me to float it in the chips and gravy.

useful yes... better a shotgun...

with the crowbar you can kill the zombie... but he might bite you before that... shotgun keeps him away

My wife is a nurse, lots of people coming in telling the doctor they have it, but they don't. Mostly it's standard flu, cold, or a sniffle not worth the time. I live in the Catskills but I have an Uncle in Rochester still I think most of the "cases" you are hearing about right now aren't real. They may become real but right now not so much so.

Thanks on the ones wishing health. I'm going Biohazard here, mask and gloves. Shotgun and crowbar still pending, but I work on a hardware store (not the computer kind of hardware), so that shouldn't be a problem.

On the other hand, so far, authorities are saying that death because of the virus is due to the fact that people dismissed it as normal flu and didn't get checked until it was too late, for Mexico has enough vaccines and the virus is controllable if found early enough. Let's hope this gets controlled, I'm amazed of how many countries have gotten it so far.

Stay safe, all of you.

Indeed, the important thing is to get to a doctor if you're feeling ill. Might be nothing but a cold, but walk in get checked be safe.

If possible do not walk in. If you do happen to be infected, you just spread it around the only people who can help you. Better to phone for a consultation over the phone and be ready to take your temperature and tell them the result.

I don't know, if I am sick I will have a lot of the signs of it. Is there a difinitive way to self check? If so they might as well tell us what it is.

Look for very high fever (101oF and up), burning sore throat, fluid in lungs, diarrhea and/or vomiting.

It's 2-3% of those infected die, not 2-3% of the total population. It's a lot more likely that it's only be 1-2 million. Still a lot, I understand...but let's not get TOO carried away.

A regular case of the flu could produce many of those. But thanks for the info.

It is still a flu virus. The difference is in its genes that might allow it to overcome built-up resistances.
