Here, there be (good?) dragons!

I realize that it is important to the Paizo stuff to include at least a single dragon in each of the APs- and I love it. I think that dragons give a sweet and classic taste to the stories when they are not overused.
However, I am really starting to expect a good aligned dragon NPC to come along sometime. Battling dragon beddies is all very well, but I imagine that they are not the only dragons with significant influence on event. I would really enjoy seeing one in the LoF AP, since I'm going to run it. I understand it might be too late to make changes now, but maybe a good dragon could have a place in Council of Thieves?
Does anyone feel like me? If you do, Aye for metallic dragons!

Actually, we generally don't make a conscious effort to include at least one dragon in each AP... they just kind of show up since they're popular monsters. What we DO do is make sure that whenever a dragon shows up, it's got a LOT of history and personality and backstory. Whenever we just throw in a dragon as a "monster in a room," we hear back from our readers that we're "wasting dragons." :P

As Council of Thieves is outlined right now, there's actually no dragons on schedule to appear; if they DO appear, they'll have been put in by an author.

That said... you can certainly expect a good dragon to appear in a key role in an upcoming Adventure Path! I can't say WHICH Adventure Path yet, though!

wait... if there is no good dragon in the LoF AP and the Council of Thieves AP outline, does that mean you guys already know what will the next AP be about and what key NPCs will we see there? thats nice...

Yeah dude, we do these outlines months (aka weeks, aka days, aka hours) in advance of assigning freelancers to particular adventures. AP #5: Council of Thieves also has a pretty meaty "cast" list, none of which are dragons. Again, not saying that none will make it in, but if one does, it's going to be one of the CoT's authors' additions, not a character intended to be major from the getgo.

Built it, and they will come. That's dragons for you. They're in on the action. Because no one will ever say no to them.

Especially if it's a Brass - because you migth get an invitation to her next party in return...

Hmmm, Hermea-based AP?

There's a drunkard of a copper dragon in Darkmoon Vale. He could certainly be a useful ally in a campaign.

I have an Adventure Path schedule that lists barebones plots all the way through to the end of 2012.

Kingmaker is the 6th, if i recall correctly. Mayhap a wise and noble gold has something to say about a incoming monarch of the river kingdoms?

In Dragons Revisited we get ...

Spoiler:

A copper dragon Tyraxalan, who lives in Westcrown and apparently runs some kind of anti-Chelaxian resistance cell.

Is that going to play any part in Council of Thieves ?
