I'm currently running Second Darkness and my players came to an interesting stop last session. I now find myself not having any ideas for flow or even how to get the next session going.
Now I'm not sure if I should just call the session and play games or try to do something that I'm not sure my heart will be in getting them to their place.

Now I'm not sure if I should just call the session and play games or try to do something that I'm not sure my heart will be in getting them to their place.
Idea: Introduce an NPC who needs them to do X to get them back on track.
If they're hanging out in a town, it's a person coming to them in the bar and saying "save my husband/wife/son/daughter by going here and retrieving/rescuing/doing X".
If they're out in the wild, then make it a wandering NPC that needs their help, or even give one of them a prophetic dream to set them onto their path. Or give each of them a different dream that all come together to give them clues.

Have a group frame them for the murder of a public official, and have them flee from the regions law enforcement. Meanwhile they are in a mad race to find evidence to clear there names, and find out who set them up. All the while the group framing them leaks information to town guards, and knights to keep the group moving. This allows the unknown group to push forth there agenda (insert evil plot here) unopposed.
