Deadliest Warrior?

Silver Crusade

Has anyone else seen this cool show. It shows what if battles between warrior cultures like Vikings Vs.Samuri. They do weapon test on ballistic dummies and collect force and speed of weapons along with stength of armor. Example... The Samuri used a Katana again a stack of three hogs the blade went through two of them, but when they tried against Viking Chain nothing. Very Cool show.

The Exchange

Saw part of Apache vs. Gladiator last week (will look for the rerun to see the whole thing), am about halfway through the Samurai vs. Viking and am looking forward to next week's Spartan vs. Ninja. Cool show. I could totally see wanting to base a character off some of the weapons and styles they show. Definitely a good way to add flavor to a fighter. Double spears for the win!

Tuesdays at 10pm on Spike TV. You can also stream the show from the website.

Reminds me of why 2nd ed Had bashing, slashing damage.

I watched the Apache vs. Gladiator and am not really sold on the show. It was cool don't get me wrong but the whole contrived drama between the 'teams' was really lame. My wife was really rolling her eyes through most of it and I was cringing. It was bad but not bad enough to change the TV.

No I haven't seen the show yet.

Side Rant:

I always have a problem with "the deadliest" type shows. Which weapon, martial art, martial culture, etc. is the best?

Always depends on the situation. Without context the comparisons are useless. Resources, tech levels, cultural challenges, range, weather, terrain, enemy strategy. They all play a significant role in what is deadliest at the time.

Psh, are you kidding? Samurai beats everything! One samurai could slaughter an entire Roman legion, even if he were hung over and suffering from really bad pink eye (so his eyes were all gunked up and stuff). I mean, did you people see the Last Samurai? Dudes with freaking machine guns vs. samurai, and samurai still wins!

Sovereign Court

It was interesting to see how poorly the katana did against the Viking ring mail.

No way! I once saw a dude cut a tank in half with his katana! And I read on Wikipedia that ninjas could totally disregard the laws of buyoancy (and logic) and run across water with special flat shoes.

SO TRUE. But otherwise, I like the show. My friends and I watch it casually and like to bet who will win before the show is over.

I have watched this show a couple of times and I am not impressed. Sure its cool watching how much damage the weapons are doing. I really liked the Gladiators scissor against the side of beef. I like the show on History Channel alot better with Warriors with Terry Schappert. At least with that they show the tactics involved with the fighting styles.

So who all watched the latest episode with the Spartan vs the Ninja? I actually enjoyed this one. I thought they did a better job showing weapon technique in this one.

I did but didn't get to see who won, figure it was the Ninja. They seem to always pick the fast with light armor or tank types. Oh, but next week is Pirates vs. Knight.
