I love that podcast. I just started listening last week, I got from 1 through 24 I think down so far, and it's really gonna stink once I'm caught up and have to wait a week in between shows.
It is a great show. I really enjoy it. Oh, and just wait until you get to Sam Witwer's Luke and Yoda skit on the episode that he's on. Wow . . . he was afraid he wouldn't be getting any more work from Lucasarts after it . . . ;)

"This is Watto for Watto's Basement. Tell them Jabba sent you and get a free chance cube. Ehhh, wanna ya know." I'd love them mini-shows on the Order 66 Podcast but I never listen to it.
All of you get to Episode #41 with the Star Wars opera? I just love that one, wish they had more like that.
As a group what are we going to do next? I spent 7 hours on HK-22, shall I spend more time while we rest and wait for the storm to pass or are we gonna risk an outside expedition?

KEJR, you mentioned having the rulebook with the errata already in it. Did they do a second printing that I didn't hear of, or was it one of their PDF releases or what?
They just released the latest printing of the Saga core books, and it has the updated rules in it. Other than the errata changes, there aren't any differences (i.e. its not an updated edition, per se).
If you run across a book, and the Force powers that are (Telekenetic) have that designator on them, its a reprinted version of the book. So far all of the reprinted versions, ironically, have been shrink wrapped.

And yes, I think the party is going to just sit out the storm. No sense getting constantly zapped now. ;) Besides, we can sit and tell stories!
Oo! Oo! Did you hear the one about the droid that rigs all the battery packs in the Jedis' lightsabers to explode the first time they're turned on? No? Too bad, it's HILARIOUS!
Heh.. Heh...
What?

Oh yes, very funny..... Suddenly I'm very glad that Force Trance leaves you aware of your surroundings.

I'm on 24 or 25 now, I'm catching up fast though.

I was really excited about the new cybernetics and 'cybernetic being' stuff coming out in the newest book (forget the title).
Cybernetics was always cool when I saw them in the movies, but so poorly implemented in the current state. What if I wanted a big hellboy fist to pummel people? How do I make an arm like Bao Dur from Kotor2 etc.
As is, they just replace body parts missing. There has got to be some advanced things you can do with them.

KnightErrantJR |

I'll (hopefully) be picking up the Jedi Academy Training Manual tonight, so over the weekend I can analyze it to see what does and doesn't fly for the campaign.
I believe the book that is going to have advanced cybernetics in it is Galaxy at War, coming out in September. So I guess if you want a really cool replacement, don't loose any limbs until the summer winds down.

Roughly how far is Ceelell and myself away from the crashed ship, and most importantly the transmitter on top of it?
He's about 27 squares away, plus a move action and a climb check, or a really good jump check, away from getting on top of it.
On the other hand, anyone on the Klonsa/Christy/Groodar/Celell side of the ship can take a shot at it fairly easily, as its a decent size target that everyone can see.

I've just started diving into this thing, but so far I love the Training Regimens from the Jedi Academy Training Manual. Its the kind of thing I like, where there is a mechanical benefit for doing something that helps visualize RPing the character.
I'm also really digging the Guardian Spirit Talent Tree so far.

I was guessing that there isn't much in there for a noble type, is there? I'm probably going to eventually pick up the book, but it wasn't very high on my priority list right now. If you spot anything that could be of interest, could you let me know so I could snoop further?
Thanks

Yeah, thus far its been very focused on Force users. I'm only about a third of the way through so far.

So how anal is anyone going to think I am if I restrict Vapaad based lightsaber powers from JATM, since Vapaad was Mace Windu's creation? Also, Trakata doesn't really seem to have been anybody's favored style up until the NJO era.
So far, after reading through JATM and doing some research, I came up with this, but I wanted to run it by everyone:
Force Powers Allowed:
Core (all)
KOTOR CG (all)
FUCG (all)
CWCG (all)
LECG (all except for Dark Transfer, pg 53)
JATM (all except for Fold Space, pg 25; Assured Strike, pg 29; Pass the Blade, pg 33; Swift Flank, pg 34; Tempered Agression, pg 35; Unbalancing Block, pg 35; Vornskyr's Ferocity, pg 36)
Other than that, I figure that even rare Force abilities like Phase or Shatterpoint would be available in the Old Republic era, given the number of Jedi and the various holocrons and archives around the galaxy.
Now, if I ever run that Dark Times campaign, I'd be cutting this down a lot . . . ;)

The above is my revised list, because I was a dork and got my Vapaad and Juyo crossed.

Revised Campaign Standards
Hey all, upon reviewing the Jedi Academy Training Manual as well as doing some other research, I'm posting the revised campaign standards here:
Character Generation
1. Ability Score Generation—Ability scores will be generated using the Planned Generation method on page 18 of the SWSE rulebook.
2. Choosing a Species—The following special rules are in effect in the campaign:
A. Custom droids are allowed as player characters.
B. Check all races with the GM before proceeding to make the character, for approval.
4. Heroic Traits—Destiny is going to be used as a part of the campaign, and the various destinies from the campaign guides are available, with the GM's privious approval.
5. Equipment—All characters start with maximum wealth for their character class, rather than rolling randomly. Characters may begin with any equipment including military grade equipment, but not illegal items. Characters do not need to pay licensing fees for this equipment.
Equipment can come from the Core Saga rulebook, as well as the Knights of the Old Republic Campaign Guide.
6. Rules Subsystems—The starship feats and talents from the Starships of the Galaxy soucebook are available in the campaign. The Unleashed feats and abilities from the Force Unleashed Campaign Guide are also available in the campaign.
7. Persuasion Skill—While the persuasion skill works essensially as described, never assume the price modifications as stated in a blanket fashion in the skill description. In other words, a character that successfully haggles will be able to ask for more than standard on a successful roll, or can buy an item for less on a successful roll, but the actual amount is up to the GM in the given situation.
8. Hit Points Per Level—Characters gain hit point per level at a set rate. Charactes that get 1d6 hit points instead gain 4 + constitution modifier per level. Characters that get d8 hit points per level instead get 5 + constitution modifier per level. Characters that get 10 + constitution modifier per level gain 7 + constitution modifier per level.
9. Force Powers— The following is the list of allowed Force Powers for the Campaign: Core (all), KOTOR CG (all), FUCG (all), CWCG (all), LECG (all except for Dark Transfer, pg 53), JATM (all except for Fold Space, pg 25; Assured Strike, pg 29; Swift Flank, pg 35; Tempered Aggression, pg 35; Unbalancing Block, pg 35)
10. Prestige Classes—When prestige classes become available, any that the GM considers appropirate for the time frame will be considered, depending on the situation and the character. (For example, Military Engineers or Vanguards from the Clone Wars Campaign Guide still make sense, but Imperial Knights from the Legacy Era Campaign Guide do not.)
11. Retraining—Upon gaining a level, a character may retrain a feat or talent, so long as that feat or talent is not itself the prerequisite of another feat or talent. Similarly, a character may retrain a force power or starship maneuver upon gaining a level, but a character can only retrain one of these elements when gaining a level.
Force sensitive characters may retrain the first time they encounter and master a Holocron, if one is found in the campaign, but only if the GM determines that the Holocron in question has the knowledge in it that the character wishes to retrain.
A character cannot retrain the following feats: Force Boon, Force Sensitivity, Force Training, Linguist, Skill Training, Starship Tactics, Unleashed
12. Callling on the Dark Side-- The following variant rule from Jedi Counseling 110 is in effect in the campaign:
Variant Rule: Calling on the Dark Side -- If your Dark Side Score is less than your Wisdom, you can call on the dark side to gain a temporary Force Point. If the Force Point is not used before the end of the encounter, it is lost. Calling on the dark side is a major transgression (see page 94 of the Saga Edition Core Rulebook). Only heroic characters can call on the dark side.
This works even for characters that are not Force sensitive.
“Table” Rules
1.Players can roll dice however they wish. Everything is on the honor system, all that is required is that the “work” is shown (for example, d20 roll 14 + 5 [trained skill] = 19).
2.Initiative in combat will be determined by sides, meaning that the initiative bonus for each side will be averaged, then rolled, and then one entire side will take all of its actions, then the other entire side will take its actions.
For example, all of the PCs together have an average of +4 on initiative. Their enemies have an average of +6. The GM rolls initiative for both sides, and determines that the PCs go first, and each PC can take their action before the enemies take their actions.
This allows combat to move a little faster, as players can take their actions whenever they log onto the thread, until the entire side is resolved.
Items that are in italics are changes from previous Campaign Standard rules.

I posted another round of items in the main thread. Sorry for the delay everyone. I'm going to try to keep up on this, but our son has a lot of people that want to spend time with him, and we're the taxi service ;)
It should be a little less hectic for a while now, though. Friday night we had to pick up my daughter, go to the airport and pick up our son, come back home from Chicago (which takes us about two hours), then get up the next day and take our other daughter to her ACTs.

KnightErrantJR |

Should have posted this sooner, but this weekend has become a bit hectic as we've had a party for my son, our water bed broke, and we've got to get family portraits taken tomorrow, so this weekend I won't be posting alot.
I'll get back to the PBP soon, probably picking up a bit on Monday again. Thanks for your patience. I'm having a really great time with this PBP and I don't want to loose anyone by killing the momentum.
