"Gods... Jurival?" Disgust and pity mingle in Madda's voice as she morphs into wolfhound form and joins the fray, determined to end this fast.

Circling through the stinking fog, she launches herself at her original foe before turning, swift as a snake and attacking the thing that used to be Jurival.

Wild Shape is a free action.
Double move to R37 without provoking OA.
AP. Predator's Flurry.

If I've got this right, she's attacking at +2 (+4 Galad's spirt, -2 stink) and damaging at +2 due to being within 5 squares of SH.

Predator's Flurry (Ref) v Ghoul 4. Shift 3 and make secondary attack on Jurival. If they hit, targets are dazed to end of Madda's next turn. (1d20+16=26, 1d6+10=12, 1d20+16=31, 1d6+10=16)

With luck, that's 12 damage to Ghoul 4, 16 damage to Jurival and both of them are dazed to end of Madda's next turn.

There is also the fog to consider, which renders objects within it Lightly Obscured, giving a -2 to melee and ranged attacks due to concealment. (PHB281)

first attack is a miss, but 2nd is still a hit after all bonuses & penalties are considered.

Knew I'd forgotten something. Still, dazing Jurival can't be all bad. Madda ends up at Q34 - I forgot to say.

Anything that give you an edge is good, IMO. Adjudication later tonight.

Madda:

Spoiler:
On further inspection, your move will not work as written, because squares south of the road are Difficult Terrain, (as noted in the bullet points below the initiative count) and their movement cost will prevent you from completing your circling maneuver, at least from the south.

I've taken the liberty of amending to a similar action, (saving your Action Point in the process!) as follows, pending your approval:
Move: N34
Predator's Flurry (standard) vs Jurival (at -2): Miss
Predator's Flurry Shift: O33, then either P35 or R35.
Predator's Flurry Secondary vs Void-Touched Initiate(#4) (at +0): Hit for 16 and Dazed (save ends)

Spoiler:

Entirely fine. Many thanks for sorting that out. Aren't effects and terrain a right pain to keep track of?

Madda - on four paws now - enters the fray, darting, snapping and growling as she defends her wayward and mismatched little flock. Her jaws crunch down on the rancid flesh of the putrid-smelling creature's leg, tearing away a ragged strip of flesh and calf muscle. Shaking her muzzle in a vain attempt to rid herself of the foul taste, she snarls as her foe twists himself away through the cracks beyond, reappearing but a few steps away in a flailing cloud of thought-shattering energies that curl around herself and her friend Sundered Heart.

The desiccated, wild-eyed form lets out a madman's private chortle and continues his relentless assault on the ruddy-scaled barbarian, adding more ragged lacerations to his already impressive tally of bleeding and debilitating wounds.

VTI(#4): Recharge (6): 1d6=6
VTI(#4): Move: Baleful Step (Teleport, no OA) to P34 (Dazing Madda and SH)
VTI(#4): Action Point
VTI(#4): Double Attack (standard) vs SH (AC): 29 and 31, for 7 and 13 damage and Slowed (save ends)

"Yess... finish him!" commands the crouching figure, watching his minion avidly as he circles around the disoriented wolfhound.

With a perfectly timed thrust, the creature does as ordered, straightening bulge-knuckled fingers into a daggerlike blade and driving them deep into the hollow below Sundered Heart's chin. The dragonborn staggers surprised, coughs a gout of bright blood, then exhales in a moment of private peace as the silver-tinged, ephemeral pinions of the guardian phoenix enfold him, closing his most grievous wounds.

This unexpected resurgence draws invective from the pack's leader. "USELESSSSSSS! Ssssince you can't kill him, do not let him essssscape!!! Cringing and hissing with displeasure, the so-nearly triumphant ghoul shifts to block further retreat.

"Graaah!!" The packleader vents his frustration on Madda, his claws raking down her flank, leaving a trio of painful furrows. The cramps set in immediately, tightening her haunches painfully even as she feels the creature's tongue flicker across her muzzle, leaving caustic spittle burning in its wake.

VTE(#3): Minor: Ghoul Fervor grants VTI(#4) a basic attack vs SH (AC): 1d20+16=36 Crit! Max=24 damage, bringing SH to 0/101 HP
SH: Gets Healing Surge from Silver Phoenix Rage. Now at 28/101 HP
VTE(#3): Shift Q34
VTE(#3): Standard: Ghoul Pack grants VTI(#4) a Shift (to O33), then vs Madda (AC): 34, 12 damage and Slowed (save ends).
VTE(#3): Hit with Ghoul Pack triggers 5 ongoing acid (save ends) to Madda

"You shall see the truth of what you have done!", declares Galad as the ghoul is bathed in holy light. He then circles behind a tree, and Sundered and Madda can feel their wounds mend. Meanwhile, the spirit drifts over to them and lashes out at the undead.

Using Spirit of The Hawk's Wind on Ghoul 1(Standard), moving myself to 34J and my spirit to 34P(move), Healing Spirit on Sundered, with the extra going to Madda(minor), then spending my AP on Defending Strike on 1, refreshing Call to The Blood Dancer. Rolls: (17 vs Will, 19 Radiant(9 Radiant if miss)), 12HP to Madda, (24 vs Reflex, 17 damage)

Madda can't speak, but the small, grateful bark that greets Galad's efforts on her behalf is clear enough.

I am assuming you're using Resurgent Action to refresh ...Blood Dancer, but I think, based on Resurgent Action's wording that you'd have to use the recovered power during your bonus action, instead of Defending Strike. Happily corrected if I have misunderstood, though.

Oh bother. You're right, I never really read the last sentence of the power. Of course, this completely changes the first fight, but who cares about that. Let's go with Call to The Blood Dancer then. Still useful.

No worries about the first fight at all... This whole game has been a learning experience for all of us, I think. It's hard to begin at a higher level, with a whole array of powers you have no practice with, rather than picking them up one at a time. I'm pretty sure that I got some things wrong or overlooked bits as well.

Speaking of overlooked bits, y'all who are slowed should keep Galad's Stalker Spirit Adept feat in mind - it allows anyone adjacent to his spirit companion to shift 1 square (free action) as the first action of his/her turn (in addition to any other shifts or movements you may normally be allowed.)

Also, after seeking some clarification, I should announce that Slow applies only to actions that reference your Speed. If you've been granted a Shift 4, you can use it, despite the 2-square limitation placed by the Slow condition.

Karrn once again infuses his blade with chaos and swings at the nearest undead.

Chaos Bolt vs 1, 1d20+13=29 vs Will; Damage 1d10+13=14 psychic, and I gain a +1 bonus to AC. Also rolled even secondary attck vs 4, 1d20+13=19 vs Will; Damage 1d6=5 psychic, if that hits let me know, doubtful though.

Laz, 2nd Chaos Bolt attack misses. Save vs Slow?

Karrn's sorcerously enhanced dagger punches easily through taut skin, the elemental energies bound to it gnawing at once-Jurival's innards. The creature pays little heed to the wound, intent on avoiding Galad's radiant hawk-spirit as it plummets toward him through tendrils of mist that now dance merrily to the tune of a newfound breeze.

The creature hisses in dismay as it watches blisters rise up the length of the fending arm that shielded it from the worst of the assault, recovering focus just in time to spin away from the ancient blade wielded by Galad's ancestral spirit, which cuts away a rag-tag bit of filthy sleeve only.

Hawk's Wind misses, but Vulnerable 5 Radiant adds to your remaining damage, Galad. ...Blood Dancer also misses, narrowly.

Male Deva Swordmage

Setil moves nimbly into position across from Madda, resolved to free his friend from this curse in the only manner he can think of. Move action - shift to N35

He strikes out defensively, trying to protect himself and Sundered Heart from Jurival's poisonous claws. Standard action - Priest's shield 16 vs. AC +2 flank, +2 Retributive Shield, -2 concealment, -2 reek = 16 total. I'll activate my Couters of Second Chances and reroll: 23 vs. AC +2 with Memory of a Thousand Lifetimes = 25 vs. AC for 13 damage and Sundered Heart and myself gain a +1 power bonus to AC.

Then Setil establishes a new link with the ghoul on the far side of Sundered Heart. Minor Action - Shield of Aegis to mark #4.

Once-Jurival ducks Setil's blow, offering an exaggerated farce of a frown in return. "Now, now... that'sss no way to treeeeat an old friend, issss it?"

Priest's Shield misses. Retain use of Memories...

Save vs Slow, 1d20=17

Taking advantage of the ancient spirit's presence Sundered Heart slowly edges up the hill, as best as his addled senses and leaden legs will permit. He spins Kill Point in a shattering arc that is harmlessly diverted by the frenzied creature relentlessly pursuing him.

SH: Use Stalker Spirit Adept's to Shift N32 as a free action
SH: Shatterbone Strike vs #4 (AC): 1d20+12=16, 2d10+11=22 Misses.
SH: Saves vs 5 Ongoing Acid & Slow: 1d20=9, 1d20=9

Moving quickly to surround the deva, Jurival and his gaunt ally attack in a flurry of filth-caked claws. Setil deftly parries all the blows save one; a long, ragged scratch from his erstwhile friend, not deep or grievous, but enough to introduce the painful alien paralytic.

Trying to close off her nostrils and her mind to the horrors in front of her, Madda pounces. This time, she is sure she's done some damage. Fighting off the poisons flowing through her, she calls on her animal instincts to continue the fight.

Pounce (Ref). On hit target is grants CA to next ally to attack it. (1d20 10=27, 1d8 8=14). No move. Manually amended damage to take account of SH's bonus. Attacked at -4, which I believe is correct?

Save v slow
Save v ongoing acid damage (1d20=19, 1d20=19)

Setil's magical link with the ghoul glows as it tears into Sundered Heart's throat, preventing some, but not all of the vicious wound.
Prevent 13 damage to Sundered Heart.

A hiss and a curt gesture from the pack's leader, and Sundered Heart's assailant is clawing at the battered dragonborn again, opening more bloody furrows with his cruel claws. Both wretched creatures shift to follow their prey, the pack leader swatting casually at the ancient spirit as he lopes to the west. Using Spirit of Life on Sundered(minor), moving spirit to O34, then using Blessing of The Seven Winds on 4: I realized I shouldn't use Healing Spirit after I rolled, and Blessing missed. Still creates a Zone 5 around it, though. I apologize for the sheer number of zones I'm putting on the map.

Karrn lashes out with his blades, but the undead proves too agile.

Blew both rolls for twin strike... pffft

Male Deva Swordmage

Setil once again repositions himself on the battlefield, this time in the midst of as many ghouls as possible. Shift to O33.
Then he lifts his sword high overhead and electricity strikes out at the ghouls surrounding him. Electrified Lash on #1, #3, #4 with -2 for concealment, -2 for reek. 25, 11, 28 vs. Fortitude. (The last attack has a +2 for Retributive shield.) 20 electricity damage
He finishes with a prayer to Pelor to heal Sundered Heart's wounds. Healing Word let's Sundered Heart spend a surge +6

Save = 9

Swirls of mist undulate in the grip of the winds that Galad calls, shrieking gusts tearing briefly at the increasingly battered, stench-ridden corpse-creature. Sundered Heart doggedly draws himself up as his wounds knit yet again, although he will certainly boast several new, impressive scars.

Galad, Blessing still does half damage on a miss. :)

Karrn's matched katars whirl and thrust, imbued with sorcerously bound tendrils of chaos, but his opponent is wary and the sharp blades cleave only mist. With a drawn-out hiss, his crouching foe turns to face the young sorcerer, flexing claws and curling its lips in a ghastly smile. Erupting out of its feral crouch, the creature's filthy claws cut a ragged streak of pain across Karrn's cheek.

VTS2: Claws vs Karrn (AC): 25, 12 damage and Slowed (save ends)
VTS2: Shift O35

Setil's blade glints as he raises it high, despite the cover of dancing fog. Lighting from a clear sky arcs earthward, lancing violently into two of the creatures; Jurival and Sundered Heart's feral nemesis. Their bodies contort violently and fingers of smoke rise from them to join the erratically whirling, spirit-driven threads of mist.

Jurival whirls, still smoking, and digs his claws deep into the soft flesh below the Deva's upraised shoulder. His tongue bursts from his pained grimace like a striking adder, scribing a trail of caustic spittle up Setil's sword-arm as it descends.

"Weee sshall take you back to the massssster... heee can help open your mind!"

VTS1: Claws vs Setil (AC): 36 Crit! Max damage=17 and 5 Ongoing Acid (save ends)

SH regens 3 HP, loses 5 from Acid. Radavel is up, will wait a bit to see if he visits, before continuing.

"That was too close" he places his hand on the small cut on his face.

Narrow Escape (Immediate Interupt), I take half damage (6) from the attack, and teleport 9 squares (F36).

Moving with the canny, careful steps of a veteran combatant, Sundered Heart effortlessly herds his foe out of the clinging, concealing bank of mist with a series of violent spear-thrusts.

Shifting her way through the reeking terrain, Madda's sensitive wolfhound nostrils flare as she pounces once more on the Emissary. The smell almost knocks her off her feet and her jaws close on nothing.

Mouthwash. May Melora send me mouthwash ... and nose plugs.

Pounce (Ref) v 3 (Emissary) (1d20 12=18, 1d8 10=16)

Shifted 3 squares to Q33, flanking with Setil.

Eyes blazing with blood-fervor the emaciated creature renews his assault on Sundered Heart, claws rending, gouging and slashing. Dragonborn and aberrant cadaver alike boast myriad ragged and bleeding wounds; and both pay them little heed, locked as they are in feral struggle. The corpse-beast wraps Sundered Heart's wrist with its grotesque tongue, again setting flesh to oozing under the caustic expectorate left behind, then slinks back into the safety of the fog.

Shifting through the coiling dampness of the mists the packleader evades Madda's pounce, a grunted command provoking an unlooked-for attack upon Setil, though its own blow is parried easily by the Swordmage. Undeterred, the hunched and tattered figure leers at Setil, tongue darting between jagged teeth with a mind of its own.

Again, Setil prevents the full forces of the ghoul's claws on Sundered Heart, at the same time lashing out with his sword.
Prevent 13 damage, and use Transposing Lunge. +2 Retributive Shield, -2 reek, -2 concealment: 22 vs. AC, +1 for Memories = 23. Big miss

Male Deva Shaman 2

Remembered the additional +5 to attack from my level for once...

Galad shakes his beads once, and Setil and Sundered feel themselves heal. He shakes them twice, and two spirits form on either side of the initiate and tear into it viciously.

Using Healing Spirit(Minor) and Sudden Restoration(minor) on Sundered and Setil, then using Twin Panthers on 4, using Memory of a Thousand Lifetimes on the first attack: (25 vs Reflex, 17 damage), (37 vs Reflex, 14 damage) +4 to first attack, for 29 vs Reflex, and 6HP for Setil.

Wow already back to me

Karrn goes over what his next move should be. His eyes flash and he makes his move "Hey guys if I were you I'd dodge!"

Karrn places his hand high above his head. An icy dragon leaps forth and toward the fight. When it arrives it erupts in icy shrapnel.

Ice Dragon's Teeth, centered on Galad's Spirit, targeting 1,2,3, Madda and Setil 1d20+13-5=25,24,15,14,14 vs Reflex; Damage 1d8+13=26 cold damage, and the target are slowed until the end of my next turn.

We'll use the first attack roll you made this turn, as indicated in the Chaos Burst description, so... even, which means +1 AC

Go ahead and roll for your Wild Soul resistance type while we're thinking about it.

Also, next time you use an AoE/Multiple Roll power, please apply the rolls in the order you listed them in your OOC text, instead of re-arranging to suit. According to the rolls as listed on IC (1d20+13=19, 1d20+13=20, 1d20+13=19, 1d20+13=29, 1d20+13=30), you should be missing all 3 targeted enemies and hitting both Madda and Setil.

Restoration Save vs. Acid = 12
Setil swings at the initiate again, reciting prayers to Pelor in an attempt to block out the maddening words of his former friend.
Strengthen the Faithful +2 flank, +2 Retributive shield, -2 reek, -2 concealment: 20 vs. AC and Memory of a Thousand Lifetimes just in case +4 =24.
Save vs. Slow = 18

Setil: Your Aegis' immediate interrupt is usable 1x/round (according to PHB268), and so you still retain the use of Transposing Lunge.

Karrn's frost-drake plunges into the midst of the fray, exploding into icicle-like shards and coating Setil and the two lesser ghoul-creatures with a thin fuzz of frost.

Laz: I think you may have looked at the wrong map when posting... Ice Dragon's Teeth is Area Burst 1, and so could only affect 1,2 and Setil when centered on O34. Applying your first 3 previously liked rolls (1d20+13=19, 1d20+13=20, 1d20+13=19), which are all misses even without the -5 Fog penalty.

A pair of deva swordsmen - hazy and ephemeral in their ancient regalia - slowly step from Galad's ancestral echo, their archaic blades rising and falling synchronously and with grim purpose to open more cruel wounds on the bloodied corpse-that-walks. The pair then step back from whence they came, and the deva spirit whirls his long blade menacingly.

Any enemy adjacent to Galad's Spirit Companion grants CA until end of 05.08
SH Save vs Weakened, from Galad's Sudden Restoration: 1d20=2

Beset from all quarters by cadaverous foes, Setil cannot land a clean blow on his agile target. The creature moves with a frantic kind of grace despite his emaciated state, and seems uncannily able to turn incoming blows just enough that it can slip away unharmed.

"Pelor ansswersss your prayers asss well assss he did mine!" Jurival's once-splendid voice hisses in his ear, before crooning a blasphemously mangled stanza of the Choral Prayer For A Glorious Dawn.

Grasping Claws (Ref) v Emissary. On hit, target can be slid one square. (1d20 10=17, 1d8 10=13). Flubba dub dub. She'll hit something one day.

Desperate to try and pull at least one horror away from Setil, Madda jumps and misses, flinching back once more from the smell. She circles, a growl rising in her throat, to flank the second stalker.

Setil, you are correct. Will add 13 HP to SH's total - thanks for catching that, and my apologies for the error.

Madda:

Spoiler:
Up close and personal with the Emissary, you can see that a slender choker of twisted metal, ornamented by two small stones - filthy, blood-caked and too tight to be worn with any kind of comfort - circles the thing's neck, digging into the skin just below its jawline.

Thin nostrils flaring at the coppery scent of new blood on the fetid air, the blood-covered ghoul pivots away from Sundered Heart, launching itself under Setil's guard and ripping flesh from the Deva's arm with a powerful snap of its ruined jaws. The wound is ghastly, and corruption festers within it already.

"Take him!' croaks the hunching, wasted form of the pack's leader, eyes aglow with the ecstasy of violence.

Needing little further urging, the bloodied ghoul continues his assault on the Swordmage, claws rending in a blood-fueled display of brutal savagery. Setil manages to step into the pack leader's blow, turning his shoulder so that the claws rake across armor instead of skin and bone.
