Xarra is mechanically done, just gotta work her background.

Mhoy is done, mostly, assuming I don't get a wild hair and change his bits around again...

Liberty's Edge

I was honestly expecting all Jedi and myself, refreshing to see that isn't the case here. (not that I'd mind 4 Jedi, just unexpected)

It's also funny that spell check knew jedi was supposed to be Jedi, I didn't program that.

Hey, does anybody mind if we use the Destiny rules? Or, more accurately, if we use them and if I choose all the PCs' Destinies myself?

I think that would rock, more so if you keep them a secret.

Scarab Sages

Sounds fine to me...I'll just be happy getting a game going heh.

That would be AWESOME.

Great then, that's what I prefer to do but I try to make sure nobody minds first.

Yeah, that's what I meant. Great, then.

Xarra sits in the Mos Eisly cantina, absent-minded cleaning her blaster, the the far corner booth, her back to the wall...listening to the...some cover tune...

"Where is that no good son of a Bantha?"

Liberty's Edge

KC anything else you want to see or not see during creation? or House rules you plan on using?

Not really.

And how am I supposed to make that realistic? Pull a Joss Whedon?

I think we ought to make harmony rolls during combat. Worst roll has to sing the bridge...

Coruscant bridge is falling down
falling down
falling down'

Coruscant bridge is falling down
my fair Jedi.'

Liberty's Edge

Dang it, I always miss these things

KC, keep me in mind as an alt if you don't mind

*grumbles about life being unfair and goes to farm some moisture or something*

And that's got to be the Worst. Job. Ever.

"What do you do for a living?"
"I dig a hole. Then I fill it in and repeat. And you?"
"I farm moisture."
"Dude, how is that even possible? Your job sucks!"

Hey, I just noticed this thread....

I'm not sure if you still need another player, but as my other PbP here has mostly died off due to real life happening (except hoping for a live PaizoCon reunion), I'd love to join your new game!

My character concept (an unused one from back in D6 days, if you want to know!) would be:
An Aquar (gene-spliced amphibian near-human), growing up mostly on idyllic unspoiled aquatic planet with scientist parents amongst largely Aquar/MonCal research & support crew (maybe familiar with other 'wild' planets on a shorter term basis). Enter war, disruption, refugee status, and she finally parlayed her decent education and intuition into various "grey" technical occupations revolving around space "salvage" / general "Outlaw Tech" type work on space stations and Outer Rim trade hubs, managing to steer clear of the worst/most violent pirate gangs, but not exactly naieve anymore. She would probably be a Scoundrel, though starting out with Scout might work too? (which has Swim as a Skill. It seems wierd Swim isn't always a Class Skill for Aquatic Species... ??? I'm not really an expert at SAGA rules with this...)

Here is background on the Aquar species (whose planet is in Coruscant & CW)
I found the stats on some messageboard, the C&CW book only listed Commoner stats and was pre-SAGA anyways
...It's basically a Mon-Cal'ified Human, nothing shocking ability-wise, it's more for flavor and facilitating interacting with aquatic races like Mon Cal and Quarren.[spoiler]The Aquar were a water-breathing near-Human species inhabiting the planet Velusia. The Aquar were an offshoot of Humans who colonized Velusia thousands of years ago and evolved into their present form. An Aquar typically had blue or green skin covered in fine scales, with partially webbed fingers and toes, green hair, and large eyes. Aquar noses were flat, with gill-like horizontal slits in place of nostrils.

They lived a peaceful life of subsistence on Velusia, harvesting fish and plants from the oceans and raising...

Looks good, except for the 'magna bolas' thing. Got stats for that?

ya I wouldn't mind playing something ya DM man, would like to really but I am at 9 pbp games{playing 6 running 3) in 3 systems. sadly I need to stop somewhere

This is the closest avatar I could find to how I imagined my character to look like
(hair should be more curly black w/ green hi-lights, but you get the idea).
Do you think her name is "Star Wars"-y enough? :-)

Anyhow, here is what I have on the Magna Bolas:

Spoiler:
Magna Bolas
Cost: 500 credits
Damage 1d3 + special (see text)
Stun Fort DC: 15
Critical: 20
Range Increment: 5 m
Weight: 1 kg
Type: Bludgeoning
Size: Medium
Group: Exotic

This weapon is a trio of metallic, magnetic balls attached by a thin metallic cord. Although it deals little damage, the weapon is useful for entangling or stunning targets. The wielder decides whether to use the bolas to stun or entangle and opponent before the attack roll takes place. On a successful hit, the target takes 1d3 points of damage and must make either a Fortitude Save (DC15) to resist the Stun or a Reflex Save (DC15) to avoid Entanglement; If the Check fails, the victim is stunned or entangled.

First off, I'm not exactly choosing this species because of the weapon, so if you want to say I just have Weapon Proficiency (vibrotoothbrush) instead, I'm find by that. Anyways, let me know what you think: This is from Coruscant & Core Worlds, which is d20, but I think weapon stats didn't actually change very much between d20/SAGA. Actually, just so *I* understand the weapon completely, the Stun effect basically lowers the target's Condition by 1 Tier on a failed Check, right? (I couln't even find anything about an "Entangled" Condition in the SAGA book, but it sounds like that would be more useful than dropping someone 1 Condition)

For everyone else, here's a synopsis of my background:
An Aquar (gene-spliced amphibian near-human), growing up mostly on idyllic unspoiled aquatic planet with scientist parents amongst largely Aquar/MonCal/Tynnan research & support crew.

She'll start out as Scoundrel, but probably multi-class w/ Scout to some degree. Fairly strong skill-monkey focus more than combat... I thought being able to finagle good deals on gear AND fix/customize it all (AND hack thru it) would be a useful role... With Scout I'd probably pick up WP:Rifles, so I could take up a Sniper role eventually... (and I can get Starship Weapon Proficiency thru a Talent) Perhaps I could have met some/all of you as co-crew on a vessel, or doing a 'land' job together, or we could have just met socially...?

@KC:

Spoiler:
I wasn't sure which all languages to know (I have 4 extra).
Besides Mon Cal, Hutt seemed common enough in "grey space"... Squib (the cute fox-like scavengers) seemed fun & useful, I mentioned knowing Tynnans from growing up (they're the smart, cultured anarcho-socialist neutrias, though their planet was enslaved/terraformed by the Vong) though I don't know if I need to bother actually knowing their language since they seem very Basic-fluent. Bocce or Duro seem very "spacer" languages but seem to be spoken in about the same areas as Basic itself, so not really that useful... If you didn't mind, I could use an extra language or two on another Trained Skill (Swim, Gather Info, Pilot?), or I'd be happy if you have any other language ideas to share.

...Otherwise, I should have my Skill/Feat/Talents figured out 100% soon :-)
