Should the ICC be indicted?

That is the International Criminal Court.
Which recently indicted Hassan al-Bashir, the President of Sudan, for war crimes relating to the ongoing "events" in Darfur.

Why should the ICC be indicted for doing such a thing?
Well, according to the Speaker of Iran's parliament, the indictment is an insult to Muslims.

Is that a crime?
Well, if the OIC (the Organization of the Islamic Conference) has it's way in the UN, it soon will be binding; currently it is only voluntary.

So should Luis Moreno-Ocampo, the Chief Prosecutor of the ICC, having transgressed by bringing this indictment, indict himself and the ICC before the ICC, and be punished to the full extent of the law?
And should it be European law, which will only fine him and the ICC, or Sharia law, which will require his execution, and the restriction of the ICC to prevent future offense in the future?

Bah I thought it was about the International Cricket Council....

I have to say Australia is doing better than expected and will retain their world number 1 status.

At Stumps - Day 2

For the non cricket fans (explanations in brackets)

This is a Test Match, it runs over 5 days, with each team having 2 turns at batting and bowling.

Australia 352 (The number of runs made in the first innings)
South Africa 138/7 (The SA's have lost 7 batters while making 138 runs)
South Africa RR 2.42 (number of runs per over - An over = 6 bowls(pitches))
South Africa trail by 214 runs with 3 wickets (batters)remaining in the 1st innings

Sam - I have watched you on the off topic boards, You are constantly trying to whip up anti Muslim sentiment. You generalise and dehumanise, when somebody takes a contrary position you imply anti Semitism and scream that you are being dehumanised.

As these boards are hosted in a democratic nation with the rights to freedom of speech and freedom of thought along with responsibilities of such. You are within your rights to open a reasonable discussion about current issues with the caveat that you as per the rules of the board "Do not make bigoted, hateful, or racially insensitive statements."

Your responses to people with contrary views such have been thinly veiled hateful, or racially insensitive statements.

I am calling you on this, I ask that you moderate your responses, ratchet down your stomping on others, and If you are just posting to Troll take your trolling elsewhere.

If the truth about actions by Muslims makes you hate them, then perhaps you should take it up with Muslims not to perform such actions or to defend.

It is obvious that you support this attempt to immunize a particular religion against any criticism while casually ignoring significantly more vicious attacks against other religions and political viewpoints.
Therefore I call you right back, and ask that you ratchet down your stomping on people for supporting rights for everyone.

Did you read my post - did I say I supported this no I didn't. For the record do not support anything that stops free speech. As long as you dont use it for hate.

In your rushed attempt to demonise me as a "Terrorist Sympathiser" you did not read my post. You vomited the same drivel that you usually do. Cherry picking from posts miss quoting and taking things out of context, in order to cast yourself as a victimised defender against the hordes of evil. It doesn't wash with me mate I see right through you.

I was addressing your constant tirades, scaremongering and generalisations that are all the hallmarks of a racist.

Do you know any Muslims are you friends with any? do you work with any?
I do work with many, I am friends with them as well, from Indonesians, Malays, Indians, Pakistanis, Syrians, Turks and Lebanese.

I find them to be no better and no worse than anybody else.

So read my posts next time. Try not to illustrate how ignorant you are by taking things out of context.

I am looking forward to your next wave of ignorance and hate....

regards

A classic refuge of the scoundrel!

Sadly for you, I do in fact know and have worked with Muslims. Indeed for five years I was regularly thrown about in ways that clearly endangered my life by a Muslim, and despite expressions of concern for my safety I rejected the use of protective equipment because I trusted that man to have as great a concern for my safety as for his own.
And when we went out to eat, he routinely asked me if something was acceptable for us to eat.

So nice try, but in your zeal to defame me you have empowered me.

Likewise what remains is that this post concerned the situation in Darfur. I would say the genocide in Darfur, but then you would accuse me of hating Muslims again. That the people being killed are Muslims is apparently as irrelevant to you as it is to the Iranian Speaker, the OIC, and the AL. Indeed, even according to the leader of the rebels in Darfur there is something seriously amiss in the silence of the OIC and AL about the situation in Darfur.
Indeed, I must hate Muslims to an overwhelming degree to express so much outrage over so many of them being murdered, raped, and starved to death.
Sadly, though I know I should not note that the numbered of Muslims killed in Darfur exceeds the number of Muslims killed by Israel since the day the country was created as yet again you would charge me with ignorance and hatred for daring to mention such an "inconvenient truth", I feel compelled to note it, just to put your viewpoint in the perspective it deserves.
Truly though, in the grand scheme of things, if calling attention to this means I have to suffer your scorn, the most essential basics of humanity still compel me to speak out. Indeed, your scorn, just as the offense expressed by the Speaker of Iran, affirms my belief that this is an issue that I cannot remain silent on lest it be completely lost in the atmosphere of fear created to silence those speaking against oppression and injustice, no matter the cause of it.

There is another thread asking if Hollywood should apologize to Iran for movies.
This one asks if anyone should apologize for calling attention to Darfur.

In before the lock 'cause that is how poodles roll.

Sovereign Court

UN General Assembly Resolutions are not binding.

You guys know you have a veto as a permanent member of the security council right? That you run and finance the majority of the UN operations out there? That the General Assembly is a joke? There is no way this could ever become binding.

If it is passed with an opt-out, it becomes troublesome for those nations that do not accept it.

Just look at how the ICC works to indict people from countries that have not accepted its jurisdiction.
