Legacy of Fire has possibilities

Lost Omens Campaign Setting General Discussion

This is a shameless love post. I was happy to receive my Descent into Midnight adventure. I had intended to cancel my subscription before Second Darkness, but then ... who can resist the draw of Drow? But when my final installment arrived, I thought "*Now* I can finally cancel my subscription". After all, these things aren't cheap and I have tons of material already. I don't really *need* another adventure path but ...alas, I'm hooked again. I've always had a soft spot for adventures with Arabian flavor. Just flipping through, the art of Haiten Bhaq had caught my eye. Now not only dare I not cancel my subscription, I'm fairly drooling for the Legacy of Fire! Paizo, you've done it again. I can't wait to explore the delicious possibilities!

I'm in roughly the same boat as you. I keep looking for the right time to leave, but alas, Paizo is doing to good of a job. No complaints though. Seriously, I've been thrilled with what has been put out thus far and now I'm not sure I can actually end my subscription despite the need to be pinching pennies.

I stopped after Curse of the Crimson Throne.

It and the first one are awesome but...

I'm not playing 3.5 anymore.

I hate doing conversion work.

If I do go back and run 3.5, those two campaign arcs will take months, if not longer to run.

I still pick up the sourcebooks though as they make great reading.

For me, if it is about Golarion in the slightest, I will get it. The world just keeps getting better as these artists, writers and game designers put magic back on the table. When the Nuclear War is over, I will emerge with all my Pathfinder material and finally bring hope to the masses.

For what its worth I think the APs also make good reading. However, I can totally understand how you feel. During the Edition Wars, I had considered stopping my subscription after Second Darkness was finished if Paizo went 4e. As far as Im concerned Paizo is worth every penny I have spent so far, and unless they start to put out crap (which isnt going to happen any time soon Im sure)I can see sticking with them for many years in the future.

The Gospel of Paizo, eh? I could get behind that!

And Legacy of Fire is indeed shaping up to be great. Hank and I have been helping to edit the adventure path, and the adventures/articles are pretty freaking sweet - plus I just really like genies and Arabic/Persian culture in general. As someone who was a Pathfinder subscriber not that long ago, let me tell you - I am SO excited to get my hands on the finished product!

Ha! my pbp of Crimson throne is 11 months in, and still has a section to go before we finish edge of anarchy!

I reckon 2013 we will be about finished. My real life group doesn't meet regularly enough to even think about an AP, but I still subscribe....Why...because they are a damn good read, and I *will* eventually get to play, at least some of them, out.
