the map appears to be working just fine

Knowledge(local)1d20+2=5

so they appear to be traveling toward me.
I will weel my horse around and travel back toward my traveling compainians attempting to not be noticed by the other travels. (after i am out of line of sight i will make haste) I then tell my compainians what it was that i saw. and suggest that we prepare an ambush incase anything goes wrong.

hide two ppl in the foilage/rocks to the side of the trail (me and someone else, and allow Hrussk to be our spokes person to the group approaching to find out what is going on. if anything goes down we get the advantage.

Hruskin will volunteer to hide. His fiery ray is effective up to 30 feet and he can provide healing from cover if need be.

OK, specifically tell your companions in RP what you say about what's coming

ok i just wanted to make sure it was ok with you, i didnt want to type out a paragraph and then have you tell me thats not what is happening.

oops sry about spelling Haruuc's name wrong

I gallop up to the group and pull my horse to a halt. there is a party approaching us on the road; 2 dwarves, an elf, a halfling and a human, and they seem to have a banner that has Lhesh Haruuc's symbol on it. I dont think they saw me but i am unsure, we should set up an ambush just incase they are hostile. I and one other can hide in the bushes/rocks at the side of the road, no more then 30ft away one person on one side and one on the other, (Hruskin volunteered) and if they do prove hostile then we will have the advantage. If they are friendly we will still be prepared. You pointing at Haruuc can be our spokes person and find out what they want.

for when i hide, Stealth 1d20+12=17 ugh

and my wolf will be hiding about 30ft away from me with a line of sight to me Stealth 1d20+3=9 ugh

"That sounds like a good plan." Brignat sits on his horse with his bow across his lap and an arrow notched.

The Exchange

Everyone make a Knowledge local check now, DC12.

Note: The elf is not a Valenar Elf, you recognize those on sight.

Spoiler:
Both dwarves are decked out in Half Plate, with battle axe and shield.

The human is also in plate with a great sword on his back, the halfling is wearing a chain shirt. and the elf is wearing a robe and has a long bow and long sword.

Spoiler:
Knowledge(nobility or history) DC10: Also, they all have the same symbol on their shields or clothing. The symbol of a Chimera on a purple shield with a crossed spear and sword.Knowledge(nobility or history) DC10

Correct: they are making acheck based upon what info you told them from what you saw.

Knowledge (Local) Check. (1d20+2=12)
Knowledge (History) Check. (1d20+2=21)

Haruuc bristles and his shoulders expand visually when Drexel orders him what to do. He sees the merit in the plan however and doesn't say anything, prefering to save the slight for later.
"This is acceptable. You and the Goblin will hide, while the rest of you ride in a scattered formation. I do not want us to be caught in a spell, as the elf," he says the word with a sneer, "is likely a spellcaster."
With that, he moves his horse to the front of the group and waits for the others to comply with his order.

Sorry about my scarcity. Been busy writing and brainstorming. =D

I kind of figured that is what was going on Flash. No problem. It's what I would have been doing had I made it, I'll make top32 next year, I know what they want now heh.

Haruuc:

Spoiler:
you realize that the banner Drexel described is a banner of safe passage from the Lhesh, Most the Ghaar'dul clans honor the banners , though there are dissenters amongst the Dhakhaani and Mar'kul clans. You doubt even those would balk at attacking those on the way from the Gathering stone and Rhukaan Draal.

Male Human HP (5/6) | AC/Touch/Flat 13/13/10 | Fort/Ref/Will +0/+3/+3 | Init +3 | Percep +2

I smile to myself. Haruuc had just, basically, followed my command this would put him lower on the totem pole then me in the eyes of the other hobgoblins. And if he gets uppity later i can always challenge him for command "officially"

Hruskin, Brignat, and Ur-Kaim had also listened to me, though Ur-Kaim was not supposed to hide i did not mind, the more that could attack from ambush the better. This would go a long way as establishing me as leader of this motley crew, even if our employers still though of Harruc as the leader, they too would soon see that i was more suited to command.

The Exchange

waiting on Haruuc

Male Hobgoblin Fighter 1 Air Element Sorcerer 1 Rogue 1

Haruuc appears lost in thought for a short time.
"This banner you describe," he says loudly looking in the direction of Drexel's hiding place, "it sounds like banner of passage granted by the Lhesh. Up north it may not hold much sway, but down here it would be suicide to attempt to attack anyone under it's protection. They most probably have protection of the Lhesh"
He thinks again. "Stay where you are. It may be they killed original bearers and are using it to get into city. They need to make first move to attack, but if they do then hit them hard and kill the point ear first." A smile creeps onto his face, visible beneath his mask, as he says the last statement.

Male Human HP (5/6) | AC/Touch/Flat 13/13/10 | Fort/Ref/Will +0/+3/+3 | Init +3 | Percep +2

I Grimmice as once again Haruuc attempts to order me around. I grumble to myself Its not even bad enought that he is a magic user, he has to think that he is my leader also i glare at him from behind my rock.

The party under the banner comes around the corner of the road. Most of the party slows on their horses, while the human rides forward

Perception 10:

Spoiler:
You notice a blue and black tattoo on the human's neck.

"Greetings noble ones." he says in near perfect goblinoid. "We're emissaries of House Deneith, riding to Rhukaan Draal, recruiting mercenaries for the house. If you're interested, just keep riding on to the Gathering Stone."

Hey guys, to speed up the game, how would you feel if I roll a lot of the miscellaneous rolls? Things like perception, initiative, etc. I can just narrate what you see, and if a combat starts I'll just post a Intitiative order listing. Sound good? Yay or Nay? And miscellaneous Knowledge checks.

Male Human HP (5/6) | AC/Touch/Flat 13/13/10 | Fort/Ref/Will +0/+3/+3 | Init +3 | Percep +2

i vote yea. you can just look on our characters to get the numbers and i dont care if i roll or u do

knowing that the elf saw me (and unsure if the rest of the party had) i leave my hideing spot, get my horse and mount up with the rest of the group. they dont seem to be a threat but i keep my short sword at ready anyway.

Male Hobgobblin druid 2

I'm ok with it.

Ur-Kaim stays in hiding.

I'm okay with you rolling.

Hruskin stays in his hiding place and waits, watching the group.

The Exchange

it's so quiet you could hear a pin drop as the tumbleweed rolls through...

"Now if you'll let us pass, oh, if you do sign on later, tell them Dahs d'Deneith is your contact and I'll split the signing bonus with you." Dahs seems to think for a moment. "I forget my place in these lands, please you may pass." With that he orders the others off the road, opening the road for you to pass.

Male Human HP (5/6) | AC/Touch/Flat 13/13/10 | Fort/Ref/Will +0/+3/+3 | Init +3 | Percep +2

Brignat rides through the group keeping his eyes on each of them. When he passes through, he half-turns in his saddle to keep an eye on the group until they are out of sight.

Male Hobgobblin druid 2

I will wait till the other group passes listing in on them until they ride off and then catch up with our group.

The Exchange

Ur-Kaim:

Spoiler:
You hear them saying
"...those four would make fine mercenaries"

"The one in the orange mask seemed very powerful"

"The goblin looked a little odd though, I wonder what..."

The Exchange

I'm going to assume the rest of you ride on, Haruuc did not seem interested in a fight, and I'm sure little Hruskin would not go against the hobgobs.

As we continue on I am going to be extra alert, with my bow in my lap, after having met strangers on the road.

Male Hobgobblin druid 2

After I catch up with the group I'll say to all, "Augg.. the arrogance of humans, they think all goblinoids are good for is to fight and die for their amusement. As if a few gold will make us turn our backs on our own kingdom. To bad the last war ended, the pinkskins need to have more of their numbers culled".

DAY 3

After you leave the House Deneith recruiting party, you continue down the road, you encounter a goblin and 8 young goblins which quickly scurry off into the grasses and disappear. You take a break under a tree. during the hottest part of the day lest you overheat in your armor, as the temperature pushes 110 degrees. After your short break, you hit the road for a couple more hours, you know that you'll be able to see the Gathering Stone early tomorrow. The night is clear as a bell, the temperature drops to a balmy 78, with a light southern wind.

hot or cold camp tonight?

Male Hobgoblin Fighter 1 Air Element Sorcerer 1 Rogue 1

I'm happy for you to roll. Makes it easy when slow arses like me hold us up...

Haruuc politely declines the man's offer and as they part, he spurs his horse forward. Not looking back, he trusts the others to be watching and wishes to appear as if they are beneath his notice, he instead watches Drexel move forward once more to take up point.
After travelling for the rest of the day, they stop to make camp for the night.
We are close to the gathering stone," he announces to the group. "it should be safe to light a fire and cook our meals tonight."

Haruuc Dhakaan wrote:

Hruskin seems very pleased by this and immediately begins gathering sticks. When there are enough he points to the pile and a ray of fire erupts from his finger, lighting a small happy blaze. He bows over it and says a prayer of thanks to the Forgemaster.

No problem with the last bit. Hruskin would have stayed put until the men moved on, then ran to catch up with the rest of the party.

all day i will be grumbling about "stupid snakes and their stupid hiding" under my breath as i look for them

Perception (when we ran into the goblins) 1d20+6=17

Spoiler:
did i notice anything about them? i worked with goblins alot during the war since i was a scout. did they seem to be scouting or trying to ambush? where they just walking along and we scared them? If i notice anything that would alert me i will tell everyone to be on an extra careful watch tonight.

i watch how hruskin lights the fire with interest. I spend most of the night (as i did most of the morning and last night while doing our down time at camp) attempting to work on my poison and talking to hruskin and brignat.
If anyone else wishes to talk to me i am receptive and cordial with them. with the exception of Haruuc who i think is challenging my leadership of this group

Hruskin will happily chat with anyone nearby, as he sits way too close to the fire. He'll also take time and offer to sharpen or mend anything that needs it, using his Artificer's Touch to repair any nicks or scrapes in armor or blade.

It seemed to be a goblin with his 8 kids, they might have been out hunting but it was more just trying to keep them in line than anything

Watch order?

The Exchange

During the last watch, Drexel hears some rustling from the surrounding area, followed by some loud chirps, that sound like a monstrous scorpion. Just as he's rousing the camp, in the light of the fire you spot a horse-sized scorpion come crashing into the camp. The 2 wolves are wary but are already on the defensive.

No Surprise round due to Drexel's waking everyone, those who were asleep are still laying on the ground, the Scorpion is 15 feet from the edge of the camp.

Inititiative order:
Drexel
Haruuc
Scorpion
Ur-Kaim's wolf
Hruskin
Ur-Kaim
Drexel's Wolf
Brignat

Male Hobgoblin Fighter 1 Air Element Sorcerer 1 Rogue 1

Haruuc hears Drexel's warning and is instantly awake, a testament to being on patrol.
He leaps to his feet, quickly glancing around to find the enemy and looses an Electrical Blast at the incoming Scorpion. Electricity crackles over it's exoskeleton and the smell of charred flesh wafts its way into everyone's senses.
Electrical Blast (Ranged Touch Attack). (1d20+4=24)
Confirm Critical for Electrical Blast (Ranged Touch Attack). (1d20+4=20)
Critical Damage from Electrical Blast. (1d6=6, 1d6=6)

Immediately after the scorpion bursts into the camp I order my wolf to "Heel"DC10 1d20+7=24 (Move action).

i imagine that i would have had time to pull out my bow while i was rousing everyone else, just ignore this next part if that is not the case and assume that i am pulling out my bow

I take a 5ft step back away from the scorpion (free action) and then fire upon the scorpion with a smile (standard action), I say "looks like my poison has come to me!" (free action)
Ranged Attack 1d20+7=12
Damage (if it hits, which i dont think it does even flat footed) 1d8+1=8

The Exchange

Drexel releases an arrow that connects with the scorpion's carapace but skips off into the brush.

Haruuc, Nice!
Electricity lights up the night as Haruuc leaps to his feet, unleashing a blast that scores a searing blast along the scorpion's carapace near its eyes, clearly causing it to stagger, it emits a shriek and some chitterng.

The scorpion rushes Haruuc attempting to grasp him in its massive claw, though the claw strikes (3dmg), its unable to maintain a hold on the sorcerer.

You hear additional commotion from behind this scorpion, and see 3 smaller scorpions enter the clearing. You suspect they are the larger one's young.

Feel free to post out of order, I will narrate the scene as it should happen. This includes your wolves.

Revised Initiative order:
Inititiative order: (1c=completed first round)
1c Drexel
1c Haruuc
1c Scorpion
1 Ur-Kaim's wolf
1 Hruskin
1 Ur-Kaim
1 Drexel's Wolf
1 Brignat
1 small scorpions
