Go ahead and play out the next round guys, I was in a BAAAD mood that week, was still exhausted from Con, and the boards were being finicky, better mood now.

Male Human HP (5/6) | AC/Touch/Flat 13/13/10 | Fort/Ref/Will +0/+3/+3 | Init +3 | Percep +2

Male Hobgoblin Fighter 1 Air Element Sorcerer 1 Rogue 1

Getting more and more frustrated by his misses, haruuc growls as he once more swings the Flail at his chosen enemy.

Attack Skeleton 15 with Heavy Flail: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (15) + 2 = 17
Damage: 1d10 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6

I'm ba-aaack... Sorry for my tardiness guys, I had to reformat my PC (and thankfully upgrade to Win7) after coming back from Holidays and have been slow to catch up on my PbPs.

The Exchange

Welcome back...on with the game

The hobgoblins turn the tide of battle, as the combination of attacks bring down one of the skeletons, the one facing Brignat goes down but not before the one facing Haruuc reopens an earlier wound. Still no sign of Hruskin.

Mechanics:

Skeleton 13 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (18) + 4 = 22
Skeleton 14 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (19) + 4 = 23
Skeleton 15 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 9
Confirmation 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (11) + 4 = 15 none
Skeleton 16 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 9

Damage 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5

Male Hobgoblin Ftr 4

slam attacks against skeletons 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (10) + 5 = 151d4 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 31d20 + 5 ⇒ (8) + 5 = 131d4 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3

Male Hobgoblin Fighter 1 Air Element Sorcerer 1 Rogue 1

Haruuc winces as he once more takes a hit, starting to tire and feel the pressures of the combat, but heartened a little by Brignat's defeat of his opponent. He takes another swing at his own foe, hoping that it will be the last.

Attack Skeleton 15 with Heavy Flail: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (11) + 2 = 13
Damage: 1d10 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 1 = 9

The Exchange

Drexel, you're up! Will Puppet him tomorrow is need be.

Male Human HP (5/6) | AC/Touch/Flat 13/13/10 | Fort/Ref/Will +0/+3/+3 | Init +3 | Percep +2

sorry about the wait. first my computer went down and then i couldnt sign on to paizo for some reason.

Still using my new found mace

Attack 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (17) + 7 = 24

damage 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3

The Exchange

Drexel's strike lands a solid blow. While the rest of the room maneuvers and attempts to strike at each other, but to no avail. Still no sign of Hruskin

Perception DC 15:
You hear a scrap and thump from where Hruskin was

I'm going to play-test a rule I have been mulling over for a while now. Minimum damage inflicted = amount over AC your TH roll was. Thus Drexel's attack was 6 above the AC so 6 minimum damage, up to the maximum you can inflict. (1d8+2 = max 10) This is ESPECIALLY important in CRITICALS!! I hate getting a critical that rolls 1s...LAME. Let me know your thoughts. Note: this is for PCs and Important NPCs only. Lame skeletons can inflict 1 dmg cuz they're WEAK!.

Mechanics:

Skeleton 13 1d20 ⇒ 15
Skeleton 14 1d20 ⇒ 10
Skeleton 16 1d20 ⇒ 11

Male Human HP (5/6) | AC/Touch/Flat 13/13/10 | Fort/Ref/Will +0/+3/+3 | Init +3 | Percep +2

I am all for being able to do more damage :)

Male Hobgoblin Ftr 4

Male Hobgoblin Fighter 1 Air Element Sorcerer 1 Rogue 1

Sure, more damage is always helpful :)

ESPECIALLY in a PbP Where 1 combat can take 2 months...

Male Hobgoblin Ftr 4

Brignat continues to smash the skeletons with his fists.
1d20 + 5 ⇒ (5) + 5 = 101d4 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 61d20 + 5 ⇒ (15) + 5 = 201d4 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5

Male Human HP (5/6) | AC/Touch/Flat 13/13/10 | Fort/Ref/Will +0/+3/+3 | Init +3 | Percep +2

Extremely annoyed by all this and wanting to see what made the click sound by the alter I lay into the skeleton attacking me again.

Attack 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (17) + 7 = 24

damage 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6

Male Hobgoblin Fighter 1 Air Element Sorcerer 1 Rogue 1

Haruuc seems to be getting extremely annoyed by his lack of progress against his enemy as he once more swing in at it.

Attack Skeleton 15 with Heavy Flail: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4
Damage: 1d10 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3

The Exchange

One of the Skeletons facing Drexel falls, brought down by the light mace. Brignat hits a glancing blow off the other skeleton, narrowly avoiding Haruuc's wild swing

Don't you hate d20s? I think 2d10 is better, it HAS a bell curve. You guys can rework your characters with APG stuff after this combat if you like.

Male Hobgoblin Ftr 4

"Easy there haruuc!"
slam attacks against skeleton 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (16) + 5 = 211d4 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 51d20 + 5 ⇒ (16) + 5 = 211d4 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5

Male Human HP (5/6) | AC/Touch/Flat 13/13/10 | Fort/Ref/Will +0/+3/+3 | Init +3 | Percep +2

I let out a roar of victory as the first skeleton falls and then I swing at the other skeleton that is confronting me.

You can, only things with NO anatomy are immune, things like oozes.

Male Human HP (5/6) | AC/Touch/Flat 13/13/10 | Fort/Ref/Will +0/+3/+3 | Init +3 | Percep +2

Well in that case

Attack 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (18) + 7 = 25

Damage 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (7) + 2 = 9

The Exchange

Drexel brings hismace down on the skeleton's skull driving the weapon downwards, shattering the spinal column of the skeleton, and crushing the helmet. Brignat finishes off the final skeleton spinning it's head about as his gauntlet impacts the jaw, jawbone flying as it collapses into a heap.

Male Hobgoblin Fighter 1 Air Element Sorcerer 1 Rogue 1

Haruuc sees the other Skeletons falling to his companions and roars in fury at his inability to even hit his opponent. He once more swings the Heavy Flail around in a sweeping arc, trying to smash the thing before him to dust.

Attack Skeleton 15 with Heavy Flail: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (20) + 2 = 22
Confirm Critical Hit: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (20) + 2 = 22
Damage: 2d10 + 1 ⇒ (4, 8) + 1 = 13

Haruuc seems to be in a daze from the blood loss, as he begins attacking the fallen skeleton, pulverizing it's bones.

2d10+2 damage on a critical, str bonuses are doubled as well, only precision damage is not multiplied.

Male Human HP (5/6) | AC/Touch/Flat 13/13/10 | Fort/Ref/Will +0/+3/+3 | Init +3 | Percep +2

I run over to the alter as soon as the last skeleton falls and start looking around for a hidden catch or secret door.

Hruskin wasn't at the altar, and it wasn't an altar it's a sarcophagus, but Hruskin was last behind the dias projection.

Well then that's where I went.

Male Hobgoblin Fighter 1 Air Element Sorcerer 1 Rogue 1

Standing over the remains of his opponent, Haruuc glares at the bones, almost willing them to get back up so he can hit them again for al the trouble they gave him. He instead pulls out a vial while the others examine the dais, downing it's contents greedily.

Drinks a cure light wounds potion: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4

You look behind the dias, and Hurskin's lifeless corpse is there, a chill passes down your spine, where's the spirit that was inhabiting his corpse? All's quiet in the tomb currently, you could probably check out the weaponry of the skeletal guards now.

Male Hobgoblin Ftr 4

Brignat begins to look over the weapons of the fallen not quite sure what he is looking for.

I will cleave Hruskin's head from his body in hopes of keeping him from coming back a second time, then I will take the time to search the entire room we are in for trap doors or secrete openings. (taking 20)

Hruskin's head comes off cleanly, the little goblin's grin one of determination in death. After an hour of searching, you notice that the area below the sarcophagus sound hollow.

Brignat wrote:

perception 1d20+3

You can see that the weapons of all the guard are exceptional scimitars, one is the black metal of adamantine, one glows with an light blue radiance, another was flickering with flames while held; that last is silvery in appearance, possibly mithral traced with Valenar style elven runes.

Male Human HP (5/6) | AC/Touch/Flat 13/13/10 | Fort/Ref/Will +0/+3/+3 | Init +3 | Percep +2

I slide the mace I took off the crushed skeleton earlier into my belt and pat it. "You came in handy, I will keep you around just in case..."

That was prior to spending the hr searching

"Brignat, Haruuc! Come, I have found something under this sarcophagus. Help me find a way to open it."

When Brignat and Hruskin come over, "Did either of you find anything useful in the last hr?"

Male Hobgoblin Ftr 4

Brignat picks up the black steel scimitar and runs over to assist.
so...one adamantine, one magical, and one flaming mithral. I'll take the adamantine if there are no objections, i've been meaning to branch into the power attack feat chain.

Male Human HP (5/6) | AC/Touch/Flat 13/13/10 | Fort/Ref/Will +0/+3/+3 | Init +3 | Percep +2

There were four, the flaming and mithril are separate I believe

The Exchange

Drexel Morrow wrote:

correct 4

Male Hobgoblin Ftr 4

okay flaming, mithral, adamantine, and magical. Three of us. each take one and sell the last? if you would prefer order of choice be random. roll 6 and highest goes first; between ties, roll again.1d6 ⇒ 3

Male Human HP (5/6) | AC/Touch/Flat 13/13/10 | Fort/Ref/Will +0/+3/+3 | Init +3 | Percep +2

I don't need adamantine I wouldn't mind the one with light blue radiance or flickering with fire, course if the mithral one is more then just that (since the description said it has elven runes on it) I probably wouldn't mind it either

CotCT GameMaestro

Haruuc?

Male Human HP (5/6) | AC/Touch/Flat 13/13/10 | Fort/Ref/Will +0/+3/+3 | Init +3 | Percep +2

His computer probably went down on him or something, he hasn't been on in over two weeks

Haruuc: stands over the weapons weighing each of them...and repeating "ketchup"...."catsup"..."ketchup"..."catsup"

Male Hobgoblin Ftr 4

Sighing with irritation, "For the love of Dhakaan! Choose one and let us get more this door." Brignat moves to the secret door and tries to assist with the search.
assist with perception 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (15) + 3 = 18

Male Hobgoblin Fighter 1 Air Element Sorcerer 1 Rogue 1

Sorry, finally got interent back and am still playing catchup (or is that ketchup?).

Haruuc comes over to the sarcophagus with the others, watching Brignat select the black scimitar and Drexel eying off the glowing and flaming ones. Considering taking one of those just to spite the Ranger, but in the end, his curiosity is piqued by the silvery one and he selects this one for his own. He hefts it's weight, feeling how light it is, before turning back to the task of examining the sarcophagus, looking for a way to move it and also feeling around for traps.

Perception Check: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (18) + 1 = 19

Male Human HP (5/6) | AC/Touch/Flat 13/13/10 | Fort/Ref/Will +0/+3/+3 | Init +3 | Percep +2

Since no one seems to want the glowing blue and flaming sword I shrug and slide both of them into my pack before I resume trying to find a way to open the door I found.

Assisting Haruuc 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (8) + 7 = 15

The Exchange

After a quick investigation of the sarcophagus, you find a catch on the underside of the lid, you realize it's been quite a while since the possessing undead has shown itself.
