Tessirda looked over the contract, and tipped the quill to the bottom portion, where the signature was supposed to be provided. She quickly made a stroke to the top part where her name was supposed to go again, and crossed out the contract entirely. "I am not going to sign this. I promise to behave, I promise not to cheat, and not make an ass out of myself. If you won't let me play without this stupid piece of made-up contract, that is you choice, but you are going to be one gold piece short for it."
With a smile, she added "Let me in anyway?"

"Good luck, sweetheart." The dark-haired succubus says to Zavos as she takes the signed contract from him. When Zelne gives her his, she tells him "Have fun, soldier", then Tessirda enters.

Just past the entry doors of the Gold Goblin is the large main gambling hall of the Gold Goblin. Throughout the hall various gaming tables are set up, with cards, dice, wheels and even little ships floating in water all being played. Silken banners hang from floor to ceiling along the walls, and the ceiling is obscured by curtains draped across it. Chandeliers provide light, as do several copper braziers filled with glowing coals placed around the floor, presumably to give the room a hellish atmosphere. A small shrine to Desna sits at the back of the room, between the kitchen doors. To your right an open area leads to the the bar, and to you left is the cashier's cage where you can exchange cash for gambling chips. 1 cp gets you a "Copper Heart", 1 sp gets you a "Silver Tooth" and 1 gp gets you a "Gold Eye".
In the center of the casino floor is a raised platform, on which a massive gold chest is affixed to it with gold chains. To either side of the chest stands a burly bouncer, each with his arms crossed and a scimitar at his side.
Milling about the room and sitting at the tables are dozens of gamblers and spectators of all sorts: typical Riddleport lowlifes, more well-to do citizens, mages, scholars and bards, halfings and half-orc thugs. Flirting among them are several more faux succubi serving drinks and taking orders. Two more bouncers stand watch over everyone in the room.
High above everything hangs a brass cage inside of which crouches a horned, tailed and winged creature about the size of a halfling. It occasionally squawks something in a strange language and rattles the bars.

The succubus takes the signed contracts form Sorda and gives Zindit a strange look. "Good luck, sir." she says to Sorda "And good luck to... you" she says to Zindit, giving her a nice smile.
Then Ulli enters. He signs the contract and hands it to the woman.
"I am Ulli, called the Ox. Let us meet up later, and you can find out why."
"I sure hope so, handsome." the woman replies, giving Ulli a flirtatious smile.
Sorda
"See the little imp in the cage," points out Sorda to Zindit. "Now that's a denizen of hell, and we have succubi from the Abyss. I'm not sure why the two are here that is a strange combination. Very chalk and cheese."
He wanders about looking at the tables and trying to assess the odds of victory.
"Excuse me."
Amunyet
Amunyet follows closely behind Sorda and Zindit and pays her entrance fee. However, upon reading the contract, she turns it back to the woman and says, in a somewhat insulted tone, "I am sorry, but my soul belongs to none except Pharasma herself, and I cannot sign this document. Will I still be allowed entry, or shall I take my fee back and leave?"
Uzès Voiron
Finished what work he can for the day, Uzès collects the few copper he receives and heads back to his little closet of an apartment to collect the rest of his belongings and wash up. Once clean he heads down the street to the Goblin and pays his entry fee and signs the contract looking around at the mock devilry. The succubi and imp are not a welcome sight but hey he was here to loose it all anyways.

The succubus in charge of the contracts sighs. "What is it with you ladies tonight? Don't worry about signing the contract, just understand the tournament rules. Go ahead and go in."

The succubus in charge of the contracts sighs. "What is it with you ladies tonight? Don't worry about signing the contract, just understand the tournament rules. Go ahead and go in."
Amunyet gives a small, but still audible, sound of indignation, then tells the woman, "I thank you. You have no need to worry about my understanding of anything," then proceeds into the Gold Goblin.
"See the little imp in the cage," points out Sorda to Zindit. "Now that's a denizen of hell, and we have succubi from the Abyss. I'm not sure why the two are here that is a strange combination. Very chalk and cheese."
"'Chalk and cheese?' I'm sorry, but I do not quite understand."
When Sorda excuses himself to check out the games, Amunyet will turn to Zindit and say, "Well, it would seem that Sorda has gone off to his own devices. And I'm sure Master Dag ...er, Ulli here doesn't want us following him around. Perhaps you and I could go search for a game, hmm?" Amunyet is quite certain that something about herself bothers the gnome, and has gotten a bit curious. (And if she was honest with herself, it's starting to get a little ... entertaining to her to see the reaction on Zindit.)
Zavos Szmyr
Zavos shrugs and signs the contract.
"Let them fight with all the others who want my soul."
"Well, my friends," he says to Tessirda and Kelne, "let us purchase some chips and make our way to the tables."
He buys 6 Gold Eyes and 50 Silver Teeth and heads for the Golem tables.
Let's start with a gold and 20 silver: Gambling Roll 1d20+3=15 and Bluff Roll 1d20+3=12
DM Rimrock
Zavos takes a seat at the Golem table. The dealer says: “It’s you verses the greedy golem! Test your skill and take the monster’s pot!”
Two other players are already seated and ready for the next hand.
Zavos, would you like me to just post the result of the entire session, or simulate the game hand-by-hand? It's up to you.
Tessirda
Tessirda joined Zavos by the Golem table, but did not sit down. It did not look as if she had purchased any chips, either. "Golem, hmm? Seems you like to think on your feet."
The other woman who had entered shortly after her was worth a glance over her shoulder. While the "contract" was probably not sitting too well with some of the more superstitious patrons, she had the feeling that this one might have been a bit more principled in her rejection.
Kelne
Kelne simply sighs and purchases 5 gold worth of chips in various denominations. Not even pretending to participate is a quick way to get booted out. Still, he intends this to be his only purchase of chips. If he winds up losing them, so be it.
For now, Kelne sees Zavos ensconced before doing a little wandering, taking in the rest of the hall and deciding which of the games might be best suited to his limited gambling skills.
Uzès Voiron
Uzès grabs a few coins to buy into the goblin selecting a small amount to start he changes ten gold coins into a mixture of golden eyes (7), silver teeth (20) and coppers (100). He then sits down to enjoy a game of golem, requesting a drink when he can. Uzès smiles to the assembled players, "Evenin." he says simply with a quiet voice.
gamble,bluff (1d20+7=26, 1d20+2=17)
and he rocks the table!
EDIT: If a bet is required he'll match anything at the table (currently 1 gold and 20 silver from Zavos.
DM Rimrock
Uzès joins Zavos at one of the Golem tables. Over the course of a few hands, Zavos wins a pot, then loses much of what he won in another hand, and folds a couple of hands, essentially breaking even. Uzès, on the other hand wins a couple of big pots (including the one Zavos lost). The other two players walk away from the table in disgust after Uzès basically cleans them out in the last hand.
Zavos actually makes a small profit of 3 sp.
Uzès makes a net profit of 4 gp and 8 sp.

"See the little imp in the cage," points out Sorda to Zindit. "Now that's a denizen of hell, and we have succubi from the Abyss. I'm not sure why the two are here that is a strange combination. Very chalk and cheese."
Zindit stared in fear and awe at the creature. She was actually a bit relieved to see it caged, but she didn't want to go anywhere near it. Wait, if it's locked up it can't get me if I take its gold!
She pulled out her coinpurse, looking over what little money she had: five gold coins. She seemed unsure how much of her meager funds she was willing to risk. She put three coins back and bought one gold eye and ten silver teeth. As she turned back, Sorda was already gone and Amunyet was looking at her.
Zindit looked around for Sorda in a brief flash of panic before she realized she was cornered. Don't make her suspicious! She wanted to insist on going with Ulli, but Zindit thought that would certainly incriminate her in the priestess' eyes.
Instead she nodded with an awkward, nervous jerk. "O-okay. I can go with you." she stammered, quickly adding, "Ma'am." She was trying her best to keep a neutral face, but her eye still had a hint of fear in it.
She'll follow Amunyet to any game she goes to while doing her best to behave for the moment.
Sorda
Sorda settles on a game of bounder.
He has bought 10 golds worth of chips using one of his platinum pieces.
Steepling his fingers and smiling at the other players, the gullible noble slides a gold eye forwards.
"This looks like a game of simple odds. Yes?"
He rolls the ivory dice and it comes up with a 4.
Tessirda
Tessirda saw that her new acquaintances were doing well enough for themselves, and was pleased. She bought some ale from one of the disguised serving girl, and let herself drift through the crowd of players for a while.
Closer to the Bounder tables, she caught sight of the woman who likewise had refused to sign the "contract" at the entrance. Maybe she'd be an interesting new acquaintance as well.
"Good evening to you. It seems you're not so keen on potential contenders on your soul as well" She said, eyes firmly on Amunyet. Exotic-looking. Had the tournament really produced such a strong pull? She wouldn't have expected that.
Amunyet
Amunyet also decides that it would be best to participate a bit, rather than just wander around. She will use 2gp to purchase a gold eye and 10 silver teeth.

Amunyet smiles. "Good! It will give us a chance to get to know one another." She softens her tone a bit and says, with a sly grin, "I assure you, we Osiriani do not bite. And surely, you've seen those more exotic than myself pass through this town?" (Amunyet still believes Zindit is nervous because she's a foreigner, not because she's a cleric - that would likely not even occur to her.)
Straightening up, she says, "What game do you like? I admit I'm somehwhat unfamiliar with them, and will rely on your expertise."

Is Tessirda wearing anything indicating her worship of Sarenrae? I know she has the wasp tattoo on her shoulder for Calistria visible; seeing BOTH symbols would certainly intrigue Amunyet ...
Amunyet turns to see the elven woman standing next to her. Attractive, in a revealing dress, and with a wasp tattoo covering her shoulder. At first glance, an obvious servant of the Savored Sting. And yet, if that were truly the case, wouldn't she avoid a priestess in favor of more likely 'clientele'? One thing being a follower of the goddess of Death has taught her is that you cannot judge a soul by their appearance ...
"Good evening," Amunyet says, giving a slight, but wary, smile. "No, I could never sign such a document. Whether it be real or false, it is up to Pharasma to judge our souls, and not some fiend of Hell." She looks keenly at Tessirda. "Am I to assume that you also declined the invitation to give away your soul for a few pieces of gold? I am Amunyet Meretshiri, by the way. And this is a new friend of mine, Zindit." (If Zindit has already snuck away, Amunyet will obviously show a great deal of surprise at her being gone ...)
Tessirda
She does - a small necklace ending in pendant depicting the goddess. It is just brass, with some tiny golden highlights on the figure, but worked quite well.
"Besides, even without any souls, this night will flush in quite a healthy bit of money for the owners. Half the town is here, and half of those who are not wish they were, I'd almost wager." She took another good look at the priest. She was already building a mental picture of the woman in front of her, but called herself to stop this.
"My name is Tessirda, and yes. I quite value my soul where it belongs - inside me until my time here is up. Then, it is indeed up to Pharasma's judgement as to where I go. I might still change that final tally a bit, i hope."
DM Rimrock
Sorda appraches one of the Bounder tables. "Bounder! Bounder! No Doubles! No Doubles!" The croupier calls.
"This looks like a game of simple odds. Yes?"
"Yes a simple game" the croupier replies. Sorda rolls a 4. "That is a good roll." the croupier says. "Do you wish to double your bet before I roll?"
Zindit Tamelathi
Amunyet smiles. "Good! It will give us a chance to get to know one another." She softens her tone a bit and says, with a sly grin, "I assure you, we Osiriani do not bite. And surely, you've seen those more exotic than myself pass through this town?" (Amunyet still believes Zindit is nervous because she's a foreigner, not because she's a cleric - that would likely not even occur to her.)Straightening up, she says, "What game do you like? I admit I'm somehwhat unfamiliar with them, and will rely on your expertise."
"Yes ma'am, I've seen stranger people before." Zindit replied without any normal concept of tact. "Some people say I'm strange looking too so you're probably not that strange anyway." She tried to force the corners of her mouth into a smile, hoping she had made a polite and appropriate response.
"I don't know any of the games here. I'm not very good at gambling." The few games she had been adventurous enough to play out on the streets never worked out in her favor. She always seemed to lose even if it clearly looked like she won. At least the people running them said so.
When Amunyet introduced her to Tessirda, she froze in place, realizing she had been caught and couldn't break away from the Osiriani woman without a decent excuse. "H-hullo, miss." she said, looking back and forth between the two women and hoping not to become too entangled in their conversation. When she saw the pendant however,(Will Save: 9) she gasped and instinctively stepped back behind Amunyet's leg, her large gnomish eye as wide as it could be, staring in fear at the elven woman. Oh no no no no no no no no! "I-I have to have to go now Sorda's pr-probably looking for me and I have go, bye." she quickly stammered, taking slow steps back until she was done...
Perception : 7(Sorda's nearby but he must be to her left...)
...and quickly turning and walking off towards the far end of the room, looking over her shoulder to make sure she wasn't being followed. They know I'm here! They know I'm here!
She'll go to the game that's as far as possible from Tessirda and join in to merge with the crowd. She hopes to find Sorda or maybe Ulli so she can stick by them for protection.
Tessirda
Tessirda looked incredulously as the gnomish woman began a poorly-executed flight at her very presence. Had she run across any gnomes in the past? Surely, but... this one wasn't really familiar to her.
"Ermm... enjoy the evening, then?" She said at Zindit's back, shrugging. "I must apologize for scaring your friend off - it seems i am unfamiliar with a bit of history between her and me i really should remember?"
Amunyet

Seeing the pendant clearly representing the Dawnflower, Amunyet suddenly becomes even more intrigued by this elf. Sarenrae AND Calistrian symbols? Certainly a very odd combination for anyone.
Focusing on Tessirda's tattoo, Amunyet says, "Excuse me for staring, but that is a fine piece of artistry on your shoulder. Few even among my own people could produce an image as vivid and intricate as that. A representation of Calistria, is it not?"
When Zindit backs away and leaves, Amunyet comments, "What an odd little gnome. A friend of two other acquaintences of mine; very nervous around strangers, it would seem. She reacted very similarly to myself when we met, and I'm not entirely certain she really wanted to walk around here with me. I cornered her a bit, trying to find out what it was. I'm not certain it has anything to do with you specifically." The fact that Zindit reacted even stronger to Tessirda than she did to her makes Amunyet question if it really was her 'foreign-ness' that made Zindit nervous, after all ...
Tessirda
Tessirda did not seem to mind the attention her tattoo received. Indeed, she even turned her shoulder a little so Amunyet could get a better look at it. The craftsmanship was really quite good, and the sharp yellow color must have been difficult to come by. "It was a gift, actually. One of the Tieflings at the House of Silken Veils did it for me. I... well, I still live there, but in intend to move out soon."
She tried to pick up the gnome in the crowd again, but the momentary distraction had been enough to lose her. Too bad, she'd have liked to learn more about her. "Well, she was willing to at least talk to you. She seemed... frightened. Maybe it is my fault after all - i have been concerned with the revenge aspect of Calistria in the last few years, so maybe she has bad memories of me? It might just be."

"Fine I will." He pushes another eye forwards. "You now roll 3 of the six sided dice. That means 4 chances in 216 of my losing at this point. But the final dice roll I make is where it will become far more interesting."
He ponders the 20 sided dice as the croupier talks to the other players.

"I do not think so. At first, I believed her nervousness was due to my being a foreigner, but now I believe it to be something else. Perhaps she is nervous around other women? She seemed very comfortable around the mage Sorda, and also the very large man Ulli Dagmarssen. Very curious."
Amunyet now pretends to notice the pendant around Tessirda's neck for the first time. "Oh, what a lovely pendant! The Dawnflower, correct? She is very popular in my homeland; almost as much so as my own mistress."
Tessirda
Tessirda chuckled, then giggled, and it took her a few seconds to regain her composture. "Sorry... very dirty thought there just now." She slowly, carefully took off the necklace, and put it out to Amunyet. It probably wasn't too valuable - a few gold pieces at most, silvers more likely. Pretty, but without any appreciable material value.
"It is a gift from a patron." It might not be a good idea to get too open and personal with a complete stranger, but she'd never been one to bottle up what was inside - from her seeking revenge to opening up to someone who probably would have appreciated much more if she had given him her ear for his own troubles. "She is a goddess of rebirth, transformation and the change of the supposedly unchangeable. So yes, it is dear to me."
Ulli 'The Ox' Dagmarssen
"I sure hope so, handsome." the woman replies, giving Ulli a flirtatious smile.
"You betcha! Do not change your clothing. I like it, yah?" Ulli gives the woman a bold wink, the sloppy grin never fading from his face. At last, the big fellow manages to tear himself away from the table and he enters the main gambling area.
Ulli stares about wide-eyed at the diverse crowd, the infernal decor and the unusual gambling atttractions, just taking it all in. They certainly didn't have events like this in the frozen north he once called home. With an incredulous shake of his head, Ulli looks around and notices that Sorda has disappeared, while Amunyet and Zindit are making conversation with a lovely elven woman in a form-fitting dress. So many lovely ladies in this place! But, time enough to meet her later...it was time for a drink.
Ulli calls out to the nearest 'succubus' waitress, "One cup here, lady, and do not go far away! I will be needing many more, yah?" While waiting for the waitress to return with his drink, Ulli impatiently looks around for someone who looks like they might be in charge. He knows for certain he could do just as good a job at guarding that big chest as those other fellows...better even! He just needs a way to demonstrate his strength. Ulli is about to approach the pair of bouncers and challenge them to an arm wrestling contest, when the rattle of metal from above his head interrupts his half-formed thought.
Ulli looks up at the horned creature shaking the bars of its cage, and a sudden realization sets in. This must be the devil for whom the tournament is named! The barbarian cups his hands over his mouth, and manages to bellow even above the noise of the crowd. "Hey you devil! We are here to take your gold, how do you like that, eh?" With a grin, Ulli shakes his fist at the creature in mock challenge, drawing a number of stares from nearby patrons.

"Yes, I am very familiar with the faith of Sarenrae," Amunyet says as she looks over the pendant from Tessirda. "Very nice craftsmanship; I can see why it is precious to you." She hands it back to Tessirda with a smile. Hmmm ... the wasp tattoo of Calistria, but now wearing a pendant of Sarenrae. Her emphasis on change and rebirth, rather than the sun. I suppose the combination of the two symbols is not so odd as I first thought, Amunyet thinks to herself.
"So, are you here as an observer, or do you think you will try some of the games?"
Zavos Szmyr
Zavos leaves the Golem table, a little miffed that the half-orc showed up and stole his luck.
He quickly brightens, "Ah well, there are plenty of games, and lots of time. Perhaps some Bounder..."
He heads over to the bounder tables, and hears some pedant going on about the odds of the game, so chooses another table.
"Let's try this, my good man. I wager 1 Gold Eye."
"I choose not to double."
DM Rimrock
"Fine I will." He pushes another eye forwards. "You now roll 3 of the six sided dice. That means 4 chances in 216 of my losing at this point. But the final dice roll I make is where it will become far more interesting."

Tessirda returned the pendant to its place around her neck, and looked over the room for a moment. Things looked decent for now. "I'm going to watch for the moment. Maybe once it cools down a little, I'll do a few rounds on the bounder table, but this really isn't about me so much tonight."

That he pissed off an entire table of golem players didn't seem to bother him. He wandered around a bit taking in the sights before settling in for a game of skiffs.
I didn't see how the betting on skiffs went, Uzes would bet one gold eye if it came to that or pay the amount required to play.
Tessirda
"I'll be around here somewhere" Tessirda agreed. She only then realized that she had talked a whole lot, but had no idea what the woman really was after - much talk, no listen. She probably had botched things up a good bit.
No matter, at least she was feeling as if she had left a good impression.

Sorda rolls the dice around in his fingers and then spins it across the baize cloth.
With a 5 on the dice, he watches as the croupier collects his 2 gold eyes.
Then he sets another gold coin down ready for the next round. When it gets to his turn he spins the dice again and it comes up a ten. He doesn't double.

If we were to actually simulate a hand, it would definitely come into play; which we can do if you want. However, for using the reuslts for the session involving several hands we were just using Bluff; but in retrospect I should have added Sense Motive. If you want to, go ahead and roll a Sense Motive, Bluff, both or neither, and I'll use the results to possible modify the Charisma check.

First roll (1d20=3)Doubles her bet to 4sp
Second roll, if needed (1d20=9) that's gambling for you
The dealer rolls a 5. "A winner!"
Amunyet wins 4 silver teeth.
DM Rimrock
That he pissed off an entire table of golem players didn't seem to bother him. He wandered around a bit taking in the sights before settling in for a game of skiffs.
skiffs (1d20+7=19)
I didn't see how the betting on skiffs went, Uzes would bet one gold eye if it came to that or pay the amount required to play.
1 gold eye is fine. I didn't specify a minimum bet, so I guess there is none
"Step up to the lake and get your racers ready! There's a storm a'comin'!" The dealer cries as Uzès approaches the skiffs table. The skiffs game goes fairly well for Uzès and he ends up winning 3 silver teeth.

Then he sets another gold coin down ready for the next round. When it gets to his turn he spins the dice again and it comes up a ten. He doesn't double.
The dealer proceeds to roll a 14 on his turn.
Sorda
Sorda tuts as his dice comes up 1. Again the gold disappears.
Then he pushes 3 golden eyes forwards. "By the law of averages you should not keep flummoxing my dice rolls like this. I intend to win back what I have lost."
He picks up the dice again. "All I need is for you to roll high then low or the opposite way round."Then he realises he has been talking to his die.
"Hmph!"
The 20 sided wobbles across and rests against the gold coins. Its a 17.
"Double." Nearly all the rest of his chips are pushed forwards.
Amunyet
Amunyet wins 4 silver teeth.
Amunyet cracks a slight smile as the dealer pushes the 4 silver teeth to her. She lays down 3 this time, and rolls the dice again.
She doubles again to 6 silver teeth.
"Hmmm," she says, and frowns ...
don't think you even need to roll for the dealer on that one
