I'm starting to dezombify, and as a result, I'm scrambling to get commissions started. Here's what I've got so far:

- Variel 2.0 - base sketch is blocked out, may take even more time than anticipated. Should be done by late 2010.
- Joleesa Morvais - frantically searching for stock photos

I'm also working on three personal works, plus a drawing for a neighbor of her cat. Oh, yeah, and I have to do a series of portrait photos for a friend's drama school application. Whee! I am so f$#!ing swamped, it's not even funny!

Scarab Sages

Ok...been real busy, but I got a bunch of drawings up. No commissions though. A couple of them are fantasy though. Like Bonestaff Skellington and Darkwing the Necromancer, two of the 5 founding members of Lefty's rights (I'll get around to explaining them someday...basically your typical adventuring group NPC background party. There's also the first drawing I did of my brother's mage Richard Knox and a Gith Jedi...That's fantasy, right?

Wren

That's really good. I'm a little creeped out by the way her dress is snaking around her bellybutton, 'though! It looks like it's alive!

Wow! really good job there Mishi! love the style :D

Seoni's Xmas draw will come very early tomorrow, as all Xmas presents are supposed to be given, paper wrap and all!!! ;)

Feliz Navidad a todos!

Scarab Sages

And a Merry Christmas to all the artists and others.

Liberty's Edge

Wasn't sure if my mojo was totally back yet, so I drew one of my own characters as a test. You be the judge.

I've seen that strip before and enjoyed it.

I can't help imagining Dora with the same voice as Jayne in 'Daria'.
Is that wierd?
Do other people 'hear' the written word, or am I just a freak?

I hear people, but I don't know who Jayne is.

In my mind, Dora sounds a bit like Jewel Staite.

I have a question for the DeviantArts people around here, is there something going on with the filters on Deviant Art's site? I used to be able to view a couple of fairly good galleries that had some mature content in them but it seems like now it just boots me out of those areas or fails to display thumbnails. Are they deciding to hold back some content to try to force people to join the website with a monthly payment or something? Or is something wrong with my account info?

did you accidently turn back on the mature filter? cuz i'm not having any problems...though I am a subscriber, so i'm not sure if it'll help you...

Here goes a gift from Seoni hersel...literally!

Seoni's Present

Later on I'll upload another "cleaner" image of her for posters and prints ;)

Maybe it is!?

I'm sure a priestess of Calistria could find a use for a Sarong of Binding...

And finally:

Foppin Valewarder

I hope you like it!

My first Halfling ever. I like Golarion's twist on Halflings ang gnomes, making gnomes more feylike and drawing a clearer line between halflings and gnomes psysichal appearances. In my view Halflings are more "stubby, child-like people" and the Gnome more thin, fey-like fellows. What do you think? ALso I uploaded a couple sketches on the Scraps gallery on the process of this one.

Next: A personal female. This one is on sketch process already so it shoul be up tomorrow latest.

Is it me or these days the boards are too quiet? Holiday week I suppose.

EDIT: Tamec, would you share a small description/background on Foppin for uploading it on deviant?

Dark Archive

So uh no one interested in doing a drawing of Merle then?

I think the artists are backed up - plus it's the holidays. :P

So, I looked back for your post, and the link doesn't work so I still don't know what sort of catfolk you are looking for. I still have eleven of a series of twelve that I'm working on, and I promised to have the next one done the first week in January. I was planning to take this week off of drawing, but I can try to squeeze in your catfolk if you'd like. Just get me that link and a little more description by tomorrow, 'kay?

Silver Crusade

Awesome work Hugo.

I don't have the campaign setting yet but are halflings still nomadic gypsies? I never liked that change in 3.x. My original concept doesn't mesh with being nomadic, and I don't know if there are any permanent settlements.

Spoiler:
The Valewarders have been guardians of the Vale for many generations. Most of the family have close ties to the land, Foppin, being the oldest was trained in martial combat. Of the other family members his brother Fappin and sister Feppin were trained in the druidic ways. Not to say that there aren't traditionalists in the family the youngest brother Fuppin is a "typical" halfling.

Foppin stands 3'4" tall and weighs 38 pounds making him one of the tallest and hardiest halflings in the Vale. He tends to wear loose fitting clothes of browns, greens, and grays while out on patrol, but most nights, though, when he's not on patrol he's just as happy wear more colorful clothes and to sit back with some good leaf and a mug of ale.

I love that though she is Bathing she is not unarmed. That is just so much a combat rouge!

Oh, and since I got distracted and didn't mention it earlier, I absolutely love Foppin, Hugo.

Okay hopefully this link works

http://arafaxdeep20.deviantart.com/art/Silver-and-Gold-74284368

Light brow fur with black stripes, dark brown shoulder length hair, blue eyes, Long striped tail.

clothing

Simple short sleaved open legged robe (dark blue), belt with three wands tied to it, pair of well worn thigh length boots.

The Exchange

Hugo and other artist I have a request, not necessarily for new artwork, but that would be nice, No I ask you to Help a brother out with some art work for his Psionic rules update for the pathfinder system. I think it would look very snazy with just a little art. that and adding in anything else you creative geniuses have in store.

Cool, that link works. I have a pretty good idea what you're looking for now. Just one thing....umm, is Merle a girl?

Thanks for the kind words on Foppin!

Crimson Jester, right now I can't participate since the inbox its more than full.... Luckly I got more magazine commissions and those are like ten more drawings... :S

Here's Seoni without text and wraping paper if someone wants to print a pinup ;)

Okay, I confess, I am a sucker for psionics. I don't have time for a lot, but I can probably manage a small sketch of a psicrystal wandering about. *sigh* I'm not very good at taking time off, am I?

Silver Crusade

Yay! now have a new calendar and a new miniature....hmmm I've never wanted to have a PC dead so I can play a new PC before

An "I'll draw you as your PC" character for Yasha's wife, Luna

Morghan Vail

I hope you like it!

Next: Lots of magazine commissions (yay!) that I have to deliver next week (not Yay...), I'll try to continue pulling two or three PCs on the next 12 days.

I gotta say, Hugo, you are creating a beautiful portfolio. I checked out your latest and then scanned through your DeviantArt folio and you have an amazing amount of fantastic work there that has been produced pretty quickly.

If Paizo doesn't offer you some work shortly and pull you in as an artist, I personally am gonna be very upset. Your breadth of talent is phenomenal and the level of quality in your art is easily on par with what I see in Paizo products.
I am inspired by you and also intimidated by you. I wish I had your level of talent.

I think you've just summed up my feelings on the subject quite nicely.

Now there, you are going to make me blush :)

Well, I think I got the practice back but there's still a long way to go on proportions and muscles. Also, the most important thing... I'm still not coloring... :( Hopefully soon I'll get my tablet and build up a color portfolio. Also during in this proccess I'm starting to get a few "published" stuff on my portfolio so maybe on 6 more months I could be taken seriously ;)

Thanks for the super-kind words and all the support!

Don't ever thank me for kind words. I thank you for the amazing art(for free, no less!) and the joy of trying to learn from someone who is truly talented in an area that I struggle to be talented in. You deserve and easily earn every kind word I could ever offer and I fully plan to try to sway the Paizo staff to get your art in some of the products I buy from them.

Maybe a good, old-fashioned, petition. In the form of a thread.

I really appreciated the support! and the fact that lots of people joined in the "free art effort" so we can all learn from each other its really great! I hope more people keep joining up and we all continue feeding this thread such cool artwork.

And for the thread petition, gimme a few more months where I can build a color portfolio or your're going make me fall short! ;)

Check this out, pretty please!!!

My first mags commissions!

I also love that comic strip. I love that comic strip so much that I read it from beginning to end over the course of two days and got no sleep. Gee thanks. I need another comics addiction like ... um ... hmmm ... well, I need another comics addiction. Yeah.

Is that Vilya? Nice work Shiny!

Kevin, I finished Merle last night, but haven't been able to get a turn with the scanner yet. (It's one of those all-in-ones, and the husband was using it to print work reports. Can't really kick him off when he's using it for the paying job.) I should be able to get it scanned later this afternoon, and I will put it up here as soon as I can.

Liberty's Edge

Fake Healer I agree wih you in every word
Hugo is doing a great service to us all and he surely deserves attention to his art

also the rest: Kayos, Wren, Mr Shiny, Lilith and so many others are doing a great effort and giving their personal time to give us art that we enjoy.

cheers for you all friends :)

Edit PS: now... we need to begin critizing them a bit more :P otherwise like the caesars and generals of old Rome they will grow contentious and not continue growing :P

i know... i know... next week when i had finished HBO's Rome 2nd Season i would be less roman in my comments :P

Send Montalve to the Lions!!! How you dare judge us!?!?!

*sends the praetorian guard to get Montalve*

Well, while the praetorians are trying to catch Montalve to throw him to the lions, here's something else for your viewing pleasure. ;)
