Ianthé Jack |
Ianthe will show on G-19
She was thankful that nothing got snagged or caught on limbs and twigs as she moved, taking note of her situation from an intellectual point of view. At present, she was trying to figure out how many bandits there coudl possibly be in this location, without their presence being noticed. So far, her guess was at "under 10", since anything more than that would start to be noticable, especially with the proximity to the town. If there were more, she was betting that they would have been seen by the town, or at least the travelers there... Unless the Harpy took care of a few of them, but she was on the other side, so it was not likely.
Pulling herself out of her thoughts, Ianthé looked at what she could see from her vantage point, turning her mind towards the task at hand.

Mel curses silently then sees the others arrive at which she doubles away from the wall and back to her pillar. She waves the others up gesturing towards the wall and indicating that there are an unknown number of people behind it

Guys , something is wrong there !
You began this fight well and now you are letting your opponents regroup ....
If you want a battle royale which frankly has good luck of a TPK , tell me so
If not , we'll backtack to mel's post on august 3 and go on from there
worse case , you are bored and want to stop . Then just say so . I'll admit my posting was not up to the grad .

Melissa Evendale |

Mel moves back to the wall at the corner and then darts across the opening trying to get a line of sight on the people she knows are there.
Move to K10 and shoot the first bandit she sees
1d20 + 5 ⇒ (17) + 5 = 22 Damage 1d8 ⇒ 3

robin |
first round :
Mel : init 20 in K10
Adjunta init 20 in U12 , does not see any bandit yet
Hasim init 13 move to K16 to better see the combat and cast mage armor on himself
Bandits init : 12
Heren init 10 :
Ianthe init 4
Mel moves to K10 and fires in direction of E-F-H-I 10 1d6 ⇒ 6
Adjunta's turn to act and then it's going to be MY turn . Bwah ha ha ha !!

robin |
One brigand looks at the arrow stocking in his craw and decides to move to G7 .
Two brigands move ( Adjunta is hindered by mel's presence and miss.), one move to L9 and the other to J9 thus flanking Mel
They attack Mel 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (11) + 3 = 141d8 + 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (5) + (5) + 1 = 11 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (7) + 3 = 101d8 + 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (3) + (2) + 1 = 6
Happily they both miss ...
On the corner of his eye , Adjunta see one brigand moving to S7 from P4 .

Unprepared. She was most certainly unprepared. When Heren took off charging, she hissed a curse and drew her staff across the air in front of her as if she was painting a wide barrier. Her left hand sketched something into the air that she had just drawn her staff across, bracelets jingling. She pressed the staff forward as if she were pushing against something. "Phalanx", she spoke aloud, then ducked her head and hastened forward to a pillar for cover.
Shield cast, 60/60 rounds left. Shield facing north. AC 16
Ianthé moves to G-14

Melissa Evendale |

Mel drops her crossbow and steps back 5 feet to K11 drawing her rapier and readying an attack on the first bandit that approaches.
Readied attack
Rapier 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (19) + 5 = 24 Damage 1d6 ⇒ 2
Critical confirm 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (9) + 6 = 15 Damage 1d6 ⇒ 2

robin |

And two other peoples arrive from O6 , they are equipped with studded leather armor and great axes , one moves to K9 and attacks Mel ( yes they are moving fast..)

Heren Andercrote |

Forums are glitchy of late! Tell me if I'm getting the map wrong.
Heren takes his attack of oppurtunity against the fleeing bandit from K10 to L4, 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (20) + 4 = 24 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (8) + 4 = 12.
He is then assaulted by a strong bandit, who deals him a grivious blow. He drops his lance and draws his longsword, swinging it down upon his attacker 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (9) + 7 = 16 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 9
He gives the word for Harstandir to attack and the warhorse responds by biting and kicking at the strong bandit who attacked Heren.
bite: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (9) + 3 = 12 1d4 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7
hoof #1: 1d20 - 2 ⇒ (4) - 2 = 2 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5
hoof #2: 1d20 - 2 ⇒ (7) - 2 = 5 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3
I hope that knocks two of them, becasue Heren is toast if her gets hit again.
Am I the only level 1 character? I've forgotten why Mel and Adjunta seem to be level 2.
Map to come once I know whos dead.

Ianthé Jack |
Looking around the pillar, Ianthé stepped out and channeled the latent energy in her staff, pointing it towards one of the new entrants into the fight that was attacking Heren. "Raikedrunfii!" she said loudly, as a corruscating ray shot from the tip of her staff towards him.
5ft step into (G-12) Ranged Touch @ K-10: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (20) + 2 = 22 Str loss: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 = 7
Shield 59/60 rounds left. Shield facing north. AC 16

No Attack of Opportunity when someone only withdraws : Sorry
Also if you want to make your horse (not warhorse) attack , you need a DC20 ride but if you fail , you also lose your attack: Your choice ...
That's the benefit of combat training at level 4 I suppose! Okay, Harstandir doesn't attack.

At level 4 he becomes a warhorse, i.e. gets the combat trained special ability.

Mel falls dead letting Heren alone against two opponents . Seeing this , the one bandit in L4 comes back moving to L10
The one bandit which attacked Mel moves to J10 to strike Heren
The bandit in K11 has a fortitude save to make 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (17) + 3 = 20
Despite his success , he swears at Ianthe menacing her of with profanities.
A bandit emerges from where the two new bandits came from and moves to M5
Bandit in T10 attacking Adjunta : 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (13) + 2 = 151d8 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5
Bandit in K10 striking Heren 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (18) + 5 = 231d12 + 5 ⇒ (2) + 5 = 7

Round 4
Mel init 20
Adjunta init 20

Ianthé Jack |
Moving from her position behind the pillar, her feet falling hastily on the ground over the stones in the piazza. Ianthé retreats slightly, trying to keep everyone in her sight. Seeing Heren fall was dismaying, and she did not see Mel on the ground until she moved. She could see Adjunta, but not who he was fighting. She could not run away, and she had no spells that were appropriate enough for the situation, something that she despised, so instead she aimed her crossbow.
Ianthé moves from (G-13) to (L-14), Crossbow 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (16) + 2 = 18; Dmg 1d8 ⇒ 8
What happens to a cavalier that goes into negatives while riding his horse? Does he remain on his horse? What does the horse do?
You make mention of a bandit moving from (K-10) to (L-4), but nothing further, and two fall victim to the Sleep spell, but where did the other one come from?

robin |
Seeing this , the one bandit in L4 comes back moving to L10
Just in time to fall victim of the sleep in fact ...
Otherwise Ianthe's Crossbow attack makes the one bandit in J10 fall to the ground ! Good shot !I would say Heren has fallen from his horse and that for the moment the horse blocks the way to you for the bandit in M5 .

Makes sense. I totally forgot I was mounted for a sec. I have a 25% chance of staying in the saddle, but it's nearly better if I'm on the ground. Can Harstandir attack or will he back out of combat?
