Garroth Ur'Than
Garroth tries his best to appear weak and broken, but will work enough to avoid a beating. He will try to appear as uncoordinated and out-of-shape as he can, trying all the while to get a good count on the guards in this area, and listen to hear if there are any miners interested in maybe getting out of here, or even getting a bit of payback ...

Topside
You skirt the town, and without interacting don't find much. Near dawn many townfolks head toward the mine and come back near sunset. Of a day not much happens in the town, a small fishing fleet sails the river, barges are loaded, and normal town activity. No sigh of the Valenar the first day, however the town seems to get a bit rowdy once the miners come into town, taverns and a brothel seem to get a bit busy, but nothing to exciting. Most of the miners seem to head to group barracks for the night.
Below
You work all day with no talk, speaking gets one beat with the barbed whips it seems, every few hours water is given out from a barrel pulled by two slaves. Its clean, but warm water. Several hours later another set of slaves hand out a thick tasteless gruel, to you in groups of twenty. Again you eat in silence as the day drags on.
After many hours your taken in groups down tunnels into vaults with Iron bars, and locked inside. A few buckets for wast, some filthy covers and a tough for the gruel are the cells only features. that and the seventeen other slaves locked inside with you. You see a haggard bunch, 12 men and five women, all look worn out and all are human. The dirt coating them makes age hard to tell. They give you blank stares as they crouch near the blankets
Keeper of Forbidden Lore
Folks in the cell are just shackled, and behind the iron bars. The shackles are of average make, and the bars look of better workmenship, fixed into the wall in some way you can not see.
One grimy man, who looks like he hasn't rested in days speaks up with a raspy voice "No, your the first we have seen. If you know whats good for you, act weak or they be sending you below, may do it anyhow. Your kind be good in a fight , so I hear." others in the group mutter in agreement "wont be here long" "aye, be sent below" "yeah, like the others" "Be seeing the keeper soon you will"
Garroth Ur'Than
"So uh that would be a no to a plan then?" Lethe asks when she recieves no answer.
I was waiting to see if we got a response from the other slaves. Garroth is trying to goad them a bit, to see if there's any potential for an uprising, or if they are all just 'sheep' now ...
Garroth Ur'Than
Sorry busy last few days
"What is there to fight?" on slave says "We have no weapon, no way out and the guards are fast with the whip. Any trouble and you go below, that be the last anyone see of ya."
"And you believe that this existance is better? Bah, I'd rather die than live like this for long. It only takes overpowering one guard to get weapons! Wouldn't you rather die on your feet than live bent over mining?"
Keeper of Forbidden Lore
The man shacks his head "Those who make Time and keep quite earn freedom after 5 years in the mine. But those who go below are never seen again." A few others nod " d'Kundarak is a harsh man but keeps his word. The Valenar would see us dead in this place, he offers a chance to see the sun again. Skaros though Would happy to see us all dead. Do not cross that one" the others give sounds of agreement.
Synatria Silven
Lethe turns on Synatria stamping over and towering over her "Kobold I should beat you to within an inch of your life and beyond for what you did back there" Leteh cracks her knuckles for emphasis.
Synatria turns to Lethe. "Let me make something clear, you idiotic lycanthrope. One truth does not make a bloody confession. Now shut up."
She turns to Garroth. "Talk like this can get you sent down. Don't peddle your life so cheerfully. Somebody might buy it."| Lethe |

Synatria makes no attempt to dodge. She stares at Lethe impassively. "Don't."

Lethe Ignores the Kobolds words and try's to grab her.
Raging Grapple
1d20 + 9
Synatria does not resist, and she seems dulled to the pain. She keeps talking, even as she is brought to the ground. "You idiot. You will be sent down, deep down, and you will never find her. All I told them was that we sought her. I never told them anything important. They don't know about Them. They don't know what is going on. But if you don't stop, you will die."

Lethe plants her fist firmly in the Kobolds stomach
Damage (none lethal)
1d4 + 5 ⇒ (2) + 5 = 7
Synatria Silven
When Synatria is hit, she lets out a small gasp. And then her eyes glow silver. Her crest perks up. And her scales shine.
"That was a threat."
She clutches her nest, and prays.
Casting Summon Nature's Ally. A stirge will appear next round.
Speaking of rounds, I guess we should roll Initiative, shouldn't we?
1d20 + 1 ⇒ (20) + 1 = 21
Synatria Silven
If im not mistaken it is a concentration check to cast whilst grappled. Also would Synatria not have had the nest taken off her earlier?
Initiative
1d20 + 3
I assumed it looked too minor to be taken away.
The Grappled condition says that you can do anything you could do with one hand, generally, such as casting a spell. But you're right, I do need to make a check. One sec...1d20 + 6 ⇒ (14) + 6 = 20
And with a DC of 10+your CMB (9)+spell level (1) that barely makes it.
Garroth Ur'Than
Well, they're going to get sent down. Question is, do I join in and get sent down too, or stay up here? Garroth ponders as he watches the melee progress. Well, maybe I can stop it before it gets too bad ...
Garroth lunges at Lethe, attempting to grapple and pin her before this gets much worse.
grapple 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (8) + 9 = 17
Synatria Silven
"Stay out of thisss" Lethe growls at Garroth as she continues to try and pummel Synatria
Dang, nice CMD.
Suddenly, a strange thing resembling a giant, fleshy mosquito appear. It buzzes over and lunges at Lethe with its proboscis.1d20 + 7 ⇒ (17) + 7 = 24
If stinger hits, then Grapple attempt: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (16) + 11 = 27
"Get off, you fool, or we'll both die!" Synatria shouts.
Attempting to break grapple: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (11) + 1 = 12
Also, Lethe is dealt 1 Con damage.
Disease chance: 1d100 ⇒ 43. On 10 or below, Lethe will gain a disease, DM's choice which one.
Keeper of Forbidden Lore
First off in a world of magic, where it is part and parcel of eberron life and with the house of warding involved, yeah the nest would have been taken unless she had it hidden. When I said stripped to base clothing, I meant just that. Unless she found a creative hiding spot it was taken.
Now on to rules issues. Both lethe and Synatria have the grappled condition.-4 dex, -2 all attack or CMB rolls not made to grapple or escape grapple. That makes lethes CMD 18, but still a miss from Garroth. So we can go back to the round Synatria cast SNA I as she does not have the nest.
OK any questions?
Lethe
Lethe drops Synatria to the floor but continues to stand over her clearly struggling to maintain control. "You speak of truths fine let as look at the truths. Before you opened you're mouth the guards knew nothing more than that we were prisoners if we tried to do anything no ill would fall on anyone besides us." Her voice rises as she continues "but now they know why we are here, they also have a fair idea who it is we are looking for and they know these mines a lot better than we do. So please explain what is to stop these guards if we try anything from getting my sister and either using her as a shield or slitting her throat?"
Keeper of Forbidden Lore
Sorry guys my connection has been spotty. Sign seem to work fine till I try to update. I think The snow hates games.
The slaves gasp as the fight brakes out, but it is over in a manner of seconds. The look fearful as if someone will burst in at any moment. But as far as you can tell your brawl has gone unnoticed.

Topside folks anyplans for day two
In the mines
Your awoken by one of the guards banging upon the cell wall 'up and at em breakfast time' A human with a whip says as two others pour gruel into a tough. The other slaves move over to the gruel scoping it out with wooden bowls as they scramble off to hungrily get their fill. The guards stand and watch as the meal is quickly wolfed down by the slaves.
Keeper of Forbidden Lore
After everyone has eaten the two guards that were holding the gruel , armed with clubs stand near the door and herd out the slaves as the 3rd stands yelling with whip in hand 10 feet away "Hurry up! Work wont do it's self now will it' He says with a crack of the whip as the slaves are herded down the tunnel to the seemingly endless work of the mine.
