The Keeper of forbidden lore looks into many realms, countless worlds. Today she casts her glaze upon Eberron, but not the Eberron that you know. This Eberron magic and the technology of magic have moved more then the one you know. House Cannith produces the compounds for repeating crossbows that has found there way into every nations armies. Warforged of diffent builds and makes still walk from the forges. Troops are bogged down in trenches, airships both great and small fill the sky. Fields are lined with hidden blast disks. Here unlike most Eberrons magic and technology are truly becoming one.
Here there was no day of morning, no end of the Last war. In the year 1008 the last war rages. Cyre Still struggles to hold on. For the last 12 years Cyre has stockpiled it’s troops mass-produced it’s transports and weapons. For 12 long years it’s saw towns and fields fall to the enemies as the trenches pushed back. Now is the time of Cyre’s new offensive. The preparations of 12 long years are now at hand. And at the for fount is the 112th regiment the infamous black caps.

You will take to role of these elite commandos. You will be at the for fount, raiding plans, assassinating commander, sabotaging what is need. You will do what is needed, You will see it done, You will not fail.

Welcome to the Black Caps.

Spoiler:

Cyre was the future. At the height of the Kingdom of Galifar, Cyre was a land of arcane dreams made manifest. It came to be known as Beautiful Cyre, the Purple Jewel in Galifar’s Crown, and Wondrous Cyre. To some, it was considered a land of decadence and arrogance, but to the rest of the kingdom, it was paradise. When Jarot attained the throne of Galifar, none of his children were yet of an age to take over the administration of the Five Nations. Regents and the existing governor-princes ( Jarot’s younger brothers and sisters)
continued to govern and served as mentors and teachers for Jarot’s scions. Mishann, the oldest of Jarot’s children, was sent to Cyre to learn at the knee of her uncle and prepare for her role as governor-prince and, eventually, monarch of Galifar. Just as it was since Galifar
united the kingdom, just as it would be forever. However, Mishann and the rest of the kingdom would discover that nothing remains the same forever. When King Jarot died, Mishann prepared for the journey to Thronehold to attend her father’s funeral and to take the crown that was her birthright as the eldest scion. Her siblings each brought armed troops to
the funeral, and before Mishann could be coronated, Thalin challenged the right of eldest succession. With loyal knights of the Silver Flame at his side, Thalin asserted that he was the better choice to be king of Galifar. Kaius and Wroann supported Thalin, in so far as they wanted a different method of selection to be put in place. “Why should the oldest and weakest automatically gain the crown?” Wroann asked. Wrogar supported Mishann’s claim, but the other three rejected her. Wrogar was able to stop the scions from spilling royal blood at Thronehold, but the five siblings and their followers departed the island without reaching any resolution to the question of succession. Before the year was out, the fi rst battles of the Last War erupted, and each sibling eventually declared his or her own ambition to take the crown. As the kingdom collapsed and the Five Nations became fi ve distinct and separate countries, war spread throughout the land. Beautiful Cyre, of all the nations, wound up as the battleground on which much of the Last War was fought. In addition to the troops from Karrnath, Thrane, and Breland clashing with each other and Cyran forces in this region, Cyre also became the place where Darguun, Valenar, Talenta tribes, and Lhazaar pirates came to loot, plunder, or seek land to expand into.

Cyre’s for the last century has been an incredible series of highs and lows. Led by the legitimate heir to the Throne of Galifar, Mishann ir’Wynarn, the country first appeared to be ready to fall to the combined might of Breland, Karrnath, and Thrane. But an inspired bit of negotiation brought the warbands of the Valaes Tairn to Khorvaire to fight for Cyre (or at least Cyran gold), and the other nations’ leaders quickly turned on each other as each decided to take the crown of the kingdom. For six decades Cyre enjoyed success out of
all proportion with its size and might. When Shearas Vadallia declared himself High King of Valenar, carving out an empire in Cyre’s midst, it seemed Cyre was once again doomed. Then came the warforged, bolstering Cyre’s forces and giving it the strength to survive despite the toll constant warfare was taking on the countryside. Still, their fortunes were waning, and many parts of northern and western Cyre became battlefields. Step by bloody step, the fighting wound toward Metrol and the few pristine cites left in the south. Rumors abounded that Queen Dannel and her advisors have plans for a major new offensive that would throw back the invaders. Dannel’s uncanny charisma inspired a nation and, despite the losses, spirits are high. Cyre’s martial academies and arcane colleges continued to attract students eager to learn the skills necessary to defend the nation.

The people
The Cyrans once held the world in their hands. Cyre was on the artistic and cultural cutting edge of Galifar, with new trends constantly starting and spreading out of the nation. Cyrans know how to enjoy life and the fruits of their labors. Art, music, fashion—there is no constant in Cyre, other than constant experimentation and change. The Cyrans value an outlook on
life that became known as the Cyran appreciation. This described a philosophy and lifestyle that appreciated beauty and magic, and promoted avant-garde and unconventional behavior in art and life in general. This was seen by the majority of Galifar as remarkable and wondrous until the time of the Last War. Then, propaganda and vicious rumors turned a virtue into an excess. As the war raged around them, Cyran nobles allowed their indulgent lifestyles to take darker turns, and words such as decadent, vile, and immoral began to be used to describe the Cyrans.

APPEARANCE AND DRESS
Whether fighting, dancing, or standing perfectly still, Cyrans possess a poise and elegance that is the envy of all the other nations. Cyrans tend to be slender and long-limbed, with a casual, willowy grace that shines from within. Their hair is often wavy and of medium length, allowed to hang free so as to shift naturally with their movements. Nearly all Cyrans have dark hair, but a few are born with stark white locks—tradition states that such youths are to be encouraged to take up spellcasting, and most do show an aptitude for it. Cyran clothing is highly diverse in cut and style, but most garments have long, flowing elements—the people like clothing that will catch even a small breeze and ripple with the air currents. Short cloaks are common, as are wide sleeves. The most noticeable element of traditional Cyran dress is gloves. Cyrans favor short, sturdy gloves for work and fighting, and longer, beautifully tooled and decorated gloves for formal wear. Their hands are rarely exposed, and an ungloved handshake is a sign of special trust. Formal occasions are not identified by a change in clothing, but by a sharp increase in jewelry, and often the addition of masks. Festivals and balls always incorporate an element of costuming. Cyrans simply adore jewelry, and they collect all manner of pieces as their fortunes allow. Loose hanging necklaces, earrings, and bracelets, particularly those that include small bells or brightly colored feathers, are preferred. The most spectacular of these adornments are their headdresses—elaborate pieces that run from the brow, over the head and shoulders and well down the wearer’s back.

MAGIC AND RELIGION
Many Cyrans are occasional worshipers of the Sovereign Host, though one could not call Cyre as a nation religious. Cyran magic runs the gamut from flashy to practical. As the center of Galifar culture, Cyre make great use of all the dragonmarked houses and countless bards and lesser wizards to build an almost fairytale kingdom of light and grace.

male Human 8th level seeker/6th level gamer /4th level bad speller

Most classes do as it is a simple weapon....This is not the standard reaping crossbow from the PHB I should have made that clear.

Any class that can use simple weapons or a light crossbow can use one. They are modified crossbows, simple weapons

Spoiler:

Scout

• +2 Constitution, +2 wis, –2 Charisma: Warforged
are resilient and powerful, but their difficulty
in relating to other creatures makes them seem aloof
or even hostile.
• Medium: As Medium constructs, warforged have no
special bonuses or penalties due to their size.
• Warforged base land speed is 30 feet.
• Composite Plating: The plating used to build a
warforged provides a +2 armor bonus. This plating
is not natural armor and does not stack with other
effects that give an armor bonus (other than natural
armor). This composite plating occupies the same
space on the body as a suit of armor or a robe, and
thus a warforged cannot wear armor or magic robes.
Warforged can be enchanted just as armor can be.
The character must be present for the entire time it
takes to enchant him.
Composite plating also provides a warforged
with a 5% arcane spell failure chance, similar to
the penalty for wearing light armor. Any class ability
that allows a warforged to ignore the arcane spell
failure chance for light armor lets him ignore this
penalty as well.

*Sneaky: You made of dark woods and coverings and of a slender lithe style
that cloaks your presence and. You gain a +2 bonus on all stealth checks.

*Darkvision :Your close attunement to shadow
allows you to see through even the deepest darkness. You gain darkvision
with a range of 60 feet

and

*Enhanced Mobility: With your long, powerful
legs and efficiently designed frame, you move faster than normal.
You gain a +5 foot increase to base land speed.

Or

Weapon Spike (Secondary Ability): You have a short blade that can
retract into your hand, leaving you armed and ready for combat at all
times. This weapon is a dagger of the appropriate size. It cannot be
disarmed, and a Search check (DC 25) is required to notice it if you
leave it sheathed. You ready it like any other weapon. This blade can
receive magical abilities just like a normal dagger and be upgraded to
masterwork status. If it is sundered, use the standard price for a dagger
of its size and features to determine the repair time and cost

whats the stats on a castorbow and what is it?sorry couldnt find it anywhere...
Edit: nvmd found it

male Human 8th level seeker/6th level gamer /4th level bad speller

sorry that's something I cooked up for this.

A casterbow looks much like a crossbow body without the bow. In place of the lunching mechanism there is a mounted scroll case.

A caster bow uses any combat scroll places inside as ammo. Range 80' must make an attack roll. this allows non caster to use scrolls in battle as well.

if you would like to take the artillery men gear package one will be assigned to you....scrolls as ammo as well

to buy your self there 350 GP, but not really legal for private use.

If you are an artificer, and make stuff for blackcap use the unit will provide the material and gp cost of making it. How ever if they do they own it. So when and if ya leave service you'll have to turn it in.

It does mean spellcaster can spit scrolls and the like out pretty much free on base however

So a 3rd level artificer can lob 3d6 fireballs 80 feet from the scroll without the UMD check?8)I assume in the interest of balance, that it doesnt do the AoE just dmg to target( since it requires a to hit roll)

male Human 8th level seeker/6th level gamer /4th level bad speller

oh it does AOE, It's just if ya hit that target gets no save. And as for balance...the enemy will have them as well

and no check that's what the casterbow does. without it then yes a UM check is needed

2. scrolls are not always cheap

Also if I could use my craft reserve to make some other scrolls to start with, spend say triple the cost from my reserve ( 1 copy for my squad 2 copies for other squads use to justify the 'free' materials.)

Wow, no xp cost to create magic items....this could get ugly,8), if I go overboard, just let me know. If I could I would like to start with 2 scrolls of shocking grasp(3d6 shock dmg to 1 target with castorbow), and 2 of weapon augmentation, lesser(1 of undead bane{+2 to hit n dmg and +2d6 dmg} and one of flaming{+1d6 fire dmg})In fact I would change out one of the fireballs for the w.a.l.of flaming.

Personality I will have to develope over time...

One feat, one rogue talent, equipment has to be done.

I took "Small Build" as 1st level feat to get the benefits of small size. Is the base speed 20 or 30ft then? If 20 then I will have to change the weapon spike to the faster movement (+5ft.)

Well speed is 20. As for background you could be less then a year old or up to 30. Your owned by Cyre so you have spent your life in on unit or another. you can flesh it out as much as you like.

Rules

Ok Initiative: I will use a flat 10 with your mods...this is to speed the game up it seems to work with my other pbp.

Death and dying:..I will be using a variant rule. Any thing that would auto kill you will instead take a limb and drop you to -8 [unless it's something really bad...like breaking a staff of power bad, having a tower fall on you, airship exploding and so on.]

Which bring use to

Cannith Artificer Limbs

Spoiler:

The first Artificer Limbs where introduced in 988 a brake though in warforge crafting.
At the time they were mostly replacement limbs for warforged troops. Adraen de Cannith a artificer working on the limb had the ideal to craft replacement limbs for flesh and blood soldiers. In 991 the first Artificer Limbs limbs crafter for non warforged came to the public market.. Billed as cheap replacements for the poor they sold well. After the war anti-warforge sentiment has lead to trouble for Artificer Limbed people. Still as a cheap and effective replacement many people use them anyhow.

Game Info

Artificer Limbs are warforged like limbs attacked to a harness. There are a few types of harnesses . Type one straps to the wearer allowing them to use the limb as it was his own. however loose straps do affect limb faction..[-2 when using limb for fine work./-4 if loose strap to all actions.]
Type two bonds to the wearer attaching itself to there flesh of the stump, doing so means the limb can never be regenerated. But allows full moment with the limb, and allows full feeling with the limb.
