Male Human (mostly) Ex-cleric and Grumpy Cat

I haven't got an initiative from Brock, so I'm rolling for him.
Brock is on 9, Raven on 14 and Clark on 10.

Juliare and Kirwen are up.

Male Half Elf ( want to make something of it !) Ranger 2

Juliare move to E3 stringing his bow with one of the silver arrow
and let fly at the creature
without success

Kirwen moves toward the door, waiting to see who might appear from it. Double move to 3L, via the grates.

Male Human (mostly) Ex-cleric and Grumpy Cat

Raven moves to D1 and casts Light to illuminate the scene. The ratman jumps over the sewer (to M3), draws its rapier and stabs Kirwen with it for 6 points of damage.
Clark draws his sword and rushes to help Kirwen but slips on the grate and falls into the sewer (at H2).

Thrakhir and Quick are up.

Still wounded from the events at the temple the day before, Kirwen collapses to the walkway, unconscious and bleeding.

M Dwarf Rogue

Thrakhir moves up to K1 (half move into K1 so as not to step on any caltrops) and throws an axe, attacking the wererat (1d20+3=15, 1d6+1=5).

Male Human (mostly) Ex-cleric and Grumpy Cat

The wererat easily dodges Thrakhir's axe.

Quick and Juliare are up.

Quick moves into a position that would let her magic affect all her allies, calling on Spark to Bless the group.

New Map Here. Bless should affect everyone, so don't forget the +1 to your attack rolls. We're gonna need it.

Male Half Elf ( want to make something of it !) Ranger 2

Kirwen is down
Also Brock didn't do anything last round ( holidays are hell on posting)

Juliare move to G3 , strings his bow and let fly .
His silver arrow thunks into the creature (for 5 hit points , forgot the point blank for damage)

Male Human (mostly) Ex-cleric and Grumpy Cat

Raven starts to cast a spell.

Suddenly a bell goes off as the door opens and a horde of normal rats rush out, covering the squares L1 to N1 in what looks like a sea of rodents. Among them are a couple of dire rats that run off in the opposite direction. The ratman charges Juliare, moving to F3, jaws snapping in the empty air.

Clark tries to collect some of his dignity, rising and advancing (wading) to K2.

Thrakhir, Brock, Quick and Juliare (in something like that order, I hope).

M Dwarf Rogue

Thrakhir attempts to jump across the fetid channel to his fallen ally. Acrobatics (jump) check (1d20+3=9).

Male Human (mostly) Ex-cleric and Grumpy Cat

After swaying dangerously for a moment, Thrakhir lands safely on the other side, next to Kirwen.

Brock, Quick and Juliare are up.

Brock moves up bravely to G2 providing him control over the regress of his allies. Fortunately, it also allows him to attack the wererat in F3 with his newly silvered greataxe.

Attack the wererat (1d20+4=20, 1d12+6=13)

oops, with the bless that would be 21!

"More rats coming in! Watch for their snappers!" Quick shouts as she trudges through the fetid water to get to Kirwen and Thrakhir. She casts a spell on the way, and her right hand glows with a flickering blue light.

"Get Kirwen over to me, I'll stitch him back together."

Most insane map yet. Please forgive the madness. I put the Dire rats at L1 and N1, but you can barely tell. Quick is going to 'hold the charge' on a CLW, to heal Kirwen for 5 points as Thrakhir drags him a few feet towards her.

Great job on the maps, Quick, really. But, I think that the ratman is in F3 and Juliare is in E3 unless I missed something.

Male Half Elf ( want to make something of it !) Ranger 2

If the wererat is still standing , Juliare will move to E3 and let fly with a silver arrow . Otherwise he will move to G1 before firing at a dire rat with a normal arrow

Attack 15 Damage 3

Male Human (mostly) Ex-cleric and Grumpy Cat

More madness to come...

Brock storms forth and cuts the ratman down with a great blow of his axe. Quick approaches the fallen Kirwen, healing magic at the ready, while Juliare crosses the bridge and fires at a dire rat. To his dismay, his arrow bounces off it.

Raven completes her spell but nothing seems to happen. Disappointed, she gingerly moves forward to G3. The dire rats run away, out of sight, while the rats dive into the canal, swarming K2, K3, L2 and L3, provoking AoOs from Clark and Thrakhir. Clark cuts a mighty swathe in the rats and the sewer runs red with blood, but that only seems to increase their frenzy, and he is overrun with rats. Clark, Thrakhir and Kirwen take 3 points of damage and Thrakhir needs a Fort 12 to act next round.

Three more ratmen step out of the door, ending up in K1, L1 and M1. These ones are unarmed.

Thrakhir, Brock, Quick and Juliare again.

Male Half Elf ( want to make something of it !) Ranger 2

The dire are were ! Take care !

M Dwarf Rogue
Black Tom wrote:

Attack of Opportunity (1d20+2=7)

Black Tom wrote:

Fortitude save (1d20+1=17)

Black Tom wrote:
Thrakhir, Brock, Quick and Juliare again.

Thrakhir then sees the ratmen standing at the doorway. He quickly attempts to determine who is the best target and hurls the axe in hand at him.

Attacking the wererat. (1d20+4=7, 1d6+1=3)

He then moves to try to give Quick access to Kirwen.

Black Tom, ideally, I would like to switch places with Kirwen for my movement, moving into his square and then using my feet to roll him towards Quick. If that is not acceptable, then Thrakhir will move deeper into the swarm to N3.

Brock moves forward to J1 inviting the wererats to the party with a wave of his hand. Brock will ready on a wererat coming within striking distance of him.

Big Brock wrote:

Since there is a wererat on K1 , he can strike

Juliare was in G3 because that's where he said he moved to. BT's next post has odd co-ordinates for the ratman (as he wouldn't be able to charge to the other side of Juliare if the placement was accurate), so I put him in front of Juliare.

Quick grabs Kirwen by his shirt, healing him for 5 points, and drags his limp body back out of the swarm.

"There's too many! Back up, or cut them down!"

New Map Here.

Oh, yeah, sorry, missed that one.

Brock swings at the wererat

Attack the wererat (1d20+5=14, 1d12+6=16)

Male Human (mostly) Ex-cleric and Grumpy Cat

The wererat falls to Brock's axe, as Quick drags Kirwen to security

Juliare is up, as is Kirwen if he is conscious.

Black Tom wrote:

That brings me right to 0 - lost a point to bleeding - so I'm staggered. However, I don't seem to be threatened at the moment, so...

Kirwen's eyes open, and he looks around quickly before climbing unsteadily to his feet. "I knew this was a bad idea," he rumbles in a voice still tight with pain, looking around for his mace. He is unthrilled to realize it is lost in the mass of rats before him.

Male Half Elf ( want to make something of it !) Ranger 2

Juliare moves to E3 and fire at the wererat in M1 without success

Male Human (mostly) Ex-cleric and Grumpy Cat

Anxious to be of assistance, Raven casts a spell, jumps into the sewer at H2 and heals Kirwen for 4 points.

Meanwhile, the wererats advance. One bites Brock for 4 points of damage, while the teeth of the second gnashes against Clark's armor. The rats follow and envelop K2, J2,I2 and J1, forcing new saves for Clark and Brock and dealing 6 points of damage.

At that point another wererat steps out of the door. This one is also armed with a rapier and wears a gold bracelet that glints in the light. With a look of disgust and a twitch of his whiskers he reaches into a pouch he's carrying, takes out a small stone and hurls at Quick. As she easily ducks, it hits the wall behind her with a deafening explosion. Raven, Quick and Kirwen need to make a Fortitude save (DC 15).

The wererats are now in K1, L1 and N1.

Clark fails his Fort save and is still overwhelmed by rats.

Thrakhir, Brock, Quick, Kirwen and Juliare are up.

Fortitude save (1d20+3=17)

Brock, tired of being overrun with crawling and squeeking rats, enters a rage. His muscles bulging and his eyes becoming red, his fury is focused on the wererat in front of him. Attack the wererat in K1(1d20+6=18, 1d12+8=16).

Brock is currently at 7 HP.

M Dwarf Rogue

Thrakhir is still unsuccessful at connecting with his throwing axe.

Attack the wererat in L1 (1d20+4=10, 1d6+1=2).

Male Human (mostly) Ex-cleric and Grumpy Cat

Brock chops down another wererat.

Quick, Kirwen and Juliare are up.

Fort save (vs deafness, I assume) (1d20+2=3)
Yes, that's a natural 1. Suck.

Kirwen shouts in pain as his ears are assaulted by the wave of sound, but the shout sounds tinny and hollow in his ears, and he realizes with shock that he can't hear anything else.

Kirwen's action, assuming Tom doesn't have more unpleasantness in store for me...

Spoiler:
Kirwen, realizing his magic will be greatly weakened by the ringing in his ears and, in fact, throughout his skull, leaps into the water, grabbing Clark, and beginning to drag him out of the swarm and toward the opposite walkway. Headed toward a spot behind Brock, if I can make it all the way this turn. Not sure how many actions that is.

Male Half Elf ( want to make something of it !) Ranger 2

Juliare tries to determines where the two dire rats are . He thinks they are the ones controlling the rat pack and figures he is the one which has the most chances of spotting them with his low light vision

Perception 20

Not sure if this is a standard action , a move action or a full round. ,

Fort save 15. Just made it, phew.

"I know you're all hurtin'. I'll attend to that in a jiffy." Quick hurls a ball of electricity to the space in front of the bracelet-wearing were-rat, and summons Spark as a wolf, hoping to distract the were rat, and buy her some time. "Keep 'em busy, Spark."

Spark snaps his jaw angrily at the wererat, but is unable to find purchase against it's thick hide.

Quick's got a 1/day Obscuring Mist that she can drop if we need to run. Just say the word. New Insane Map here. I also kinda just arbitrarily moved Kirwen and Clark, if you need me to change that, I certainly will.

Male Human (mostly) Ex-cleric and Grumpy Cat

Kirwen grabs Clark and drags him out of harm's way, while Juliare readies an action to shoot at any wererat that appears, in any shape. Raven desperately backs away and climbs the bridge at F1. The wererat with the bracelet stabs Spark in the throat for 9 points of damage, while its comrade advances on Brock and bites him for another 5 points.

The rats advance, too, covering squares F3, G3, H2 and H3, dealing 2 points to Clark and Quick and forcing another save. Clark gets another swing at the advancing rats who are by now visibly diminished, but then he succumbs again.

That means that you're up.

Brock attacks the wererat (1d20+6=14, 1d12+6=12) that closed with him.

Brock is at 2 hp.

M Dwarf Rogue

Thrakhir attempts to hit the wererat with the gold bracelet missing again.

attacks the wererat (1d20+3=11, 1d6+1=2)

Don't forget the +1 from Bless, everyone. Question: Clark is in G2, and the rats are not (according to your post's co-ordinates). As a swarm, do they not have to enter his square to do damage?

Quick recoils from the bites of the nasty creatures as infection spreads through her wounds. She takes a step out of the way, and blasts at the swarm with her lightning.

Spark has been dealt a brutal wound, but he doesn't de-materialize yet. He still wildly gnashes out at the rat-man, meeting only fur and steel.

New Map Here.

Quick and Spark wrote:

Oh yeah, that would be 15 to hit for Brock and 12 to hit for Thrakhir.

His head pounding, Kirwen nevertheless calls on the power of his blood. Looking at the nearest ratman in K1, he roars "Run!" still sounding odd to his own ears, and still the only thing he can hear, throwing all his will at the shapeshifter.

Fear, DC 14.
Spell failure, due to deafening (fail on 1 or 2) (1d10=5)

Male Human (mostly) Ex-cleric and Grumpy Cat

Sorry, that should be F3, G3, H3 and G2.

Juliare spots the wererats coming sneaking from the left on your map. You may take a shot at them. The rats disperse at Quick's lightning.

Raven casts Guidance on Kirwen. The wererat resists Kirwen's magic and bites Brock yet again for 5 points of damage and then backs off to L1. The braceleted wererat stabs Spark again for 11 points of damage, which ends him.

Your turn (this means that Juliare can act twice).

Male Half Elf ( want to make something of it !) Ranger 2

Last round :
Juliare did let fly with one of his precious silver arrow at one of the dire rats
Much better ( att 23 , damage 4 )

Can you give me the position of the two dire rats ?

Brock crumples to the ground in a heap.

M Dwarf Rogue

Having only one silvered throwing axe left, Thrakhir moves back to H3.

Male Human (mostly) Ex-cleric and Grumpy Cat
Juliare wrote:

They are off the map, but something like E(-4) and (G-4) if that's intelligible.

Kirwen splashes through the water to the opposite walkway once more, moving back to grab his mace where it lies on the floor in K1, I think. "The axeman's down, halfpint!" he shouts to Quick. He cannot hear any reply she makes.

How long am I deafened for, BT?

Male Human (mostly) Ex-cleric and Grumpy Cat
Kirwen Wyrmsheart wrote:

1 hour. Sorry.

Male Half Elf ( want to make something of it !) Ranger 2

Juliare move to G3 ( no more rats there if I understood the situation correctly )
'Clark , take my longspear ! '

He shoots the wererat already hurt by Brock with a silver arrow
Attack 26 Damage 4

Male Human (mostly) Ex-cleric and Grumpy Cat

Brock's last attack missed, so the wererat was unhurt until now.

Quick to go.

Quick hops down into the sewer to run toward Brock, chanting as she moves. She places a hand on him and heals some of his wounds. For 8hp.

"Thank ya, Spark. Ya bought us some important time. Don't give 'em an inch! Wake up, big guy!"

Swapped out Comprehend Languages. New Map Here. How is everyone doing for HP?

Male Human (mostly) Ex-cleric and Grumpy Cat

Raven casts Guidance on Clark and retreats to F3.

The dire rats advance to E3 and G1 and bite Raven for 2 points and Clark for 5. Clark keels over into the filthy water. The wererat takes advantage of Brock's prone position, moves forward (ignoring the caltrops that cannot pierce its skin) and biting him for 5 points, leaving him disabled. The wererat with the bracelet nimbly jumps over the canal and moves to K3 (provoking an AoO from Kirwen) before stabbing him viciously with its rapier for 11 points.

Thrakhir, Quick, Brock, Juliare and anyone else left standing can act.
