Hey everyone, lets post our names here so that people can track us (I know with some its easy but not with everyone)

I am Heraguv named after the character in my current campaign.

Scarab Sages

I use the same name there as here: Kessukoofah. y'know, it's a wonder no one's commented on that yet. either I'm the only one who read races of Destiny, I'm the only one who uses Gutterspeak in his campaign or else everyone is too polite. oh well.

The Exchange

Had my wife add my kids up for this tonight, we will see if it helps.

I was given races of destiny for my birthday, and I do use gutterspeak in my game.

Good to know I'm not the only one.

Nah, don't really do splat books. What does it mean?

I'm Moth on chore wars.

okay, I don't have have it here, so this may be off slightly, but IIRC, it's a bastardization of the elven word for Idiot or fool.

Oh, and I would like to suggest a quest for physical activity, like "did 30 minutes of physical activity (lifting weights, jogging, swimming, etc)". this may be an added incentive to people like me to get off the couch. (I already have all the incentive I need in caring for my heart, but what could a little more hurt?)

Scarab Sages

I go by Toes on Chore Wars...I think a physical exercise thing is a good idea, probably should be something exclusively done for the exercise as opposed to say riding my bike to the store.

The Exchange

I'm actually a cleric now. We need some chore Ideas. I will have to look at my lists and try to cull some more quests for the group.
I need me some Charisma based quests.

Liberty's Edge

I got a chore for ya....
go gitcher shine box, fakey.

You joinin' Wuffy? We could use some good chore ideas.

I be Majpo

Liberty's Edge

I'm Gene there and here.

Sovereign Court

I had a funny idea for a prize, just out of curiosity does anyone here like 4e?

I'll check it out some time. I got's the radiator to take care of, not working on it, just figuring out how to even get the f~++er into the shop.

Scarab Sages

If anyone's Interested, I created an Excercise adventure. I called it "Exploration" and put it under Wilderness for lack of anything more creative. You may want to lower the Gold count, since I put a rough estimate and i think it might be a bt to high. dunno though.

I'll check it out and see what I can do...

Ok on that note (and not dealing specifically with yours kess, I haven't seen it yet, but in general) the suggested amount of xp should be roughly equivalent to the # of minutes it takes to do the task, varied based on the ease or difficulty of the chore. I know that with all of us living different lifestyles that's a bit harder to pin down, but if the XP for an event is lowered or raised its because it needs to be a little more in line with it's difficulty level.

Speaking of which I'm noticing that most of us are taking major advantage of the seeking knowlege quest involving reading. I don't want to limit it to non-fiction because in my opinion any reading is good, but since lets face it we are all nerds, does anyone have objections to lowering the XP to say 15 since we are all going to be doing it anyways?

Ok. I set it to 30XP for 30 minutes of excercise, so it should be ok, And I have no probelm with you lowering the XP for the reading one. Like you said, and I have said previously, that one is prolly too easy to be worth so much.

Well I took a look at it, I switched it to ? location and got rid of the outside requirement just because it's unfair to anyone who spent a lot of money on a home gym or bowflex etc. to then not get credit for their excersize because they didn't go outside. I am going to add more gardening/outside chores to encourage us nerds to get out of the house (like my take someone you love out one). I just went running during my lunch break which I haven't done in about a month thanks to you, so lets keep this going strong guys.

EDIT: oh yeah and I updated a few more of you to adventurer status so feel free to add some adventures

I am Heraguv named after the character in my current campaign.

I am David. My kids are Zachery, Cameron, and T.J.

Captain Snort reporting for duty!

Sovereign Court

Welcome Snort, here are your mandatory bucket and mop welcome to the chore wars, try not to get yourself killed out there.

It will be a tough battle, but we shall conquer!!!

FTW!

Sovereign Court

Okay guys everyone is an adventurer which means you can make your own adventures, remember they have to be stuff everyone can do, so make sure you are vague i.e. loved ones instead of children, and assisted in organizing something for them, instead of got them dressed.

Thanks.

Sovereign Court

So anyone have any ideas, Lillith was that a volunteer to draw the winner a custom character or just a suggestion, cause I know I can't draw worth a s$@!.

I think I know what your saying... Custom character Chore Wars drawing contest? Make it a quest (only one person can claim). We can vote on the best drawing?

I think it would be cool to start a weekly or monthly quest, that can be voted on, and give the winner the quest, maybe like 100 XP?

Dark Archive

Wow, I made third level already. I'm a Druid.

Congrats!

Actually that would be a cool idea, for a quest. I might get that going soon. But I was actually talking about a reward for something arbitrary like, the first person to hit 10th level, at this point looks like fakey has that solid. Or the first person to collect ten pieces of fertilizer gets a 4ed MM (just a joke no edition wars rage please), or the first person who gets the universal tool, we all chip in and get him one of those 100 piece tool sets. That's the kind of thing I was talking about. I had ideas that you could trade in certain types of treasure to get packs of gamemastery cards etc, things of that nature, random rewards for random events, I do like your drawing contest idea where the winner gets to claim the quest. We could have other contests like that too.

Sovereign Court

I think that if I can go to paizocon this year I'll try to organize a game where people play their characters, mine would be a sorcerer 1/druid 3/paladin 1 right now

Sovereign Court

What's funny is heraguv in my campaign is a paladin so it's quite funny that I wound up a paladin here.

Liberty's Edge

Just signed in as Malachi. I ended up as a paladin. Interesting.

Has no one included actually doing the dishes?

EDIT: Duh! I finally found it.

Scarab Sages

Dishes? Who needs dishes?

Just fill a trough and lower them in by their ankles!

Heh. Since I'm not strong enough to do it myself I'd have to hire someone for that.

Dishes are cheaper.

I was thinking silly things like if someone gets the universal tool (artifact) which only has a 1% chance, then we chip in together and get that guy one of those 100 piece tool sets that are like 30-50 bucks. or once a year whoever can complete x quest gets a pathfinder product like a pack of gamemastery cards bought for them etc. you know just throwing ideas out there that are feasable for limited budgets that'll make it more fun.
That'd be suitably awesome, I'd be up to chipping in a few bucks to do something like that. Wicked idea!

I agree.

Sovereign Court

How can we organize it so that people chip in is the only thing I'm wondering. I can moniter it if it's online, I don't know if it can be done through pay-pal or something.

It can be done through paypal but someone would have to be take responsibility for the account and the money accrued. That would mean that whoever set it up would have to be in charge, I guess, because I can't see anyone letting just anyone have access to their checking accounts.

If you are a paladin right now it might change. it depends on what chores (and what abilities they give) you do. I have been a monk, barbarian, and a sorcerer...

Yeah, I think I'm a hunter now. It's great fun. I made a group for my niece and my nephew. They fall all over themselves to get chores done now. My sister loves it!

Funny

Sovereign Court

My house is certainly cleaner, although it can still be a mess, every time I start to get overwhelmed by how much needs to get done, I can at least be happy that I'll rack up enough points to get a level or two behind Fake Healer.

You seem to be doing fine. I cleaned my whole house yesterday and it hasn't had much time to get dirty again yet so I won't be getting many points for a bit. Plus, I'm home sick today and don't feel much like doing anything anyway.

Liberty's Edge

LKL, I have a few logistical ideas for the points-redeeming feature. Email me at thekinnakeeter (at) yahoo.com and I'll send them for discussion. If you think they're okay we can share them with the group.

I feel wierd... how can I be a Level 12 already? This goes much quicker..

BTW, I'd like to point out that I constantly read the name of this thread as spoonerism and think "there's a thread about WHAT?"
