I'm definitely interested in the belt of physical might for Muchorak (+2) equilivant.
The Str/Con belt would cost 5000 gp and not be a problem. Marak doesn't have Cat's Grace, so a belt that added to Dex/something else would be at a +5 DC to craft (unless someone else can cast the spell, perhaps Naria, off of a scroll, which would be the easiest option).
Marak has a +7 Spellcraft (and the DC for the Belt of Str/Con would be 17, so he could take 10 on that one). The DC would be 22 for a Belt with Dex in place of Str or Con, and there'd be a chance of losing money on the deal...
Though i'm curious, and really would like, when can you craft:
Handy Haversack
DC 19 for the Haversack (CL 9 +5, another +5 for not knowing secret chest), so 40% chance of getting it on the first try. If we wait a level, I can put some points into Spellcraft and bump that up to Take 10-able.
Ring of Sustenance
No go on that, unless I take Forge Ring at 7th.

It was crazy plan and the timescales dont work in with each other..however you may still meet the Jade Regent characters..only 4-5 years younger next time you are in Sandpoint..Romon is bound to meet one of them..she's the daughter of Madame Teserani of the Pixies Kitten. Another is a pupil of Ilsoari so Inikai might encounter her and so on

He can however make spoon of tasteless gruel.

2,051 gold added to Muchorak and Ali
Ali has just over 6k now, so we need to figure out something to spend that on, something that will benefit her. :D
Gracias Azoun.
Set and all, did you catch Ali's grocery list in my last post on the previous page ?

The +2 cloak should be easy enough. An item that adds both Cha and Con wouldn't be an option, but a headband of Cha +2 and belt of Con +2 individually should be fine.
The pearls, IIRC (am many states away from books, atm) have a fixed CL regardless of the level of the pearl, so I'm not sure if that's an option presently.

Very nice! It's just what Esteriande wanted, beyond a doubt. The wand was a nice touch, as her current one is down to five charges. It should allow Marak to preserve his channellings for when they are really needed, and Esteriande's lay on hands can be used to boost her effective hit points.

I read Ali's post, and I laughed until it hurt. Khaladon, you are a GENIUS! I can't wait for Ali to try and explain that one to Esteriande - assuming that she does so before Est follows her own heart elsewhere. Now that could cause some problems ...

: ) Thanks Dabbs, glad you enjoyed it. Playing Ali really is a lot of fun and honesty, she just writes herself.
But I actually wanted to thank You for this last bit of RP. I totally hadn't expected things to go the way they did but it was really great to be able to RP some of Ali's past and background like that. These kinds of posts are why I play and love this game so much. Muchos gracias amigo!

You are welcome, Khal! I am trying to present Esteriande as a complex character (more of her back story has been writing itself in my head, lately), not the stereotypical lawful stupid smite-is-right paladin. The code of Shelyn helps, but I had some notes prepared anyway.
Esteriande sees Ali as very much an innocent, and is starting to understand the little druid. The whole mating thing played directly to Esteriande's strengths as a paladin of Shellyn, of course, but she hasn't blown on about the role of love as she can see Ali is overwhelmed at the moment. All in all, it's a very interesting party ...

I love when that happens, and the character starts writing themself.
Marak's story-in-my-head took an abrupt turn when he went from enthusiastic young researcher into all things Thassilonian, to seeing the torture victims / twisted monstrosities left behind by their practices. Now he's all disillusioned or whatever, and feels more like a Pharasman, focused on giving respect and closure to the victims of the evils they face.

Starts figuring out Esteriande's Romance Score
I've always preferred to RP that kind of thing myself - although not live action, obviously.
Yes, I know what you mean Set! I have some ideas with Esteriande that will prove ... interesting as they are unveiled, I hope.

Disguise self doesn't change voice. You should probably know it's him. He's not hiding from you, just playing. He's got all kinds of lovely new toys.
Speaking of which, Wellard -- just double checking your interpretation of feather fall. Does the slow falling kick in right away? What about if Romon is intentionally jumping down? Sometimes he might be in a hurry and if I read the ring of jumping right there's a reasonable chance he could jump down (fall) 20' without serious damage.

OK time for my feelings on Scent..
It is Primarily a perception skill which under RAW would suggest that anything with scent is not prevented from knowing a persons location as long as they are within 30 feet..However I feel that it should not be a super sense.otherwise you could prevent invisibility ever being effective just by giving every group of bad guys a small terrier.
Now in a city and especially a port city the scent of a person will be mingled woith lots of other scents, other people, animals, goods on trade stands, sewage, refuse and all the other myriad things that a city can offer to an inquisitive nose.In addition although it doesn't actually say so in the RAW you have to apply some common sense rules to perception checks..you still can't see through a wall and you certainly couldnt expect scent to work if any thickness of unbroken material was between you and the target.
So I'm sorry if I give the impression that it will never work..Ali is just using it in the wrong places.Places where RAW clashes with my liking for internal consistency.
So I'll ask that Ali makes the relevant perception checks in future with the +8 to scenting things from having the ability and they will be subjected to the normal perception penalties
@Romon..I would say that the rings magic would be able to sense a difference between "I'm jumping" and "ARRRRGGHHH I'm falling"

What is the average level of technology for Magnimar and its environs? I avoid reading the Golarion wiki because it has spoilers that I want to avoid. It seems that Varisia is more technologically advanced than a Greyhawk campaign, for instance. I only ask so that I can appreciate the mood, not that it really matters for game purposes. Certainly, I can just dismiss anachronisms by saying it is just a game.
By the way, Wellard, thanks again for taking over as DM for the game. I just noticed that it has been going on for almost three years and I have been having a great time. Thanks also to my fellow players for being such a great group.

DM Wellard |

The general tech level of Golarion as a whole is Renaissance.(say about 1500)
Varisia is a bit behind the times being on the fringes of some really low tech areas like the lands of the Linnorm Kings and Iressen so its perhaps 50 years behind in rural areas for the most part.. Magnimar is pretty far advanced as is Korvosa having both been Chelaxian Colonies(hence the hell knights in both places. Riddleport is not as industrialised as either of those cities. The Sandpoint glassworks is rather advanced for a business outside the main cities
There is a good deal of rivalry between Korvosa and Magnimar..and a number of border clashes have occured over the last few years. Sooner or later one or the other is going to make a move to secure hegemony over the region.
The current Plague in Korvosa might be Magnimars chance to gain back some of the ground it has lost in the last decade or so. But they had best be quick because a band of gallant heros is bound to stop it sooner or later..right Tim?

On the matter of scent evil, I think it must work differently to ordinary scent. If it didn't work differently Ali would be overwhelmed, she would smell evil everywhere - after all there are thieves, murderer, disciples of Asmodeus, Hellknights and the like wandering the streets of Magnimar.
I am guessing therefore that 'evil' is like a mood: you can smell it on a 'very fresh' smell, if the person is actually there and with a kind of 'line of effect' (ie they are downwind or close enough to be in 'sight'). It would take a very evil person to leave an 'evil' scent trail, if it could be done at all.
