Sadly, I believe your team had us beat after the first round.

Hey, we almost broke double digits... so they didn't have us beat until the SECOND round! :D

The Mighty Muttonchops did well thanks (21 points for second place [or fourth, depending on how you count it), almost exclusively, to Rob and the other Paizo contributor sitting at our table (sadly I can't recall his name).

I got the easiest one (horses) and another from RotL (Scarnetti, though I remembered it at first as "Scarlinetti"). Can't remember how many others came from non-Paizo people but I remember that Mr. Muttonchops himself got a couple too including "Red Revolution", though we foolishly dismissed that as too obvious and went with "Bloody Revolution" instead. Crap, I thought it was "Crimson Revolution" or something...

I guess it's time to buy the campaign guide. :)

I'm recreating the quiz for anyone who wasn't there to give it a try, but can't remember the exact wording on a few questions, and two of them I can't remember at all. Anyone who remembers or wrote them down, drop by the chat room and we can put our heads together.

I have to give Joshua Frost due credit, kudos and props for being an awesome emcee for the trivia contest. We were laughing all through the event despite getting our clocks cleaned.

Fray, on a personal note, I want to thank you for taking on the role of the opening act at our table. I laughed so hard at your CoCT stories that it hurt. No matter what my players get up to from here on out, at least they haven't set any peasants on fire yet.
I'd like to second that--you kept us all chatting when we should have been sitting with perfect Gamer Aloofness. Just made the whole night that much more fun.

Thanks gang. :blushes:

Try the veal and tip your waitress.

I'll be posting about Team Home Invasion Local 42's progress as they move through CotCT.

Josh, you posted those right as I was wracking my brain for the 25th question (which ended up being Persona #5). It's hard to remember them all from memory.

The two tie-breaker questions were:

1. Name as many continents on Golarion as you can.
2. Name as many planets in Golarion's system as possible.

Don't forget the bonus question for Persona!

Which two names are the inspiration for the answer to question #5?

Scarab Sages Contributor, RPG Superstar 2008 Top 4, Legendary Games

For this question:

5. One of the greatest conflicts currently shaping Golarion is between the crusading knights of Mendev and the howling demons of the Worldwound. The capital of Mendev is Nerosyan—-spell Nerosyan.

You might have to rephrase slightly to something like:

5. One of the greatest conflicts currently shaping Golarion is between the crusading knights of Mendev and the howling demons of the Worldwound. The capital of Mendev is pronounced "nuh ROE see un" - how is it spelled?

Yknow, just so the answer isn't in the question!

Spoiler:
I'd have been tragically embarrassed if I had missed that one, since I wrote the frickin Mendev (and Worldwound) section in the PCCS!

You might want to remove the end of the question from your post, in case the other one gets edited. (fully agree btw)

Trivia was a blast. Especially thanks to the MC work and humorous answers from many different teams.

What Paizo didn’t tell us was that the 25 questions were actually the Test of the Starstone. Three teams were one question away from ascending to godhood. Maybe next year.

P.S. Go Best-Hunters!

Thanks for being such a good sport Sean. I was worried we wouldn't be able to come up with enough variants of the wave to get through every round. Should have known you'd be willing to make a fool of yourself by doing one alone to get the team through to the finals.

I have to point out, us Sanctimonious Trout would have fared a little bit better had our main answer machine (Ashton "N'Wah" Sperry) not stepped out for a smoke RIGHT WHEN THE GAME STARTED!

I'll never forgive him for that. Never ever.

Man, I thought you could handle it. I mean, you missed the Even-Tongued Conquest? Really? :P

Can't a man who hates trivia games (even when he's good at 'em) get a break? I suppose you guys'd never have gotten Nex's demiplane without me, though. I'll give you that. :D

A'ight. Here's how we do it next year: I'll sit out and chain-smoke, and you'll keep your phone open and on and whisper questions to me, and I'll answer them. Questions with answers like Daante. And Handall.

Oh, and Sean: I'll be hopping aboard your team's barge next year, and I'll be sure to get good and close to you, so's you gotta put up with me smelling like a burned out whiskey distillery. All. Day. Long.

Enjoy! :D

You are welcome in the Union only if you believe. And can row. We will devise a test to determine both by next year.

I believe in a thing called love. And I believe I can fly. And I believe they put a man on the moon. And there was a bee bothering me earlier, so I said "bee, leave!" a lot, which is phonetically similar to "believe".

And I can row- heck, I spent six years as lead rower on a slave galley. When I led the slave mutiny, the captain gave me a "most valuable rower" award before I slew him with a thirty-foot-long oar. I'm gonna miss that guy.

Indeed. Zuxius carried a Cam most of the time...I hope he shares his videos ;)

I didn't realize he recorded the trivia contest. Zuxius: You going to upload your stuff to You Tube or something? Also, how much of our Star Wars game did you record? If you got me doing the Toydarian impression I hope you'll delete it right away. :)

That was awesome. I'd had no idea that Eando Binder was a pseudonym for brothers Earl Andrew and Otto. Been reading Binder since I was a wee tot. Who knew?

I doubt he did, actually, as recording devices were prohibited at the banquet IIRC.

Paizo'll second guess putting that restriction up again next year, won't they?

I'm pretty sure I saw some recording devices at the banquet. Not sure if they were still out during the trivia, however.

Heck, even half that would have been an improvement for team 123ACD. We were kinda bummed we didn't lock down last place. :)

True that, but I'm good at holding onto little setting specific things, or maybe I just got lucky. A pity I can't remember things pertinent to my degree half as well. :p
