Gashelle isn't all too pleased with the last answer. Oracles are supposed to be cryptic, but she's never heard of one to insist: 'that's for me to know and you to find out.' Stupid oracles.

Actually, I was thinking we could do some more exploring today, but the amount of time it would take to disarm the traps in our path probably prohibit that. Can we assume those traps we found in the passageway are disarmed by the next day?


I was rereading the scenario and it would appear that the hidden lever in the wall is an override..so the traps are disarmed. However I will point out that Aude is virtually crippled (her DEX is currently 4) and she won't be able to cure herself until she has prayed for more lesser Restorations

Audes spells remove the remaining stiffness in Gashelle's joints and go a long way towards relieving her own pains..though she still feels clumsy still down 2 DEX


I'm assuming you wish to continue your counter clockwise route round the complex..

This hall is much like the others you have seen, only shorter in length. The large stone basreliefs show the turtle-men toiling in workshops to craft various wonders. Weapons, armor, clockwork men, and other, less-recognizable tools are shown in various stages of creation

At the far end is a door

This iron door is carved to show an immense,strangely-angled greatsword surrounded by eight smaller greatswords. Around the border of the door, several of the turtle-men are kneeling.

The room has not changed..the walls of crystal still diffuse what light comes from the far ends of the branches.

Casting invisibility on the crystalline wall reveals that the object is a Fist sized AquaMarine gem

The Light stone itself is held by two small crystal figures

Please note that casting invisibility does not allow the light to pass through the wall properly it is still diffused.

"I think we're doing this the wrong way," Eltariel remarks. "We keep thinking in terms of NOT breaking the crystal sheets but using the light to illuminate them, but what if that's back to front? What if the crystal sheets are there to prevent illumination? That would mean to complete this we would have to shatter them."

Eltariel examines the Western alcove again..something about the crystal walls strike her asnot being quite right..they dont fit with the general theme off the room.

Then her sharp eyes pick up the slightest quiver from one off the small figures holding the light gem.She suddenly realises they are crystal mephits a creature off the elemental planes and that the walls must be off their creation.

"These figurines are alive!" Eltariel says quietly to Gashelle, "they are crystal mephits I believe - the crystal sheets are their creation, not part of the room's design. I thought there was something odd about them."

She grasps her spell book.

"I knew I'd need this one," she mutters, flicking through the pages. Preparing shatter.

Gashelle laughs and a lop-sided grin comes over her expression. Drawing her glaive, she asks, "Which one needs breaking first?"

Yeah, I'm sure. Gashelle isn't sure if there's only one of the little buggers, or if all three arms of the room are going to erupt in combat, so she's ready to catch an attack from the south, or move off to the west to help anyone who needs it.

The wall shattering into tiny pieces is the first the Mephits know off you planned attack.The room floods with blue light as the prism magnifies the beam from the gem
