Good locations for a campaign about hunting monsters and demons and stuff

I'm thinking of starting a simple campaign where I look for a random monster for players to fight and base stories and adventures off of that, something based on the "Supernatural" TV series, with "monsters of the week" as the villains of each session.

I was thinking starting maybe in Sandpoint because Varisia is a pretty wild place with lots of monsters to bother people and I'm familiar from playing runelords, but are there better places?
