Products at Gen Con UK

Lost Omens Campaign Setting General Discussion

Sovereign Court

Two questions.

What Paizo products will be available to buy at GenCon UK, if any? I can understand if it's more difficult to get a lot over here, compared to Origins and GenCon.

In a related note, I think I heard something about people picking up products they've subscribed to at GenCon. Is this going to happen at all, and if it is, might it also happen at GenCon UK?

I can't answer the first part—probably only Josh can (and he probably doesn't know yet).

But for the second part, we're expecting to get all of the August subscription products in the first days of August, so they'll have shipped long before Gen Con (hopefully).

The miniatures would sell rather well I do think, not being available over here in the UK...

Cheers! :D

Also Joshua verified that the prices will be in pounds and similar to the prices you would see in game shops in the UK...

Which for me most likely means it is still cheaper to get them online since I pay in $ and the shipping price is based on shipping in the US not overseas.

Thanks for the heads-up. I guess I'll work out what would be cheaper for me.

Hopefully, the Pathfinder Beta will be available at the event too.

Cheers! :D

Well if you are a UK citizen, most likely the Convention will be cheaper since you will not be paying shipping.

Yeah... I wanted to get the Beta at the convention to.. and maybe some maps.

Oh, one other question about products.

Is it at all likely that there will be the Beta of the Pathfinder RPG available or would it be too soon?

Cheers! :D

It's being unveiled at GenConIndy, which is ahead of GenConUK - so I'd assume so.

The beta is supposed to be out by mid august according to the blog. So you can definitely get your hands on the PDF before the Con. As for them actually having any of the hard copies at the con...well I would like to know the answer to that as well.

Now about the shipping costs...Dragnmoon has it right...i'm also US stationed over here and being a Pathfinder Subscriber and paying online makes EVERYTHING I get from Paizo cheaper including the shipping cost! But of course it's going to an APO address which for shipping counts as a stateside address.

Dude... you ever go down to a RPG store..and see how much they charge for RPGs?..

First time I did.. I was DUDE!!!! they Want what for that?!!!!

Only thing I ever buy over here are hard to find Out of print books or the occasional translated books for nostalgia reasons. *My favorite is the D&D 3.0 book in Turkish and My French Paris by night World of darkness book that was only made in Europe*

If you are in the UK... it has got to be be worse over there..

Isn't this OT, belonging in the well-worn 'Why the hell should I buy from my LGS' threads?

About to start a 3.5(ish) Ravenloft campaign soon I'm keen to see the Pathfinder Beta spread out across the world as quickly as possible.

Cheers

It is ugly, but at the same time, I live in Ely, so the closest for me is Cambrigde and the hobby shops i've found there are HUGE into Warhammer and not much else. Found a comic shop, got D&D but no Pathfinder or Gamemastery stuff. So I have to order my stuff online.

Though i've been meaning to check out a FLGS in Bedford I heard was really good. But all the same I can wait for the Con. And if I can get the Beta there!!!!

Hey Paizo guys can we pre-order a Beta Hard Copy for pick up at Gen Con UK?????? Pretty please????

grr, stupid post monster. Short version this time...

From what I remember from when I got my subscription, due to the 30% discount the AP subscription is slightly cheaper than Amazon UK (by about a pound a book including shipping), but with the shipping on top all none-AP subscriptions are marginally more expensive than Amazon with their 15% discount. The big advantage with subs is a) the free pdfs (very handy) and b) getting the book waaaaay before they turn up in UK stores :). Though thus far everything I've bought from Paizo has turned up in the minimum possible shipping time, so I may just be lucky.

Liberty's Edge

I dont even know where my local flgs is anymore. I live in Weymouth on the South Coast. I tend to have to get all my books online

id love to know what ill be able to pick up at gen con uk and what ill have to order before hand

Liberty's Edge

thanks for that gonna seriously consider it i think for the APs and others

My experience is that with the dollar so low (or the pound so high, whichever way you look at it) it is cheaper or the same to pay Paizo+shipping-subscriberdiscount as it is to buy in my not-very-local FLGS.

Plus I get free pdfs with my subscription.

Josh is setting the product list now, but we expect to have all of the stuff that you'd be likely to expect us to have. And no, you can't preorder for convention pickup—our store just doesn't work that way. Sorry!
