Yawn? Really? If you don't care about 4e, why are you reading this post or this forum? Stop wasting your time on 4e and go do something besides troll.

Hmmm. If this is true I wonder what illegal downloads will do to sales?
I foresee long nights ahead for the Hasbro lawyers trying to get websites hosting this material shut down.
Unless this is a deliberate leak by Hasbro themselves as a publicity stunt? (Sorry; cynicism inspired by a decade of carefully orchestrated 'leaks' by UK politicians during the Blair era crept in there. Hasbro may not operate at all along those lines.)

selectable text would have been better.
I'm also kind of on the side of the coin of purposeful leak. Those Workpdf's must have been arround at least as long as the books have been printed if not a while longer which means either wizzzies dropped the ball or these are actually scans of early copies. Either way, I'm not sure its going to affect the sales a whole lot, I know I'm not gonna be canceling my preorder...

The text is selectable. :P

They're dated 10/03/08. That's about the time the books went to print, so they're very close to being as is.
I don't think it'll effect sales.

Does anyone know what this does to Wizards of the Coasts' copyright/intellectual property/licensing rights if they do nto try to challenge these copies or shut them down?
If Wizards of the Coast themselves were responsible for leaking this, did they just accidentally make everything in the PDFs open gaming material?
Where's Sebastian when you need a lawyer?

It does the exact same thing all the illegal pdfs of 3e have done to the designation of closed content vs. open content: absolutely NOTHING.

Well your google skills are not the only one's who suck. I can't find them either. Guess I'll just have to wait until my books get her too. Really would have liked to see the PDFs though to start to get a handle on the new system before showing it to my players. If the link could be posted or sent in a private email it would be great. Otherwise, ah well no harm in trying.

I agree. No shock there. There's at least one post over at ENworld discussing when -- not if -- illegally scanned copies would go online.
Anyhoo, got my hardcopies from my FLGS on order. More importantly, played nine sessions of the game over the Memorial Day weekend at GameX. Quite eye-opening to see the rules in play as opposed to just reading them. (The WotC reps were nice.) Will post reviews on the experience, as well as various Paizo products (Classic Monsters, Gazetteer, and PRPG AR3), shortly.

This may shock you, but on the Internet(tm) you can find illegal PDF copies of just about any D&D book you can name. I hope that didn't blow your mind. :)

I know everyone's excited about checking out the new rules, but I'd really appreciate it if you kept the "Here's how to go download the PDFs" posts off our messageboards. Thanks.
You might want to remove Hogarth's spoiler, then.
Pointing out where to go to download copies of intellectual property on the message board of a company that lives and dies by its IP is shockingly indecent.

There's lots of indecency about this thread :)
That said, my search skills seem to be as poor as anyone's. NOT that I'm interested in looking at the 4e rules. I guess I'll have to spend money like everyone else :P

Its okay. I feel the same way. I got overly excited about seeing the new rules and that affected my judgement. I deleted the posts where I pushed further. In the end, the right thing to do is to wait for my pre-ordered copies to arrive and that is what I will do.

Especially on the boards of a company that does such a good job of making its products available to its customers in pdf LEGALLY. (Essentially, the Steam model of content management - your rights are tied to your account, and you can re-download at any time, to anywhere, with reasonable controls in place to prevent you from just spreading it all over the place.)

While my heart goes out to the people that can't find it, but telling people where to find it is bad for any website/forum and I don't want to put Paizo in a tight spot.
That's said..
Pop'N'Fresh, you are truly insidious. :)

I have the 4E books (not saying how), and I am reading through them. So far, it still sucks. No multiclassing, alignment system destroyed, everything from previous editions obliterated or changed to something completely unrecognizable (two metallic dragons dropped and two new ones anyone? or how about no iron golems? succubi and erinyes are the same!?).
You multiclass through feats. You take the feat you want to become the other class. Then you take feats to swap powers of the class you are with the class you're multiclassed with.
I'd bet Iron Golems will be in the MM2.
Succubus and Erinyes.. old news. As is the change to demons and devils.
