Yeah...Jackie Chan AND Jet Li. That's sweet.

I'm excited to, so are these

happy people.

It seems like the next few months are going to be a rockin movie time.

This movie looks like it will hammer the final nail into the coffin of the big budget beautiful wuxia scene... Completely cheese on toast. If they could have Jackie play it serious and remove the american kid it would instantly perk up.

Shame Jackie and Jet are past it now too. They should have had something like this happen when they were at the top of their league -you know, about ten to fifteen years ago...

IMO Jackie Chan has never topped his old movies like Dragons Forever and Lucky Stars etc -those films fight scenes still hold up today.

Jackie Chan is almost a reason to avoid a movie now: Around the World, The Tuxedo, Rush Hour etc -all of which are awful and have pathetic fights that are either toned down HK action or rip-offs of his previous stuff simply rehashed.
The only halfway decent film (for fights) Jackie has made in the west is/was The Protector.

These days you can go on youtube and watch freerunner kids pull tricks that take your breath away or put on faux martial arts demos that blow the socks off this hollywood crap.

The only movie martial artist that I can recall being exciting recently is Tony Jaa! His stunts and abilities are actually impressive.

What I'd like to see is Jackie, Yuen Biao and Sammo Hung reunited in a serious and fully HK-made action movie again -maybe even throw in Jet Lee and a host of other MA stars kind of like Shanghai Express did in the eighties.

ARE there any good martial arts movies anymore?!

There's some good Samurai stuff every once in a while.

Taboo was awesome; it's kinda Samurai Crying Game.

Twilight Samurai was pretty sweet.

None of it is really Wuxai/unbelievable stunt stuff, but I like samurai stuff the best of all.

Samurai Fiction was corny but it had it's moments...

Twilight Samurai was freaking amazing. Not only were the fight scenes well done, the scenery and cinematography were beautiful.

Wasnt the Protector w/Tony Jaa? I totally agree that dude is awesome! There was a Jackie impersonator in one of his movies...Ong-Bak was friggin amazing!

That production team did another called "Born to Fight" that was pretty cool. Crazy dude rode a motorcycle full on into a parked truck. WHAT?!!?!?!

It seems like I just saw a trailer for another by that group that has a man jumping and running thru a burning barrel and flaming benches that were catapulted at him, but Im blanking on the name of it.

**EDIT** Its Dynamite Warrior (trailer link)

Wheels on Meals, Drunken Master I, the Armour of God and the Police Story movies were cool.

I liked Oldboy and it had a long fight scene in a hallway.

Watched this movie the other day and you know what?! I liked it! It wasn't great (fight wise) but it was a fun popcorn movie with a light hearted story and some jazzy effects (and I shouldn't be such a moaner like I was earlier).

I bet that the kiddies would like it a lot too. Maybe the summer sun and light nights have brightened me up?

There was an eighties MA flick with Jackie Chan called 'The Protector' maybe it was called something different in the states? It was Jackie first attempt to break America.

:)

I recently heard they are going to make a Streetfighter 2 live action movie (a re-boot -nothing to do with the Van Damaged effort). :)
