They're freaking crazy!

And glad the whole Queen and Sabina thing go cleared up. :)

I noticed one mistake in their Statblocks though... they have the Precise Shot feat, but not it's pre-req Point Blank Shot. I think its a mistake and should be Point Blank Shot.

So far I'm LOVING Seven Days to the Grave!!!

(Oh and I see someone else noticed this already in the 7DttG a DM's ref thread).

Yeah... that's an error. Shoulda been Point Blank Shot. Quick Draw's not a bad choice either for them.

I'm also quite impressed that Korvosa sports so many Female warriors. Commander Kroft, Sabine, the Gray Maidens... a veritable Amazonian breeding ground!

Yeah, it almost seems intentional....I also noticed that besides the queen herself, all of the badguys are just that bad-GUYS! Of course, I haven't read 7DTTG yet? Please don't take this as a dislike. Actually, it is a nice breath of fresh air to see so many female characters in major NPC roles in this AP.

Now if we can just have some more outstanding Female Artwork.....

I love the Cleric toward the end of the adventure, forget her name, but yeah. Eeeevil. Glad she didn't take the gluttony thing to the extreme. :)

Over the next week my players are deciding what kinds of characters they're going to play. Maybe I should suggest that they all play attractive young women, then recruit (and disfigure) them.

Hmm...

It's certainly an interesting hook, even if you only have 1 female character in the group.

Given that it's a near certainty that the PCs will have to defeat several Gray Maidens in Seven Days, what kind of mutilations should they find when they check under the helms post-combat? Is it varied, or a common set?

I would say varied disfigurations on the Grey Maidens; the Queen basically brands them out of jealousy, so she would likely choose the woman's most attractive facial feature and have it destroyed.

Yeah. It'd be a different thing for every woman. In some cases, just a badly healed scar. BUT: The more beautiful the woman was, the more extreme her mutiliation is. The MOST beautiful Gray Maidens might actually be missing a nose or an ear or an eye.

Hmm. It occurs to me that a savvy group of PCs might, in conjunction with Hero Of The City status, be able to use this to chop Her Majesty's recruitment drive off at the knees and drastically shift public opinion. If, everywhere the Maidens went, angry crowds were chanting "Take off the masks!" or some such... well, I suppose the Queen would just start paying for illusion magic, but it'd be fun while it lasted.

Dark Archive

Might not work as well as all that; it's not so much recruitment as conscription. My impression is that the queen uses some serious mojo on the heads of these ladies. It might not even be magical mind-rape, just good-old-fashioned pitiless conditioning.

But yeah, it would be fun for a while.
