Yeah... Me, being me, after all, immediately thought of Ian MacKaye and Henry Rollins. I need to get out more...

My plan for the game here is to drop a few hooks get us back to face down with Book, and then "close the book" for a few weeks.
Frankly, I'd like to give anyone who's just not riffing with the game a chance to back out at an intermission. With only Rad and Shiny posting close to regularly now it's really hard for me to follow and I'm the frickin' DM....
Not blaming anyone. We all know s%~& just fell flat and stayed there ever since Tobus left, GG had an ear infection, Shiny went soul searching, and Ian changed campuses all roughly during the same period of time.
Fakey jumped in but it was so slow I don't think he had a chance for it to take with him.
So anyway, that's what I'm thinking. What about you guys?

Kruelaid |

I hope Tobus is keeping well.
For the new guys (and the old guys too I guess):
Ryor originally belonged to Tobus Neth, who disappeared from the boards some time ago. His disappearance and some hard times for a couple of other players caused a mass absence that had me grasping for ways to keep going without running half the PCs.
While I was chewing on that, and planning out the rest of the lost temple delve I watched Prince of Darkness which saw me putting a "prison" for a demon in a secret chamber of the temple. When Pulsifer shattered the prison it came to me that it was a great chance to run Neth's character any way I wanted - by letting the demon take him, so at that moment I chose to make it a possessor type demon. They found him in the husk of the last body he occupied, killed it, and the game was afoot. Since then he seems to have taken a grudge to them... or perhaps they just have something he wants.
FYI: I've got some mechanics for possession that really favors the PCs (although he did take Jon for a bit), but for NPCs it is mostly done by DM fiat. Also there are some mechanics down for tracking and trapping him, but the PCs have yet to discover them.

Okay, I've started laying the tracks to deal you in.
They are bid to visit an old hermit in the Kho mountains, an old Osirian desert elf of your acquaintance, and former holy man of Aroden, and now an oracle.
He is known as Ka (Osirian for 'soul').

Cool. I'll have to get off my fat arse and write his background now...

The Herald of Death |

Kruel:
Thelonius is done.
I do however have two questions for you.
1)
Given Thelonius' History, I was wondering if I could give up his Racial Hatred of Reptilian and Goblin Subtype creatures and instead replace it with the Gnoll Killer Trait from page 10 of the Legacy of Fire Players Guide? In case you don't have it I will paste the details here for you.
I have Boldly Italicised the pertinent portions of the Trait that would apply to Thelonius.
Gnoll Killer: You grew up in rural Katapesh, in a region where gnoll activity was a fact of life. You killed your first gnoll at a young age when a group of gnoll slavers attacked your village, home, or caravan, and your hatred of gnolls has only grown since then. Something in your past fueled your hatred of gnolls even further—
perhaps your family was slaughtered by gnolls, or maybe
you even served a few harrowing weeks as a prisoner of a gnoll tribe before a miraculous escape. When you heard that Garavel was looking for brave men and women to aid in retaking the village of Kelmarane from a tribe of gnolls in the service of the notorious Carrion King, you knew you had to be part of the group, and signed up immediately. You gain a +1 trait bonus on attack rolls and weapon damage rolls made against gnolls. If you are a barbarian and you’re fighting gnolls, your rage lasts 1 round longer than normal. If you’re a ranger and you select humanoid (gnoll) as a favored enemy, your trait bonus on attack rolls and weapon damage rolls against gnolls increases to +2. If you’re a spellcaster, you gain a +1 trait bonus to spell save DCs for damaging spells against gnolls.
This may or may not have a bearing upon your game plans (if you plan on having a lot of Gnolls in the future for instance), so feel free to say no, I won't mind in the slightest.
2)
What is your view on Characters paying less for items during Character Creation that they could have crafted themselves?
I say this because Thelonius has both Craft (Armoursmith) and Craft (Weaponsmith). Would you require me to make crafting rolls for them, or just say that he has had enough time to have made them for himself, if of course you allow me to use that rule?
I will hold off spending the remainder of his cash until I hear back from you as it may influence further purchases.

Kruelaid |

1) Yes. The goblins here in the desert are by and large CN, and although they don't mix, they're not hated like Varisian goblins. Gnolls, sure. I'll throw some in for you. Another possibility: ogres. Ogres are pretty common in the mountains, so common that in Katheer there are domesticated and war ogre bloodlines that have been living among Katheerans for centuries.
2) Yes, go for it.

Oh, come on...
You haven't read the Rest of the Book!
Spells like:
Summon Sex Partner I-IX
Dirk's Impressive Tool
Hypnotic Rump
Mordykenen's Wonderful Brothel
and Locate Clitoris
to name but a selection!
Also a couple of PrC's, my favourite being:
Mystic Pimp
one of the pre-requisites of which, you have to know at least Summon Sex Partner II.
Methinks it was not meant to be taken entirely seriously as a Sourcebook... 8?
