"I know nothing of a twin sister, Monsieur Marshal. Would you care to elaborate, what notion brought you to asking this question? This would mean a great deal to me."

Dayenn Naight |

'Why does the human male tend to fantasize about twins,' wonders Dayenn 'Must be something about the idea of two females, entirely interchangeable, no individual significance to either of them, debasing themselves ... OH!'
Dayenn drifts off into his own little fantasy about twins.

The Witchbrand |

Sense Motive DC 12** spoiler omitted **Witch whispers to his companions, "That marshal is not very happy with me now. Apparently, I'm ruining the 'professors' sparkling reputation. And that Dyrby--Derby--whatever his name is seems to be rather angry about something."
He says more loudly, "Twins? This sounds most disturbing. Miss, I know not your name, but have you any idea what this is about?"

Nathaniel Greenfellow |

Nathaniel furrows his brow and looks around darkly for a moment, his gaze finally settling on the professor with a scowl. “Stop it,” he growls. He then looks – finally, properly – at Vivienne, seeming to study her closely for a moment, then to the marshal. “Is the lady’s body still there? At the morgue?” he asks. “That is where we should start. After that, yes, if needs be we can escort a prisoner to the asylum.”
He spins suddenly and looks to the rest of the group, particularly Dayenn. “Well? Do we move? Or are you going to continue to sit here and prattle and engage in jokes and tea?”

Witch looks bemused. "I suppose that seeing the body would be the most efficient. And for your information, I don't like tea. Come on, Haelyn."

"The asylum. This is going to be a treat for all of us," says Dayenn, genuinely enthusiastic. "I would be interested in seeing any advances made in the care and understanding of mental illnesses. I wonder if anyone there has read my proposal on restorative bathing."
"Of course they've read your works. That's why they're in the asylum."

Dayenn does not perceive the insult but responds, quite pleased, "I was thinking of the caretakers but ... well, I guess it is possible some of the inmates have read my work as well."
"Very well then, Marshall," says Dayenn feeling quite proud of himself, "Is there anything more you would like to tell us before we depart?"

Nathaniel Greenfellow |

“I will go to the morgue,” states Nathaniel. “Marshal, if one of your aides can show us the way, and then direct us to the asylum or the prison or wherever it is we need to go next, it would be appreciated.”

A gendarme enters the room and salutes the marshal, "Lieuntenant, you shall accompany these good people to the morgue." The marshal gestures towards Vivienne, Nathaniel, Witch, Grim, Armand and Marius.
"The good professor will be coming with me to the asylum." With that the marshal stands unsteadily on his feet, "Let's go professor. It's not a good thing to have the sun set on you while in the asylum. The noise the inmates make is quite disturbing."

The Witchbrand |

"Well, in this case, my dear professor, might it be a thoughtful suggestion, that you accompany us to the morgue, and we follow you afterwards to the asylum? I'd like to lean on your expertise, while examing the dead twin."
"Expertise, my ass", Witch mutters.

Flattered but not persuaded, Dayenn answers "There really is much for me to do at the asylum. Let us go our separate ways for now and compare notes this evening."
Dayenn follows the gendarme.

As he passes the Witchbrand he whispers "I paid Darby extra to spit in your drink."

Witch glares at the 'professor'. "I am going to kill him for that."

Vivienne Marais |

"Let us look at my unlikely likeness in the morgue then. My dear gentlemen, would you be so kind to show us the way?" The first Vivienne addressed at the other members of the "congregation", the latter she spoke to the members of the Gendarmerie.
On her way out, she looks at Witchbrand with a bit of disdain. "Sometimes wishes have the tendency to become true in the worst way you can possibly imagine. I learned that the hard way."

As you journey through the city, you notice that several large pillars of smoke mar the skyline casting an otherwise bright day into darkness. Gendarmes can be seen patrolling everywhere.

After you finish registering, the gendarme leads you to a steep staircase leading down. At the bottom of the staircase, you find a wide corridor. You follow the corridor and find a door labelled “Examination Room.”
For Dayenn
The carriage stops in front of the asylum. There are ten wide steps leading up to the double doors which comprise the main entrance to the asylum. Bald and muscular male attendants flank a small bespectacled man with thinning grey hair. “Good afternoon, marshal. I am Louie Foch, the director of the asylum. We received your office’s communication and everything has been readied per your instructions.”
The marshal nods and introduces you, “Monsieur, this is the esteemed Professor Dayenn Naight from the university.”
