Okay. Gittik proceeds down the stairway. It goes down 20 feet east, and switches back on a 5foot by 10 foot landing, and goes down 15 feet west, turns south 5feet, and hits a hallway. The hall goes east 40 feet where it opens into a room. 15 feet inside THAT room, Gittik sees an elf(?) in chain shirt holding a bolt of cloth. The elf sees him also. To the west, this hallway opens into a 20 foot north wall by 25 foot west wall room.
THIS room appears empty.
The whole place is lit with torches.
Dimensions:A-U top; 1-6(right now) side grid
A-D 2-6 is the west room.
e1 is where the stairway deposits into the hallway from the north.
e2-m2 is the hallway.
at i3, there is a hall turning south.
N-U 1-2+ is the east room where the elf is.
The elf is at P2.
Initiative. Everybody can start their actions at E1.
(note: this is all natural caverns; stone floors, torch lit; just sticking to a squareish setup for ease of translation...)

He's got two arms.
No, seriously; he has a longsword banging at his hip, and wears a chain shirt. He...looks elven, from a distance, and in shadowy lighting. He's depositing a big bolt of cloth on the ground to the north, when he sees Gittik peeking around the corner. Guy's got no pokerface whatsoever; he's not playing it off or anything. He's gonna start squawking.

Becton of Pelor |

Since it seems a little crowded down the passge for now, Becton will move to C2. He'll look around the small room there, while trying to keep an eye on the action.
"Hope someone's going to silence him before he alerts the whole complex to our presence..."Becton utters in stating the obvious.
Nice map layout there! Let me know if there's any chance I get a clear crossbow shot - I'm guessing unlikely right now with our front-liners in the charging fray.

Riese |

Riese moves to J2 and concentrates on his wand, pointing it at the elf...
1d20 7=21 concentration, 1d20 3=17 ranged touch, 1d6 2=8 damage.
A missile of cold erupts from the wand and slams into the elf.

dungeonmaster heathy |

Riese blasts the elf or whatever it is with a blast of freezing ill humor from his wand. He looks at Riese; he was drawing a wand; covered with hoarfrost he emits a smoky breath and crumples to the ground.
Beldan finds a convenient shadowed alcove in the wall at his position and becomes of the sudden completely hidden, immersed in the darkness.
He can hear somebody at least, possibly just around the corner; he's breathing hard...
Altai; Elgan's round one go. Noone at this moment sees anymore foemen, but they are there.

dungeonmaster heathy |

Two warriors come lumbering up the hall Beldan ducked down.
One is a tall northman in leather, with a battleaxe, who foams at the mouth. He moves to I2, and doesn't see Beldan in the alcove.
He smites Stiggy with a battleaxe, 8 in damage.
The second one, at I3, is....strange looking to say the least. Her skin is pale green, and long white hair in a bow down to the back of her calves. She's eerily beautiful, even though her eyes are black with white pupils.
She wears a floral silk shortrobe, and chain shirt, and has a katana.
Apparently she doesn't see Beldan either, for she's standing right in front of him, starting to gesture spells.
A human swordsman in leather with rapier and dirk confronts Gittik in the hall at square L2; he does stab Gittik with the rapier, and does 3 h.p. damage.
Round 2!

Gittik |

Raging. Roll to hit with scimitar = 18 + 6 = 24 and a critical threat. Roll to confirm = 6 + 6 = 12, so probably not. Damage = 1 + 4 = 5, maybe 10 if he crits. Roll to hit with kukri = 8 + 6 = 14. A (just) possible hit, 1 + 2 = 3 points of damage.
Gittik's eyes bulge with fury, and he swings mightily, if inaccurately, at the rapier-wielding dandy.

The kukri misses; the scimitar hits but doesn't crit. Almost got the femoral vein; not quite.
The dandy shrieks as the berserk halfling opens up a wicked wound on his quadrucep. His powdered wig plops to the ground."You'll pay for that, you rapscallion!"

Riese |

1d20 7=27 concentrate, 1d20 3=5 ranged touch. Damn.
Riese, in his excitement of being able to activate the wand, neglects to aim it very well at Gittik's attacker and freezes a small section of wall next to the man.
How do you think the combat wand is working out, Heathy? Doesn't seem too powerful or anything right?

Altai Iscarni |

"Huh. This calls for stronger measures." Seeing that Stig and Gittik are taking a beating, Altai decides to even the odds a little. His hands twist and weave as he casts a spell...
Casting my signature spell. The celestial fire beetle appears on my initiative next round behind the odd-looking woman in I3 (in I4, I presume?) and promptly starts chewing her into tiny, tiny bits.

Beldan Vale |

“Hello lovely,” says Beldan in a low voice, sidling up to the exotic beauty, his dagger in her ribs. “You have my heart. Best stop with the spell or I’ll have yours. Surrender and you don’t get hurt, I promise.”
Readying an action to stab her in the kidney if she continues casting or makes any hostile moves.

dungeonmaster heathy |

She looks at you.
"This is a most intriguing seppuku I commit...wherein I behead my second, who cuts the hara." Her voice sounds sonorous; baritone, and mighty like the growl of a lioness.
You don't know what the hell she's talking about, but you know she's drawing the long sword with her left hand.
She IS drawing steel.

Beldan Vale |

Beldan’s too soft hearted – or too easily distracted by beautiful woman. He hesitates, doesn’t punch the shiv in straight away – and by the time he realizes that this woman means business, and will likely kill him, he’s lost his chance, she’s moved, and his desperate thrust merely slices her robe.
Attack roll: 2

Harvak |

Harvak sends his throwing axe straight at the lumbering northern bersekering barbarian1d20+5=24-4=20 1d6+2=8

Elgan Dreadwood |

Actually, I was already a cat, but thanks mr DM!
Elgan, having been distracted up till now by the constantly shifting forest of knees he finds him in, suddenly has a clear view between the hastily moving companions. He sees Beldan emerge from the shadows to place a knife at the ribs of the strange green skinned lady. (But hey, he usually wears a furskin coat, who is HE to judge?!?) He also sees that his friend seems to be somewhat enamored of her, as he doesn't seem to react as she draws her sword!
With feline grace, Elgan dodges past the legs of his shorter companions, and between the legs of his taller ones, to leap upon the green skinned lady with a savage roar!
Elgan ATTACK! (1d20 3=20, 1d6 3=7)
If I remember right, we can pass through friendly squares with no penalty, we just cannot SHARE a square at the end of our movement, right? My plan is to move to I2 and attack the lady. P{lace me elsewhere if that won't work.

dungeonmaster heathy |

I'll tell you what--
that square, I2, is currently occupied by a berserk viking dude.
If Stiggy drops him on his attack this round, you do what you said, and that's that. You can occupy the space of a dropped dude.
If, however, Stiggy doesn't drop him, you can attempt to overrun him and knock him prone; however you can't attack her because overrunning is a standard action.
He'll also get an aoo on you.
