My longest-running D&D character (a very slow-moving on-and-off game that's been going for 20 years) is a backwoods dwarf named Emus Graymullet.

hmmm... a couple of times people used naughty slang phrases and simply reversed the spelling. I'll spare yall and not provide examples. It is creative? not really. I think you need a bit more finesse for a good joke or pun. I don't think anybody had the courage back in the 80s to use a good "drag name" or something like Peter O'Toole. I've seen Harry Pitts used twice.
I think I used 'Kummon Aye Wannalayyah' as a surfer styled juju necromancer in a Ravenloft game... yeah, it was serious... lol...
