Ha, for a minute there I thought I posted to the wrong thread.

Camris,

I don't agree with all of the skill totals on Finrod's sheet.

Here are the differences I note...

Balance +7 (It's Cross-Class...I don't know where +2 Misc comes from)

Climb +7 (I don't know where +2 Misc comes from...conditional use of rope?)

Jump +11 (+4 bonus for movement 40', but I don't know where +2 Misc comes from)

Ride +5 (DEX bonus +5, not +6)

Survival +5 (I don't know where +2 comes from...conditional Knowledge skills?)

Tumble +9 (It's cross-class)

For Balance and Jump, the only thing I can think of is claiming a synergy bonus from Tumble, but he doesn't have enough ranks in Tumble, so that can't be right.

I think the discrepancies in Climb and Survival might be due to conditional synergy modifiers from Use Rope and certain Knowledge skills, respectively. In those cases, I'd prefer if you noted that on the sheet something like this...

Climb +7/+9 (with use of knotted rope)

That way, I won't accidentally give you the extra bonus all the time. Anyway, please take a second look there and see if you agree/disagree with my numbers and conclusions. Thanks!

Amardolem, I see that Fleaux's page is coming along little by little. Please let me know when his sheet is ready for my perusal.

Pat, Vel will be my next target for sheet approval.

Sean, we haven't heard from you in a couple of days. Everything okay?

Oh, almost forgot...Finrod's hp = 39.

Cool. Just to save a step, note that the stats on the spell descriptions incorporate +1 caster level to conjuration spells from the tattoo (which I need to add to her description), which is why Medium and Long range look different for different spells. The Warmage Edge damage bonus is also incorporated. I think everything else is pretty straightforward.

Oh, yes, "barded in half-chain" means a chain shirt for the horse!

M Halfling Druid/6

I have about everything done except my animal companion and and inputing it in a sleek and hip manner, I should finish up by tonight. I really take character sheets for granted...I usually write them up on scratch and allow the sheet to organize it. I'm surprised that one of the less computer-challenged Paizonians hasn't come up with something by now. if this message comes out twice it's my lack of computer savy...I typed it in and then it was gone so I bet it's posted elsewhere also...back to to the grind

Male, but you really don't want to know how to check gender on a beholder... Human. You just can't beat that extra feat and those extra skill points. Gamer 20 (specialist school - DMing)/Theater Tech 15/Writer 10/ Slacker 30

Sorry I haven't posted a character yet. I've been teching a show that opens tomorrow, so it's been a lot of working in just a couple of days. I should be able to post one by Sunday at the latest.

Male Elf Slayer Level 1

OK, I have recalculated the skills set, seems I've been doing cross-class skills wrong for eight years.

No problem, Sean, I just wanted to make sure you're still with us! :)

Wow, sorry to be the bearer of bad news, man! But don't sweat it, I've discovered that some of my own rules understanding was lacking recently, as well. That's one of the nice things about this format, we can all learn from each other in a low-pressure environment.

In any case, I am happy with Camris' skills now. Thanks for fixing them! The only thing he needs now is that background/personality/etc. C'mon, Fluff! :)

Sean, Minister of KtSP wrote:

Same w/ me.

M Halfling Druid/6

The character is done, I used the Bonus Varisian feat and for the bonus points I took Shoanti language, Craft(wild Item) and Knowledge (Geography) as part of his guide profession and tribal status(see fluff) I'm still working on his animal companion (It's like having a whole extra frickin character!-I haven't played a Druid in 15 yrs- the original 1e Ravenloft module!!) But it should be done tonight (I know thats what I said yesterday, but my kids were watching the original Harryhausen "Jason and the Argonauts" and I got sucked in!!) and it'll be input by tomorrow in the am...if anything's not ok just let me know, I'll be checking back in periodically tonight

Male Elf Slayer Level 1

Appearance and Personality updated. Only background left.

M Halfling Druid/6

That's it! Pending the judgement of Ashendel, Fleaux lives!

Fleaux Birchmantle wrote:

I'm not Ashendel, but it looks to me (just looking at the non-spoiler stuff) like you cheated yourself of a stat point. Assuming your fourth-level point is in Wisdom . . .

Strength 10 (12) = 4
Dexterity 16 (14) = 6
Constitution 14 = 6
Intelligence 10 = 2
Wisdom 16 (15) = 8
Charisma 9 = 1

Total 27

Hi guys,

The weekend got a little busier for me than expected, too! I'm trying to finish up going over Vel's sheet (haven't found any problems so far), and then I'll move on to Fleaux.

m other rogue/bard/ranger 1/2/1

Yeah...hmmmn, Ya know after switching from half-orc the stats were flying fast and furious..good catch! you all can look at the spoilers if you want, originally, I wasn't even putting them in till I saw one of your guys sheets It's pretty convenient to be able to pop up what you need (specially for the DM)

Pat, I really can't find anything about Vel's sheet to quibble about. Let's give her 26 hp, and call her ready to roll.

Fleaux, you're next! :)

Amardolem,

Before I forget, let's give Fleaux 45 hit points.

For the most part he looks pretty good. One thing I do notice is that I believe his Touch AC should be 15. He wouldn't get the bonus from his armor, but everything else should still apply. Also, there is a -4 size modifier to his Grapple score, so that nets to +0.

The biggest thing I need help with is his skills. I am having trouble deciphering from the sheet's current format exactly how many skill points you have placed in each skill. Can you break it down for me in a way that indicates what numbers come from rank assignments, ability scores, miscellaneous bonuses, etc? More work, I know, but it really would make things easier for me.

That's it for now. I still need to check out Vince, though.

Okay, I have to head out for work, but I'll be working on my character in between shows today, and I'll post my character when I get home later ronight.

M Halfling Druid/6

No problem! friday night I typed late and my the screen started blurring out so I was taking the path of least resistance...I had em' on my scratch..Voila!

Male Elf Slayer Level 1

OK, added the Background. That should be everything; if I missed anything let me know.

Amardolem, I'll have another go at Fleaux's skill allotment later on today.

Camris, thanks for getting Finrod's fluffy details written up. He looks good now, completely approved! That's 2 down, 3 to go. :)

I'm sitting at my desk, absolutely swamped with work, thinking of when I'll have time to finish my PC. As it is, I'm going to be here until very late. That being said, as much as I'd like to play in this game, I think I'm going to have to do the grown up thing and step aside for one of the others who were interested.

My apologies to all - have fun, and see you on the boards.

Bummer, Bill.

See you at Thom's place . . .

m other rogue/bard/ranger 1/2/1

work sucks....but it pays the exorbitant cost of buying thousands of WOTC products...grown up things suck but they're better than the alternative

Billzabub, I'm not happy to see you go, but I respect your decision. And, I appreciate you letting us know in a timely fashion. Good gaming to you in the future, maybe we'll cross paths again! :)

Now, to find a replacement...Guy Humual, you're the next alternate up for the spot. Please check in here if you're still interested.

EDIT: I created a thread on the 'Gamers Seeking Gamers' section addressed specifically to Guy, so hopefully he'll see it!

Okay, here's most of Hoban. I still have to finish buying equipment, give a description, and write a background, but this is what I've got so far.

Thanks again, Ash. I was looking forward to it, but like I said, I'm swamped at work. Plus, I'm in two games already, and the idea of a third was making me feel like Sibyl. Besides, w/ a ranger & ranger/rogue, it looks like I would have had to rethink my character anyway.

Sweet, how soon do you need a character and what do you guys need?

How does a bard or a monk sound?

Hoban Randir wrote:

It's a very good start, Sean!

I'll wait until Hoban's a little closer to done before I delve in too deeply with my analyis, though. But at a glance, he looks good. :)

Guy Humual wrote:

Guy, welcome! :)

Here's the current party breakdown, in a nutshell...

Finrod Moruin, Elven Ranger6 (Archer) (by Camris)
Fleaux Birchmantle, Halfling Druid6 (by Amardolem)
Vel, Human Warmage6 (by Pat)
Hoban Randir, Human Rogue4/Ranger2 (by Sean)

So, with that lineup, I'd say the monk is probably a better choice than the bard. As it stands, the most durable PC is the druid, so frontline melee staying power may be a bit lacking. Still, I'd like you to play the character that interests you most.

EDIT: As for how soon...well, the sooner I've got five character sheets approved, the sooner we can start! :)

I'm not a fan of meat shields but I'll go barbarian

Here's Gaxsban

m other rogue/bard/ranger 1/2/1

This party was destined to have a Barbarian.

Male Elf Slayer Level 1

Does the Common language exist here in Varisia? If not, I should take a different language then...

m other rogue/bard/ranger 1/2/1

I believe it is Chelaxian

Actually, my understanding is that Common does exist, while other human languages (e.g., Shoanti, Chelaxian, Varisian) are separate tongues. According to the RotRL player's guide (I think) all PCs know Common, while the other human tongues may be known as a bonus language, if the character comes from the appropriate region.

Male Human

Do you think I should get the first Rise of the Rune Lords volume, with all the background? Or is it unneccessary?

m other rogue/bard/ranger 1/2/1

my bad...the Players guide was a free PDF a while ago it may be a small sum by now...it definately whets the appetite! I wanted to get the map set, because I love maps but my RotRL DM said it has spoilers for that campaign so alas! I have to suffer. But the players guide should be here somewhere... http://paizo.com/store/games/roleplayingGames/p/pathfinder/v5748btpy7xpx there it's 2 bucks! Well worth it!

m other rogue/bard/ranger 1/2/1

I hate when links attack!! f%^&in technology!!

m other rogue/bard/ranger 1/2/1

I give up. It's here somewhere

The Players' Guide PDF is still free here (download link), though I believe the comment on Chelaxian being Common was in the discussion boards. Will look.

Here is Erik Mona's description of Common = Chelaxian.

I'd forgotten about it until this was brought up -- need a new language for Vel . . .

I think I have all of my stuff purchased, and a rough idea of a background. I should be able to post that to the character sheet tonight.

m other rogue/bard/ranger 1/2/1

I knew I had seen that somewhere. My DM for Runelords might have posted an exerpt from that or read it to us....I went back and read the players guide and it does say there is common and regional languages 6 of 1 etc etc...

Huh...well, thanks for posting that link, Pat. That is news to me, but I'm not going to refute Erik Mona. Okay, so we'll move forward with the understanding that common and Chelaxian are the same language. I don't forsee this having a very large impact on this game, but now we'll all be on the same page.

Ok Gax here just needs to buy some equipment and I should be good to go

Male Human

I already have the PDF Player's Guide, but those links cleared up a few questions.

Male Human

Time to get this puppy on the road.

From the handbill, who is Captain Tolgrith and where is Fort Thorn?
