In an alcove at the bottom of the Pit of Seven-Jaws, there is the corpse of a drow with a mithral shirt, a +1 longbow and pair of masterwork scimitars. Was this meant as a joke reference to a certain popular novel character?

Dark Archive

I felt like it was. Last time I ran that adventure I remember one of the players screaming "Drizzt noooooo!"

I told my group at the beginning of the campaign that there would be bonus experience points for anyone who managed to find Drizzt. They were relieved when they found him already dead.

My party named the guy at the bottom of the pit "Friz'zd." Since he was, ya know...

And they were also happy to find him dead.

My players were quite distraught to find "Drizzt" down there. They even held a funeral service for the unknown persons spirit.

He seems to show up in a lot of modules. Usually dead. Go figure.

But when he appears in video games he's alive, weird...
